Sol Cala d'Or

Stayed here for seven nights in a high room overlooking the pool. Excellent room with a great view. Pool was a nice size and clean. Also no problem getting a sun lounger. Hotel was clean and staff were all very friendly and helpful. This hotel is situated in easy access to the town centre where there are lots of restaurants and shops. Only criticism is that the Bar does close very early so you are forced to go elsewhere if you want a late drink. Also the pool opens at 10am and closes at 7pm, maybe these times could be lengthend ?. Overall a lovely hotel in an ideal location. Tip is go for a room that overlooks the pool as the out facing rooms can be noisy at night due to the two music bars near this hotel. Will visit again, loved our stay, thank you.

My only advice if you are booking this place is that if you have young children who may want to sleep early, maybe ask for a room on the side that does not sit nearest to the Eden bar. Apart from this the hotel was absolutely beautiful and really exceeded expectations. The staff made us feel really welcome. It was one of our parties birthdays whilst we was there and they left him a card, cake and cava to say happy birthday which was a really nice touch. Rooms cleaned every 2 days, it is near everything you could possibly need. The food at the bar is good for lucky, breakfast is reasonable. Never any struggle to get a sunbed which was really good, even as a party of 9 we always managed to get one and that was not reserving beds and getting out at around 11am. Attached pics of rooms, very clean and every amenity you could possibly need. Air conditioning was a god send Definitely would stay again, whole family loved.

Wow! What a wonderful find these apartments were. It was our third time to Cala dor, but first to these apartments and we will absolutely being staying again, infact already booked to come back next year. I was worried after reading some reviews, but we didn't experience any issues. We arrived early and were greeted by happy smiley faces who already seemed to know who we were. The room wasn't quite ready but we were guided to where we could leave our luggage and get something to eat. I'd requested a low floor room as I have mobility issues and also a celebration package for my daughters birthday and our anniversary. Both requests were delivered beautifully. We had a ground floor apartment that was straight onto the pool. The rooms were on the small side for our family of 4 (17 and 14 year old) but it's a base for us and we managed fine. The bathroom was beautiful. If there had been a little more storage space the room would have been perfect but we managed to squeeze everything into the one wardrobe. The pool is wonderful and we never had an issue with sunbeds. We even managed to get them at 2pm after spending the morning exploring the resort. The photo I've added was taken at 11am and there's loads of free sunbeds. There were some ignorant families reserving beds then going off to the beach for the day but like I said, there was never an issue for us getting some. I can't praise the staff enough. Everyone worked so hard and with a smile on their face. Everything is immaculate and the cleaning team do a great job. Food and drink from the pool bar is great. And reception staff were all so friendly and welcoming. The best for us was it was so peaceful. No noisy entertainment around the pool or on a night. There's plenty of places locally that provide entertainment if you want it but it was good to come back to a peaceful place. If you are considering booking, do it. You won't be disappointed unless you enjoy noisy, busy, active holidays.

A good hotel. Staff were very friendly. Always said hello to me and my daughter. Room was a good size. Whole complex was clean and tidy. 5 minute walk to beach, shops, and restaurants. Plenty of restaurants to chose from. Prices vary from reasonable to very expensive.

Just returned from a week’s stay at these apartments, we felt very lucky to be allocated to the top floor apartment that had its own huge sun terrace with sun loungers. Apartment was very spacious and had everything we needed to enjoy a self catering stay. Kettle, toaster ,fridge, microwave oven and hob in the kitchen area. Shower was excellent and very modern bathroom. Air conditioning excellent in bedroom and lounge area. We had a view of the pool and the other side of the terrace overlooked the children’s play park and the Elsmerelda area of the resort. Staff friendly and a nice bar area to get drinks and snacks. Please be warned that this time of the year all sun-beds were taken well before 8am which was disappointing of the guests rather than the hotel. Great pool though. We used the sun terrace a lot and walked to the beach literally 3 minutes away, we also used the beaches at Cala Ferrera and Elsmerelda which were 5-10 minutes walk away.

We had a nice welcome at reception and we had a room in the “attic” up some steep stairs when entering the room. It was quite nicely appointed and clean. We did not eat or drink at the pool bar. It looked okay. The main problem with this hotel was the pool area which was totally packed and sunbeds were laid out in a regimental manner - side by side - with no privacy whatsoever. It was terrible. And it was exceedingly hard to find a sunbed available. The area around the hotel was lovely and there was a fantastic beach nearby but the pool area was the huge downfall of this hotel.

We stayed at this lovely hotel from 11th to 18th May ‘24, and we had a great time. There was a problem on checking in at 3am and, after a tiring journey which was no fault of the hotel, it made us expect the worse. We were warmly greeting by the night reception, who gave us a detailed explanation of where our apartment was. (Up the lift, along the corridor, up another lift, along a corridor). On opening the door we immediately knew the room hadn’t been made up, so left husband there whilst I went all the way back to reception to get another room. All the way back to the original room to collect husband, luggage, etc, back along the corridor, down a lift, along a corridor. The apartment we eventually settled in to, 306, was excellent, newly refurbished with a view onto the street at the front of the hotel, which suited us as we’re not pool people! We had a lovely large lounge and well equipped kitchenette, and stairs to the upper floor led to a large bedroom with the biggest bed I’ve ever seen, and a clean modern bathroom with ample shelves for all bathroom ‘bits’. We didn’t need to use the air conditioner so can’t comment on its efficiency, the shower always had plenty of hot water but the control was very very finely tuned, it was easy to get blasted with boiling hot or freezing cold water if it wasn’t adjusted properly. This could be very dangerous for young children. Towels were beautifully clean and fresh smelling and the provided toiletries were good quality, especially the shampoo and conditioner. We didn’t use the pool or dining/snack bar facilities at all but it all looked clean and inviting. All the staff, including the cleaning ladies, greeted us with a friendly ‘Ola’ , and went over and above to help with any queries we had. The checking out luggage holding facilities were well thought out, with clean shower and changing facilities, again with towels and toiletries provided. Would we stay here again? DEFINITELY! We enjoyed every second, and the central location of the hotel suited us perfectly. Thank you Sol Cala D’or apartments.

A lovely little apartment, just a stones throw away from the centre of Cala d’Or. Basic but all that’s needed - clean and tidy rooms and area. Nice feel to the place and beautiful greenery. The staff are very friendly. Would 100% stay here again.

Just returned from a lovely family holiday staying in the Sol Cala D’Or apartments. The rooms were clean and of a good standard. The pool area was very nice if pretty busy. We stayed on a selfcatering basis and the kitchen had enough crockery, cutlery to make breakfast or lunch, this is all you need as it is within a 10minute walk of a large variety of very good restaurants. The nearest beach is less than a 5 minute walk so all in all it is a great location
