Absolutely beautiful, would throughly recommend. We stayed for a quick last minute weekend getaway for our anniversary and we don’t have a single complaint for the whole stay. Our room was clean and comfortable, with a huge en-suite with lovely shower. Our room also had a couple of comfy armchairs with a view of the beautiful garden. The front of house staff were all incredibly friendly and welcoming. They also provided very cheerful and attentive service while we were sitting having a drink in the lounge. The breakfast was amazing - good quality food made to order. The hotel is in a great location, just a few minutes walk to the centre of town, and for us, lots of good hikes nearby in the local area as well. We also stayed for dinner and the food was great - we enjoyed absolutely everything. The chocolate fondant was a highlight for me but my husband said his crime brûlée was better! The price was good value too. Like I said, not a single complaint and we’d love to go back. Our special thanks to the front of house staff for such a friendly and welcoming atmosphere and service.

I think the Trip advisor reviews have got mixed up between people reviewing the restaurant and the guest house/B&B experiences; our review is for a 3 night stay, which was part of our touring holiday of Scotland. On arrival we couldn't help but notice what seemed to be a Christmas decoration (with fir cones/snow/lights) surrounding the door. I do like the idea of using outdoor lights all year round but i did question the choice of decoration. I wouldn't want readers to think the Abbotsford is bad, as it isn't - but I would question its 4 star rating and price point. It felt to us more 3 star. Our room was ok, some of the furnishings were a bit mismatched - the bathroom quite small compared to other places we stayed on our trip. The beds were comfy and we slept well. Daily room servicing is only upon request, thats fine but it would have helped to have been told this when we checked in. Interesting too, that this was the only place we stayed on our trip (13 different accommodations) that asked to debit our card with the cost of our stay within 2 minutes of us crossing the threshold. Breakfast was ok - a nice selection of cooked choices (£5 extra)- although the continental choices were a bit sparse. There seem to be only one person on duty at breakfast front of house - doing everything, so there were a few waits whilst coffee was topped up, orders taken etc. The final morning of our stay there was no orange juice which is surely a breakfast staple. So in summary, not bad, but could be better for the star rating and the price charged.

Booked in for Sunday lunch expecting a routine experience. On arrival amazed that the interior looked as if it was dressed for a wedding, but no - it was beautiful. Food was absolutely fabulous and the service from Sophie was second to none. She could answer every query we had about the hotel, the food, the chef and was so positive we can’t wait to actually stay there ! Thank you Sophie 💕

Stunning hotel, a real boutique hotel, a short walk away from the centre of the lovely village of Callander. Our room was full of character with a massive free standing bath. We had cream tea on arrival, a stunning dinner and breakfast was just perfect. All staff were very lovely, helpful and knowledgeable.
