If it wasn’t for the beautiful views from the hotel I would give it a 1 star. Hotel is clean but quite dated, some staff are lovely but that’s where it ends. I visited here with my husband for 3 nights, the food is absolutely diabolical, not only is cold even if you go as soon as the restaurant opens, but the variety is even worse, same things everyday and most of it is edible. Breakfast isn’t too bad, but again freezing. Not much entertainment although I understand the season hasn’t started properly yet. No kettle in the rooms, so the facilities aren’t great at all. Sun beds could do with updating as most of them and ripping around the edges or have bird poo stains on them. All inclusive drinks are very limited. Won’t be returning here which is a shame as it’s in a beautiful location!

Arrived on 11 April for 5 nights 2 Adults 2 children (age 13) From the outside, it's a lovely looking hotel. Easy checking, staff on checking day lovely and polite and friendly. Reception is lovely and modern. We were given rooms on the second floor. Hallways could do with being decorated and definitely new carpets. Overall room was clean, basic room. Didn't like the balcony door. It only had a flimsy lock. Great swimming pool, even though it was freezing. Just a short walk to a fantastic beach. Sunbeds €7.00 each. Now the food........... we was all inclusive.... we ended up eating out. Very poor selection and not cooked properly. Breakfast small was OK. Snacks were burgers, hotdogs, and chips. Inclusive drinks are all local drinks. Some reception staff are moody / rude. The kids' wrist bangs got too tight, so we took them off. Ask for new ones, and they moaned and said we don't give new ones, but after a conversation, we ended up with new ones for them. After reading mixed reviews, I was very unsure what this hotel was going to be like. The question is, would I return ( yes) but only room. Not all inclusive. Lovely restaurants are just up the road.

Cabot Cala Ferrera is not a big hotel, there is one dining room, one main area for entertainment, the hotel is a bit retro with actual keys to lock guest rooms. It is not especially posh, but it is located on a jaw droppingly beautiful cove. I understand that the hotel has just been taken over. The staff were really helpful and we enjoyed the meals. There was plenty of choice including some traditional Spanish dishes. The hotel employed an entertainer, she was brilliant. In the morning Yoga was offered, during the day, I saw her painting with the children. Another time playing a game with adults. In the early evening she had the children disco dancing like they were at a family wedding! This little hotel made everyone feel comfortable and included. The staff were so lovely and to me this is what matters and that is why I have awarded the hotel 5 stars. Also important, it was nice and clean and great value for money!

We had a lovely stay with family and friends. Rooms are very clean, staff are extremely helpful and friendly. All inclusive menu is changed everyday, food was very nice, coffee is really great. Bar snacks and drinks are served most of the day, beer is really nice. The view from the hotel is amazing! Easy access from hotel to the beach, loads of restaurants and shops around it, public transport is available. Sara, the entertainment girl is amazing, always smiling. A shame this hotel has bad reviews. We will definitely come back next year. Thank you guys for the lovely week.

Returning after several years, I was impressed by the remarkable improvements. The service has notably elevated, with a special mention to the fantastic reception staff, particularly a young lady who made check-in seamless. In summary, it exceeded expectations with its exceptional service. Highly recommended for a relaxing getaway.

Before booking this hotel we did read the reviews but we always take a view and take everything with a pinch of salt. Well the REVIEWS WERE ALL ACCURATE. The hotel is situated in a fabulous location, the staff and hotel cleanliness very good. It is as the other reviews have said in that the food is not varied, interesting, tasteful (only being on one stand) but more important is the fact that the food is not hot which was a concern for me and my family, as I know that food on hot plates should be kept at 140°F or warmer to avoid any bacteria etc, the food was cold. If we wanted cold food we would have stuck to salads. I suppose we could have requested a microwave to heat the food! But then you should not heat up food if it has been out for more than two hours! This was reported to Rob the Jet 2 rep but all he seemed to do was defend the hotel (which was strange as a Jet 2 customer he should be fighting our corner) saying it was the plate, it was the time taken for food to table etc. (Not sure if there was a hidden agenda as the rep ate there every day!!) In the end we decided to spend more money and eat out. We also drank out as the all inclusive drinks were probably the worst we have ever had with AI packages, we did wonder whether the drinks were watered down?? If you required water you had to get a cup and fill it at the bar, if you wanted a bottle you had to pay. Not sure how you are suppose to carry a cup to your rooms without spilling!!! In the rooms there was no kettle or facilities to make a drink. One night my son’s bed in his room collapsed. His toilet also moved. My shower did not work as the button you raise to work the shower was not movable, so resorted to a bath and the plug was too small so the bath did not fill up, so I had a shower in my son’s room. Of course the hotel is in need of a refurbishment. Think the final straw was that we looked down from our rooms on all the rubbish which was in skips which was collected between 12.30am and 2.30am which woke up the whole family, what a din, noisy bin men, noisy skip collection. All I can say thankfully we only stayed 4 nights!

The location of this hotel is stunning! Located in a small inlet right beside a beach and the sea. The hotel itself does require a bit of an update but it’s very clean and comfortable which are two main essentials in my opinion. The room we stayed in didn’t have a sea view (they cost more and unfortunately none were available) but it was spacious, and the beds were comfortable, however, there was only one plug socket into which a 3 socket extension was in use but the tv plug was in one of the sockets, leaving 2 spare, something to consider if you have phones, iPads, watches etc.. There was a bath as well as a shower and hot water was plentiful. The dining room is quite large and overlooks the sea, and tables were cleared and reset quickly. The food was good if you have an adventurous palette but there was at least, something for everyone’s taste. The reception staff were pleasant as were the bar staff (apart from old grumpy but I reckon that’s just his nature, he wasn’t unpleasant anyway) but Edwardo in the poolside bar/snack bar was so lovely, after the first day he knew what I was going to ask for before I said it and he kept the whole area spotless. There were plenty of sun beds around the pool area but could get difficult to bag one if you were there during school holiday’s etc. The entertainment was a little lacking but there was just one animation member and full credit to her as she tried her best to drum up enthusiasm for the pool aerobics and games, sometimes with little results. It was about 15/20 minute walk into the centre of Cala D’Or but there are plenty of shops along the way to browse and a fabulous children’s play area with go karts and a bouncy castle etc.

The trip from Palma airport was a pleasant experience. The mini bus was fantastic and the driver very professional. We got to the hotel and was greeted by the reception staff and because it was late getting to the hotel, we were given something to eat, even though it was a salad, the thought and care was there. We were on the 4th floor, overlooking the sea, waves lapping at the rocks. It was great. We got up the next morning and went down to breakfast, the manager looked us up and down and was watching everyone like a hawk. The breakfast, maybe because we are English, was definitely not to our liking. Everything we looked at was cheap, unappealing and mainly directed at German and Spanish people. Yes we are in Spain, however the majority of the residents that I could make out were English. The lunch and dinner menu was basic and directed to the same people. We were a party of 6 and we just couldn’t get a table of 6 because parties of 2 and 3 were sitting at them, even though we asked once for the children to run on and get a table of 6 and because they were there on without us, the manager started raising his voice to them, saying needs to be 6 on here and tried to move them, however we got there just in time to reassure him, we are a party of 6. The facilities, including the pool were great, the views, spectacular, so we couldn’t fault any of that. However I will say, there is a massive language barrier, staff were mainly unprofessional in their approach to issues that we had. Also there was an issue with the manager of the dining hall tapping one of the children on the head, which was witnessed but when we raised the issue, they all huddled together and brushed it off. Then attempted to blame us for children running around the hotel, which they didn’t because they were always in our sight. It went from good to basically tit for tat. So we asked for the managers name and we were denied this, so we asked when he would be there so we could speak to him. The manager seemed friendly and professional to us and listened to our concerns and said he would get back to us. He didn’t. The night before we left, one of the children was in the bunk beds which were surprisingly situated next to windows and window slats. Because she was restless on her last evening there she hit the slatted window with her hand and the glass went everywhere. It wasn’t toughened glass and she was lucky she wasn’t cut to pieces. We did advise the hotel of the breakage and they just said that’s okay, we will replace, asked if the child was okay and that was that. What we can say is, the hotel is very clean and tidy. The staff can and did act unprofessionally in the main. It’s a good place to stay and have your holiday but just be aware of the conduct of the staff. It’s not good. All in all, I think if the transfer was closer and the staff a bit more polite, we would go back. So not all doom and gloom. Just be wary please.

This is the 1st review I've ever written. Having been to the Cala Ferrera hotel several years ago my partner & I were keen to give it another go despite the bad reviews we had read. The hotel is on a prime spot ,with fabulous views of the bay. Overall, the staff are pleasant & courteous. They are doing their best to provide a good service.During our stay we never once saw a manager.Nor were we asked if everything was to our satisfaction. Sadly ,everything that people have said about the state of the hotel is true.It is run down & in need of refurbishment. However,my main issue was with the food, which was poor quality, scarce, tasteless & unimaginative. After a few days we gave up & ate out.We felt that the hotel's other failings were forgivable but the food on offer was unacceptable.
