Beautiful accommodations in an exceptional setting, nestled in the heart of the woods. The cabins are beautiful and perfectly equipped. Ideal for a stopover while traveling through Mexico.

Wow!! Where to start, the staff is kind, nice and eager to help you and please you anyway they can. You are literally in the middle of the jungle hearing birds, crickets, etc. While resting in super comfy beds, with a.c, safe and ultra clean place. The restaurant has a very large variety of food for any type of craving. The restaurant service is oustanding. Jorge really excels at his job. If you want a great place to stay while exploring the mayan archeological sites, look no further. This place is beautiful, reasonably priced and has amazing staff! We stay here for 4 oustanding nights!

Basic but fascinating. The services were properly done even if we stayed only for a night. I was satisfied even during the night there was a very annoying noise due to trucks on the parking. The rooms are big and clean. Old structure but quite comfortable

We stayed two nights as part of a tour of the peninsula. We had a room opposite the restaurant & a king size bed. The room was very noisy day and night due to the proximity of the main road. No A/C, but a fan above the bed. The towels were grey & looked grubby. The toilet seat was broken & the toilet leaked. The light switches were very very dirty & probably not been cleaned since installation. The electrics were suspect & the bedside & outside lights didn’t work. The resort claims to be ‘eco’ but the only evidence was of two rubbish bins in the bedroom, one marked ‘recycling’. The food was edible but service extremely slow & chaotic e.g we pre-ordered breakfast the night before for an early start but it still took 45 minutes to arrive. Drink prices were double what we had paid at any place during our 19 day trip. The pool was a haven for mosquitoes & the stepping stones around the property a death trap.

Very helpful and kind hotel staff. With the current heavy work (for the Maya train) being done in the area of Xpujil, it is quite challenging to find a suitable hotel which offers quietness during the night. Chicanna Ecovillage offers it, even if it has also been indirectly impacted by the trucks and the work. Therefore there are less animals around the hotel. Don’t be surprised that you want be able to pay the initial price in dollars but the reference price will be in MXN pesos, converted at a very low rate in dollars…

We stayed here for 2 nights during our honeymoon while visiting the Calakmul bioreserve. Would not recommend. The rooms were dirty and damp, and our bed linens were dirty, some even had what looked like blood stains on them. The bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable. The mosquito nets over the open windows which had no glass, were broken/torn. There is no AC here (which we did know before coming, but it was actually advertised on the billboard outside the resort that there was air conditioning). I got bitten by what I think was bedbugs inside the bed. The water that came out of the shower smelt like sewage. The wifi was only available at the restaurant or the reception, and even then it only worked some of the time and was not great. The pool was filthy - cloudy and the smaller pool had thousands of tadpoles and other bugs living in it so they were clearly not adequately chlorinated. This was a real shame as we were really looking forward to cooling down in the pool after hot days and we just couldn't get into this one. All the other places we stayed at in Mexico had pristine pools. The reception staff were very unfriendly and unhelpful. There was no welcome drink for us, as advertised on their website. Despite being on honeymoon, there was nothing special for us. The rooms look nothing like what the website suggests. Everything seems very old and run down/shabby. The only good thing about this hotel was the wait staff at the restaurant who were absolutely lovely, helpful and really friendly. The food at the restaurant was ok, a little pricey for what it is. The location was useful for getting to Calakmul and also a 30 min drive from the batcave which was really cool. But all in all it was a very unpleasant couple of nights and we could not wait to leave, would not recommend staying here to anyone.
