Valentin Star Menorca - Adults Only

I have stayed at this hotel a few times and have never been disappointed. It is adults only and provides a high end feel throughout. Our room furniture was slightly dated but completely adequate for our needs. Every area of the hotel was incredibly clean and the food varied daily and was good quality. The pool was cool but gave relief from scorching weather. Plenty of poolside space from loungers to day beds. No lounger hogging here. Waiter service poolside for snacks and drinks. We had a balcony looking over the harbour which was lovely. Entertainment put on each evening was good, particularly the Brothers of Soul. Lydia the fitness instructor was great at teaching aquarobics and other activities daily. Great holiday, and food provided to take away as our early flight meant we would miss breakfast. Would definitely recommend and I'm sure we will be back.

Back from another stay at Valentin Star, small improvements made like the a la carte menu, and the Malibu pool bar. Staff are always polite. We continue to meet with old friends and make new ones. The General Manager, sr.Juan Dols greeted us by saying " welcome home"

Lovely adult only hotel. (Most seemed to be 55 - 70) Staff are brilliant, from the smiles and politeness, to their professionalism. Pool and grounds are beautifully kept. Pool side entertainment, aqua fit, water volleyball and out of pool games, were fun. Stayed half board. Food was varied and tasty. Most evenings had a musician playing gently. Evening singer entertainment between 9 - 11. Very relaxed, comfortable, clean hotel. The marina area on your doorstep, great to stroll around I would return

We stayed for a week in August. Most of the staff were friendly and polite. Restaurant service was excellent- though the food was a bit bland and samey. Cleaning was excellent. On arrival to our room we saw the ceiling fan was hanging above the bed- reported it immediately. Was told maintenance would come but they never did. After waiting and falling asleep we were woken by the kettle turning itself off and on- reported immediately, told maintenance would come but they never did. Two health and safety problems and we hadn’t even unpacked. After a couple of hours my husband took the kettle down to reception to swap- thought they might have spares - the one we had was dangerous and I wanted a cup of tea. He was told no ( the conversation was longer but basically they were too busy and they didn’t keep spares) and he was sent back to the room with the faulty kettle lol Bathroom light was flickering like a discotheque-didn’t both reporting. Come the morning- a cleaner bought a spare kettle ( she was obviously magic as they didn’t keep spares) and later, when we were out, maintenance showed up to fix the ceiling fan. Unfortunately it wasn’t a good first impression. The hotel needs updating especially the shower - the shower head didn’t move and personally (having long hair) I don’t want to get it wet each time. The rest of the holiday was great.

This was our second time visiting. We were going to try somewhere different this year, but enjoyed ourselves so much last year, we have now booked for May this year. Excellent food in the restaurant - very efficient staff (and friendly). Nice and quiet being an Adults Only location. Lovely to walk around the harbour after dinner - before the excellent hotel entertainment in the evening. Looking forward to May.

The level of professionalism and customer service of all staff at this hotel is quite incredible. Never have we experienced anything like it. The breakfast and dinner staff in particular were superb. The range and quality of food was flabbergasting. All the other customers that we spoke to said the same. The pool was fantastic, always peaceful and sun towels not allowed to be placed in the mornings to ‘bagsy’ the sun loungers! Always lots free at any time of the day anyway. Free canopies and cava around the pool every day! Note you do pay 3 euros a day if you want to use the room safe, but this wasn’t a problem. There was a fridge and coffee, tea making facilities in the room. If I went again to the hotel I would ask for a south or west facing room as we found the towels/swimwear weren’t dry by the morning (we faced east). The hotel is on a marina which is small but lovely, plenty of bars and restaurants for lunch around the marina, although we found the lunch items at the hotel bar the best quality and value. If you’re looking to hire a boat for the day (without a license) then book well in advance. Don’t leave it until you are there and miss out like we did! We did go on a day cruiser boat to Cala Galdana. I had read some poor reviews about the water quality on this beach and chose not to stay in this area, but wish I had ignored them as it was fantastic. Amazing sandy beach in a large cove shape and lots of greenery around. However, the local beach is a very short 5 minute stroll from the hotel and is quite small but very nice with a good large cafe. We went every morning. This is the perfect hotel if you want a quiet holiday sitting by a pool or beach to recharge your batteries. A very big thank you to every single member of staff who were amazing.
