I came here late June with my 2 teenagers, I shared with my daughter (15) and my son (19) was in his own room next door. Transfer time is quite long depending on how many stops along the way (hats off to the coach drivers who navigate some tiny streets with ease!) Check in went smoothly but was surprised to see the lobby decor hasn’t changed in the 30 years since I last visited , this and the lifts need updating. The rooms are lovely and bright, bed was only slightly hard for my liking and the pillows are tiny. Bathroom is lovely, shower is nice and powerful and I love the scent of the shower gel but the hairdryer is not good at all (it gets very hot so bring your own if you need one) The air conditioning is so welcome in the extreme heat that Menorca is experiencing at the moment but remember it only works if the balcony doors are closed (don’t close them if you’re on the balcony as you’ll get locked out! This happened to me but my son came to the rescue) Food and drink is plentiful but food quality is a bit hit and miss, sometimes I had bread and cheese for dinner. Breakfast was always good and the snack bar was too so we tended to have our main meals then with picky bits at dinner. The drinks are self service and always cold, fizzy drinks, lager and wines were all good quality. Plenty of cakes, biscuits and desserts to choose from too. The evening entertainment wasn’t always to our taste but I suppose that means there’s something for everyone but there were only 2 acts that I wanted to see out of 7 nights and they didn’t start until 10, I don’t really enjoy sitting through the kids disco or bingo, it’s a shame they couldn’t be earlier. There’s a big area at the back of the hotel that is crying out for tables and chairs, it even has a stage area, would be lovely to sit out there in the evening and listen to music but it’s completely unused. The sunbeds don’t open until 9 and the pool not until 10! Never been to a hotel that had opening hours for these areas. They need to hire more lifeguards so early birds can go for a swim. All the staff are very friendly, polite and efficient. The ‘beach’ is accessed by about 40 steps which I did struggle with and it really isn’t a beach, certainly not somewhere you’d want to sunbathe or build sandcastles. But the cove itself is beyond beautiful and well worth the descent and climb. Snorkelling gear is an absolute must have and this is where to use your inflatables (they’re not allowed in the pool, nor are balls) lots of fish to see and it feels like a safe place to swim even if you’re not really a swimmer like me. My favourite thing was to just float about with my inflatable, heavenly. The town is a short walk away with plenty of restaurants if you want a change. Every kind of cuisine can be found. There also a great bar ‘Maktub’ which is by the dolphin roundabout which is famous for its frozen pints and cocktails. I would definitely come back again, it’s a beautiful location but I think we’ll go somewhere a

Really enjoyed our stay. Lovely hotel. Very clean. Great views over the coves. Staff work really hard. However, there is not a great selection for vegetarians and it would be better if had separate area for vegetarian food as not labelled well and is mixed alongside the meat options served. Snack bar food really nice. Most hotels these days do not charge to use the safe box in room so was bit disappointed with that. We really enjoyed the Michael Jackson tribute night. Definitely recommend the nearby sunset bar to watch the stunning sunset with a cocktail.

Beautiful location ,Lovely hotel , spotlessly clean . I found the food good always found something to eat and the snack bar was great aswell . We always managed to get sunbeds but we are always up early so that helps . I do think that the entertainment at the hotel could be better and the animation team did seem to favour the French guests . All in all a lovely holiday and I would return.

The hotel was the best we've ever stayed in and would love to return again in the future. Would be better if it was closer to shops but really handy having a supermarket on site

Our second stay at the Almirante Farragut and it didn't disappoint. Rooms comfortable, plenty of food options including themed nights although can be repetitive. Would be good to see pancakes at breakfast. Entertainment throughout the day and evening. A big shout out to the animation team who are all amazing and work hard to keep everyone entertained to the bar, restaurant and hotel staff. Everyone is friendly and we met people that return year after year. Hotel is 10 - 15 minutes walking distance to the shops and restaurants. Lovely cove next to the hotel. Would return with no hesitation.

Great with the cove next door but without the cove it wouldn't of been much fun for my teenagers as we only had 3 days where we managed to get sun beds and only 2 ( we are a family of 4) the sunbed brigade queuing up from 6 50 in the morning ( the doors to the pool didn't open til 9.00is absolutely ridiculous, but each to there own i guess. The food although fresh was very repetitive . Our room was spotless and the cleaning ladies were amazing I personally wouldn't go back again mainly because of the sunbed situation and the food

Excellent location, food was great. Need to get early to get a good sun lounger, even if you do speak to a lifeguard the no reservation rule is not enforced. Entertainment was lacklustre, kids clubs and disco felt like the same activities day in and day out. All staff were great though. No smoking rule at the pool is not enforced and people were smoking around us was a major drawback

A great stay at a beautiful hotel. Although a large hotel the service, location, food and room comfort was exceptional. There is a queue each morning for sunbeds but more for those who want a particular spot. Never had trouble in getting a bed but you do need to be there by 9.30am.
