Unfortunately, we were unable to start our trip due to the global IT problem. Our flights were canceled on the morning of the departure day and we could not be offered an adequate replacement flight. After the initial disappointment, we contacted the hotel and explained that unfortunately we cannot travel due to the current situation. The hotel was very inflexible and wrote to us directly saying that if we didn't show up, we would have to pay the costs for the entire duration. Even after repeated correspondence, no insight was available. We expected that we might not be refunded the entire amount or that we might have to pay a certain amount as compensation. But I think it's a shame to charge the full amount and not show any concessions.
