We booked a family holiday for 11,family from Australia joined us,it was the best holiday we have ever had,the staff from reception to the entertainment staff and the help and courtesy we we were given was fantastic, nothing was too much trouble,Charles in entertainment was outstanding,he spent so much time with the kids,he worked very long hours and was always cheerful, bar staff were most helpful and entertaining, they kept the Majorcan mojitos flowing lol...Tony's specials....there was a lovely married couple who waited on us and we've forgot there names but they looked after us every day and night...hotel arranged a mobility scooter which arrived in five minutes...we loved our stay here and can't recommend it highly enough, fantastic for the kids, the rooms are spotless and so are the surrounding areas...thanks for such a wonderful and memorable holiday..best ever

Stayed as a family of 3 in the first 6 nights of June in a superior apartment. Paid extra, (this is new), for a pool view and pool towels. We had the very top floor which was ok apart from the first night when we arrived to find the lift broken and had to carry luggage up 3 flights of stairs. Top floor also has no shade on the balcony so if you like that then request one lower. This was our 4th visit, having been before in 2014, 2021, and 2023. And it was not the same experience! With the departure of the lovely Rudi and no more evening buffet, what had also disappeared was any decent evening entertainment and bar service with a smile. Instead there was a kids show which we missed as eating out and when we returned they were just wrapping everything up at 10:30pm and said right kids that’s it and parents I’m sure you also want to go to bed and so off everyone dutifully went in a mass exodus. Where are the fantastic shows? The party in the pool? The BBQ night and parrot show? The lovely cocktails served til nearly midnight? The atmosphere? Oh dear, what has happened? Breakfasts were as good as usual, especially the lady who does the eggs who is lovely and will cook to order. However clearly breakfast supplies are so good we witnessed many tables taking piles of bread, eggs, and fruit and shoving them in their bags clearly for a cheap lunch. Many of the sunloungers need replacing and are not very clean, the step in the jacuzzi pool was broken, and the paddles for ping pong are worn. No money is being invested. Entertainment cut back, staff cut back. Why? Also on one night we had a meal booked at Churchills on the marina, which is excellent do go, yet reception appeared to have a broken phone and couldn’t call a taxi, although they did provide a very good shrug of the shoulders. We walked to the Cala Azul which we have also stayed in many times and got a taxi in 5 mins and a smile which was nice. Overall we enjoyed our holiday as we are fortunate to be able to eat out every night and Cala D’Or is great but this hotel has lost its sparkle for us. If you have very little ones then you may enjoy it especially if you like an early bedtime and a takeaway pizza for dinner which the hotel now provides. We will return to Cala D’Or but I think we had the best out of this hotel and so like Rudi we will also now retire!

Third Time Holiday At This Hotel. Disappointing Return. We had our first family holiday here in 2023 and returned in 2024. We honestly believed that we would go back every year. We raved about it so much that friends booked on this year, 15 of us checked in on 6th July for 9 nights. The pool area & slides were still great fun for the kids but they really missed the assault course & other activities throughout the day with Chocolate & Angela. There was very little entertainment in the evening, all quiet by 1030. The BBQ, pool party & Parrot Show was really missed. Although the new animation team are trying their best, the standard is nowhere near Chocolate & his team. They catered primarily for children but also put on shows for parents to enjoy, a massive loss for your hotel. The rooms were kept clean however, the pool deck could have been cleaned more, it was filthy at times. The prices at the bar have significantly increased, €4.80 for a sprite from a machine & €3.40 for a bottle of water. My daughter asked for a cup of ice and was told it would be €2...Crazy! I asked Jose to turn on the air con while eating inside by the pool table as the heat was stifling & was told it was broken. It was working fine in the rooms! I understand from talking to a member of staff that the hotel is now under new management and understand this will come with changes. However, it's unfortunate that the cutbacks & price increases are so evident as this was previously an amazing family holiday hotel.

We are just home from our 11 night stay, pool area is great for the children with great slides and not to deep pools perfect for little ones. However we had a problem with our shower when we arrived it was boiling and I mean boiling hot water coming from shower so we couldn’t get washed after our long day of travelling until the morning which I called for someone to fix and the man came and fitted a new shower which I feel should of been picked up before the day we arrived. I found the staff not approachable what so ever the reception staff are very rude! There was one lady at the snack bar area who must hate her job never smiles and makes you scared to ask for a drink! Which we are paying for, we then went for breakfast the next day which we paid for the 11 days we stayed which was to be served till 10.30am at 10.15 the staff turned of the coffee machine which my husband and I wanted to take a coffee out to sit near the bar area which was open all day, when I asked the lady in the breakfast area can I have a coffee to take away I was then shouted at in Spanish saying closed closed! Which I found extremely rude after the money we spent on this holiday. We never once seen anyone clean the pool the whole time we were there, the floor was washed once in our stay round pool area, sadly my son became ill with a really bad ear infection which on two occasions we got not fit to fly certificates from the doctor and had to extend our stay until he was better, understandably the hotel was then full after our 11 nights stay we had no where to go which we then had to arrange through our insurance, I asked the rude man at reception can you help us with somewhere to stay or areas you could recommend since yous are full to of been given a shrug of the shoulders no I can’t. We eventually got somewhere to stay and went to collect our bags from luggage room from not even a lift of the head to say thank you for your stay hope your son is better soon or I hope you find somewhere for your son to rest his head! As a business owner I would be appauled if my staff approach customers like this! Lastly this hotel is extremely expensive for a small bottle of water is €3.60 which at the beginning of the holiday we got a large bottle for €2.50 on our first night So strange! Cola from the machine is €5! They also charge €2 for ice!!! Which we were charge for at the bar. Lastly I would like to give a huge shout out to the entertainment staff without them this would of been a disaster of a hotel! We had 2 boys and a girl who took the children’s entertainment my daughter loved the young girl who always greeted her every morning with the most infectious smile! Also Charles was non stop with the children you got him the same mood every single day 100% shows up to his job! And my son did tell me the other boys name however i wouldn’t like to spell wrongly but he was just fantastic with the kids too! He got everyone involved and no one was left out of any activity they

Returning customers here. We were very glad to see the place is still as clean and feels as safe as last year. The standard of breakfast is still excellent and I feel it’s definitely one of the best hotel breakfasts on offer. Unfortunately I did miss the evening Buffett and particularly the BBQ night. A good suggestion might be to bring back 1 BBQ night a week- I think that would draw in a crowd! We really like the new anamacion team and felt they were enthusiastic and engaging with the children, even playing with them till late in the night. Unfortunately, whilst we loved the extra dancing after the shows, the standard of the shows is just not the same. Last years shows were absolutely excellent and these circus type acts just became very samey. The Movie Night was a big miss for us too I’m afraid- most of the people had left without the first hour…I’m not sure that people come on holidays to watch a movie! The kids also missed Dino the mascot this year! Overall though still a great option

Stayed here in Sunmer 2023 and although we enjoyed ourselves, the place didn't feel quite the same. All staff were very friendly and helpful. The new animation team tried their best and done a good job. We stayed in a superior room again and once it again it was spot on apart from the showers constantly changing temperature( we were 3rd floor) but like others I'm putting this down to getting ready at peak times but none of my family recall this happening 2 years ago. We stayed self catering but the food we did try was pretty good quality. There is a great Supermarket just a few mins walk away which provides you with everything you need. I'll just add that there was an induction cooker in our room but 3 of the pans in the cupboard aren't compatible with induction cookers so that's a waste of time. A big point on us coming back again was the previous animation team and how good they were. The new animation team do a great job and are really enthusiastic but the old animation team were simply the best I've ever seen in these sort of holiday resorts. The atmosphere and activities they brought by the pool was brilliant and the shows at night were top notch. There isn't the same variety with the current animation team and there's only 1 big pool inflatable instead of the 3 inflatable activities they had previously. We were also disappointed that there were no "big" inflatables allowed in the pool this time round as this was another previous big plus. All other positives other reviewers mention are correct. We enjoyed ourselves but felt the place was different but for those going for a 1st time you won't know any different.

I have just returned from a week at Cala d'or Playa apartments, along with my husband and two sons, my mum, brother, and sister in law. We had a fantastic time!! The location is great, in a quiet, residential area but a short 5-10 minute walk from the bars and restaurants. The nearest supermarket is only 2 mins out the front of the hotel, directly opposite the kids' play park which had go karts, bungee trampolines and bouncy castles. Cala Gran Beach is a 2 minute walk out of the back gates by the park and is worth a visit! The rooms are spotless! Cleaned every other day to a high standard. The rooms are modern and the beds are super comfortable! The air conditioning was the best we have ever had in a hotel! Which was a god send, given the fact it was scorching hot! It was so nice to be able to go back to a chilled room to escape the heat! Unfortunately, our shower wasn't great. The pressure was weak, and the temperature wasn't consistent, but we put this down to the fact that the hotel was very busy and we were showering at peak times. Our room was in block b, which we found to be lovely and quiet. So if you are travelling with young children, this would be a good option. The pool area was a huge hit with our boys! They had so much fun on the slides. It'ss a real shame that it doesn't open until 10am, especially as the sun is so hot so early. I think 9am would be much better? Im afraid to say, you have to reserve a bed here unless you dont want one. The hotel forbids reserving them, but there aren't enough for everyone. We got up early each morning and put towels down by 7:15, by this time most of the ones along the poolside were already gone. We would always be down on our beds no later than 8:30am. I would suggest that if people aren't on their beds by 8:30 - the towels get removed. There were people that thought it was acceptable to put a towel down and then rock up to the pool after lunch!! The lifeguard doesn't turn up until just after 10am. I only saw them putting signs out once. If you dont want people reserving loungers, I think the only way to stop it would be to chain them up until the pool opens? People can then decide if they want to que earlier for a bed? Im sure everyone has an opinion on this? I have marked down one star for this reason, and for the fact that the parasols are ridiculous! They are huge and have to be shared with a number of other beds. Which means that if you want sun and want to put the parasol down, you then have to take away some else's shade. Not ideal! I think a smaller parasol per two beds would be much better? There is an option to choose a sun lounger on a row without the huge parasols and just buy your own from the shop. I saw a few others doing this. The food that we had here was great! We were self-catering, so we ate out in the evenings most of the time, but we had lunch at the hotel a few times, and it was lovely! Freshly prepared and well priced. The cocktails are amazing! But they are expensive
