4 /5 because of the rooms stinking of stale smoke, where people smoke in the room , ( reminds me of old pubs used to smell) , we didn’t complain as I’d asked for a ground floor room and new the hotel was fully booked so dealt with it myself , used Fe breeze spray on the curtains and scented candles in the main room and bedroom. Otherwise the room was ample for our stay, everything you would need in a self catering apartment. The shower curtain is a law unto itself, just don’t move around too fast , lol I’d go back again for January for sure , it’s a shame they don’t do breakfast, The hotel is close to shops and restaurants and the sea, where you can go for a lovely walk along the sea front, In January it’s taken over by the over 50’s brigade ,,, lol The recycling bins need to be bigger ,,, you have 3 , one big one under sink for general waste two small for cardboard and plastic , ( should be same size ) The outside was kept clean and tidy as is the area, We had a thunder storm while there and got stranded in our rooms for a few hours, till the cleaners showed up with there brush n pans,, It’s a shame you can’t get Wi-Fi in your rooms , but lest there’s English telly to watch , The pool area and bar was nice and bathing area, happy hour for drinks, the bar man was nice the woman not so nice , seems she can’t cope ,,, Over all it’s a gem and we will probably go again f we can’t find B&B in the area .

Just on my last day of a week's holiday. From start to finish it's been a pleasure. Checking in was simple, we arrived earlier than 3pm but was offered the use of a drop off room to store lugguage and told to go enjoy ourselves and come back later to checkin which was simple and fast. Room smelt a bit musty but was very clean and had everything we required, safe is a refundable €5. Didn't hire a kettle we boiled a pan of water. Shower was clean and strong. Location is perfect, close to the beautiful sandy beach and the rocky beach where you can see the wild chipmunks. Had a great time, it's not 5 star but a good budget hotel. Would stay here again. Yes there building works going on but didn't get disturbed by it. Thabkyou puerto caleta hotel

Never had a problem with sun beds as we are early risers . The staff are so friendly and always happy to help. Bar and pool area cleaned every day bar serving great snacks and drinks at cheap prices . We will be back In April if not before- thanks to all for a great week

We stayed in the busy period between Christmas and New Year. Let down by another complex in the area, we had limited other options and Puerto Caleta was one of the only places with room for four at a month’s notice - the price seemed crazy high as a result. Had the price been less, I would have been very happy. The location is good, staff were really professional and friendly. Pool area in very nice condition but water typically cold like in most Canarian resorts in winter. They need to either have more sunbeds or stop people using towels to reserve them all day. Room was very dated. Touch points on wardrobes and furniture very worn, breakfast bar useless for a group of four (only two stools, we brought the patio furniture inside on a couple of occasions), kitchen units and hob in need of replacement - we had to ask for maintenance to come to get the hob working, it had tripped the electrics. We felt it wad poor form to be asked to pay extra for a kettle/ safe etc when paying well over €100 per night. Bathroom was in a terrible state, shower head would not stay on wall, shower tray was cracked and poorly repaired, and sink likewise damaged. You could see some effort on maintenance - e.g. sofa cushions felt new and the ceiling seemed freshly painted in some areas, but we have had similar accommodation for half the price in the same resort previous Christmas/New Year periods. External apartment doors felt very flimsy. We used the poolsode bar on a couple of occasions (both times happy hour, so 2 x beers for €3.50 which seemed very reasonable. Wifi was about as bad as we’ve experienced in similar accommodation. Seems very typical of places like this. On our last night, it was New Year Eve, the party in the next door square was so loud and had so much bass, it was impossible to sleep - not the management’s fault, but this type of thing should have been mentioned to us when booking - especially given the extrs charge for staying on NYE. Issues aside, we would definitely come back, but not at the price we paid this time.

We stayed here for a week, and although I don’t usually complain, I feel compelled to share my experience. Upon arrival, I was initially disappointed with the apartment we were given, but as the saying goes, "you get what you pay for." It consisted of two interconnecting rooms on the ground floor, but the door between them was stuck shut. Maintenance eventually managed to open it, but it was a struggle. The apartment itself was outdated and in need of some serious attention. The shower barely worked, the doors were loose and difficult to open, and multiple lights, including the kitchen, bedroom, and outdoor ones, didn’t function. The fridge was damaged from being too close to the hob, and several windows were stuck shut. The patio was tiny, facing the street where passersby could easily look in, and the tiles were full of holes, making it dangerous to walk on without shoes. On the second night, we found cockroaches crawling out of the walls, vents, and sink. We reported it to reception, and while they did a deep clean and the place smelled fresher, the cockroaches returned the next day, including one the size of a phone. With young children in tow, this was unacceptable, and we had to move to another room upstairs by the fourth night. The new room was cleaner and nicer, though there were ants in the kitchen. As for the pool, it was in terrible condition. The damaged floor caused my granddaughter to cut her fingers and I also injured my foot. It wasn’t a pleasant environment. The only positive aspect of this place was the location. Having visited Fuerteventura for over 25 years, I’ve never had such an issue with cockroaches before. I would not stay here again, as there are certainly better options available.
