Somy Plaza Calangute Goa - Formerly Somy Resort

After leaving some awful accommodation we were so grateful to Somy Plaza for being the beautiful safe haven that we moved to. All the staff were fantastic, so welcoming and super accommodating. The room was large, with an additional dressing room, and a nice bathroom with a big walk in shower. We had air con, a ceiling fan, a wall mounted tv, and a safety deposit box. It was all very comfortable and kept lovely and clean for our whole stay (of nine days). The grounds and pool area were beautiful and kept very nice and tidy. The pavilion was great for food and drinks, and we were so well looked after, especially by Vivian ... Who was warm and friendly, and did anything he could to help. The manager Paul was very friendly and helpful, as was everyone, from reception, through to gate security. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this lovely place and to stay here again ourselves. Somy Plaza Resort is perfect place to visit, Rooms are spacious, Location is super perfect, Staffs are super friendly and nice , specially Ms. Priyanka from Receiption desk , she helped me so much through out stay , she makes sure everything perfect , even she allow me check in Arround 11am because Room was Avilable , Ms. Priyanka thank you very much for your help , Such staff make brand bigger and more trusted … Nice ambience , great swimming pool , Good food , Breakfast portion was perfect …

Great little resort. The rooms are spacious here. The pool area is nice. And the food on-site isn't half bad although it could be better in my opinion for what is supposed to be a 4-star. The location is as good as anywhere else in Goa.

Aneet ravi vivean and salon great staff doing a good job Was r in correct room so bit annoyed as I paid for family wasn't like the pic in brochure bit room next door was. I was 311. The cleaner he was lovely couldn a helped us more with clean towels water and toilet rolls. Pool side was good. Tables need a good paint or scrub though Great towel service but pls smile more Food good Only real downsize was closed way too early on a nite and no emtertainmemt

Somy is located in between calangute and candolim great resort pool is lovely and plenty of sunbeds the staff at the resort are all friendly and welcoming cant do enough for you we stayed bed & breakfast they had fried eggs,bolied,poached and omelletes freshly cooked to order also pancakes on a few days with honey the usual toast machine which you need to put bread through several times to toast which is the same in most places also juice,coffee sachets,tea i would recomend taking your own mug as cups are small and your own coffee although you can pay extra for lattes made from coffee machine ,cereals,and fruit . You can purchase meals at lunch or evenings and they have pizzas,ect.....we mainly had picky bits like onion bahji,samosas, they where lovely .it is a lot cheaper to eat and drink out locally as they add on service charge at the somy and there plenty of places to eat a few recomends would be nirvanas (butter chiken anazing)in candolim,tonys place not far from somy but theres lots of places . You can walk to the beach its not far you have tge choice of cakangute,candolim or baga i oersonally loved xandolim as its quieter. The rooms,at somy we had a superior,pool view on the top floor lots of steps to go up and not great if your mobility isnt good the room was soacious,clean and had a lounge area ,bedroom,dressing area with wardrobe and bathroom 2 balonies one from bedroom and one from lounge it had air con which was great and ceiling fans as it was very hot and humid in feb tip take plenty of mosquitto sprays,plug ins although you can buy it locally in supermarkets overall somy was fab i would recomend for location,friendliness of staff and pool

Just come back from the somy plaza,spent a month there,everything at hotel was great,all the staff,from the room boys to the management were lovely,centrally located a lovely clean hotel,one of the best we have stayed in, in the 13 years of goa,great hotel,will be back
