The decoration is quite old, and the breakfast is simple, but the location is excellent, very close to the pier, and it is very convenient to go to the night market and supermarket. There is also a lagoon nearby, so it is also very close to play with the kids.

I had deluxe sea view double room.Very nice view.The best location,the shore broadwalk is just next to the hotel(can see at my balcony).I’ve read reviews saying it’s old,but actually it’s maintained in acceptable manner.Don’t expect luxurious 5stars design,it’s more like resort style hotel.The pool is big,with a small heated pool.Gym is small but sufficient,always empty.The rooms are clean, tidied up daily.Be careful the bathtub only has half glass covered up, no flooding would happen if being careful. Very nice room though. Helpful and nice front desk staff. Very good for value.

We recently spent two nights at the Pacific Hotel Cairns and found it to be good value, well located and clean. The room was modern and the beds really comfortable. The only downside was the view onto the parking lot but we didn't book to enjoy the view from the room so that was fine. Also have a nice buffet breakfast at a reasonable price. We look forward to going back again soon.

Advantages: Good location. Opposite is the fig tree playground, which is popular with children. It is also very close to the free public swimming pool (cairns esplanade lagoon). There is ** on the 1st floor. Breakfast is served from 6:30 to 12:00, and is served a la carte (Western coffee). It is a wise choice to choose to include breakfast. The hotel was renovated in 2001. It also has fans, blinds and curtains, which are unique.
Disadvantages: Because the rooms are separated by blinds, there is no sound insulation between the rooms. The shading effect is not good. The bed was soft and the pillows were uncomfortable. The service level can be improved further because the check-out date is postponed and multiple check-ins are required, which cannot be done at the front desk at once. Different waiters clean the room differently. Sometimes they don't provide free water, and sometimes they don't change bath towels. Fortunately, if you call and ask for it, they will get it. The cost is the most expensive among the surrounding hotels.

One of the high-end hotels closest to the coastline, the hotel has complete facilities, a beautiful lobby, good service, old-fashioned room facilities, and a good balcony view. There is no bottled water in the room, but there is free lemonade in the lobby, just bring a cup. But there is free capsule coffee in the room, many kinds of tea bags, which is very good. You need to bring your own disposable slippers. The location is super good, just a few minutes walk from Nightmarket, surrounded by restaurants and shops, but the closing time is relatively early.

We arrived at the hotel around 1.30pm and we were able to check in straight away, the girl on reception was very friendly and explained where our room was as there are 2 towers . We were on the 10th floor with a city view. Our room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. Loved how they are helping with environmentally keys for your door which are just round bamboo disks and also having no plastic bottles in the fridges, just glass bottles. All tv programs were free so we’re able to watch new release movies and free wifi . We had booked a holiday package , so we also had free car parking and a $250 credit to use at any of their hotels . Would definitely stay here again .

This is definitely a place that is orientated more towards families rather than couples. What was good was the friendly staff throughout the resort, the food and beverage service and the convenient underground parking. Stayed in a deluxe king room on the fifth floor overlooking Cairns city which appears to have been recently upgraded. Room smelt damp on entry and after the first shower it was evident why. It is hard to believe that someone designed the shower so that water flowed directly onto the floor and out into the living area even when you had the least amount of water flow possible. Wee bit of a design flaw I would suggest. Also, when booking a King size bed it would be a good idea to ask guests if they want a second bed in the room along with connecting rooms. I personally have no wish to have connecting rooms unless I am staying as a family. This door along with the front door were not particularly well sealed and you could here plenty of noise from outside and next door. The balcony is marketed as being intimate in yet has one chair and being a connecting room has nothing between you and your neighbours balcony. Hardly intimate. Based on the reviews I am sure this place is perfect for families however, there are better choices for couples elsewhere in Cairns.

We have spent 4 nights in this Double Tree Hotel and checking out today. In general hotel is very basic not meeting my expectations-
- breakfast is so basic and boring, not much variety
- room is standard
- have requested for wake up call the hotel receptionist was forgot - lucky we are not late for early flight
- reception also forgot to book the Taxi

This is the most beautiful and best hotel I have stayed in Australia this time. It has a Japanese style. You can't just use tap water. Two bottles of glass bottles of water are provided on the first floor every day (one bottle was broken by a child on the night of check-in, and the service staff quickly cleaned it up). Regarding breakfast, there will be birds flying in the restaurant to steal food, so don't sit outside for breakfast, but everyone can live in harmony with the birds. Other meals are eaten outside, so I don't know how the meals are. Of course, the breakfast is not as rich as that of domestic five-star hotels (this seems to be the same). Regarding the room: The pool view room I chose is simply full marks. You can see the sea and the swimming pool, and the children also like it. Regarding facilities: The swimming pool downstairs is the highlight of the entire hotel. The bottom of the pool is fine sand. The children like it very much, and the adults lie flat on the shore. It really meets the needs of parents like us who come to relax with children. In addition, there are many parks for children to play outside the hotel, which is very good. I read all the itinerary reviews for this trip, so I must take the time to write about these hotels and itineraries and recommend them to people like me who are going to a country for the first time! Finally, I would like to praise Cairns for being a good place to take children. It is not so commercial, and you can slow down and go around. The city is small and convenient to go anywhere. It is great to walk. There is also an outdoor swimming pool and Ferris wheel in the city center. This is my favorite place for my children and I on this trip. Highly recommended, I hope direct flights to Cairns will be restored as soon as possible!

This Motel was disgusting.It just smelt of cigarette smoke and a bottle of bleach.But the room was still dirty.The door did not lock properly.The shower had dirty shoe marks in it the fridge did not work and my food was spoiled.The bed was like a brick so uncomfortable and I only sat on it.I rang to get help with the fridge and they were not helpful at all.I had to move and spend more money on a motel.And still 2 wks later the manager won’t return my phone calls or emails will not refund my money.Highly recommend you never stay at this motel is absolutely disgusting.The fridge had mould in it.

GGuest UserCrystalbrook Bailey was my stopover hotel so I wasn't expecting anything flash etc however when I arrived I was pleasantly surprised how beautiful and modern this hotel is. Such a change to a lot of the older Cairns hotels. I felt like I was in a hotel in Melbourne! Check in was a breeze and staff were lovely, I was in my room in no time at all. There is alot of stunning modern artworks all throughout the building, very cool to find as you make your way to your floor. The room was beautiful and sufficient for a one nights stay, I could have easily stayed for longer! The location is great, in the city and close to the esplanade. I would definitely stay here again!

GGuest UserGreat food and friendly helpful staff. Although this building is quite old it has been reasonably well renovated and is very comfortable to stay at. I had to leave VERY early to catch a bus and was supplied with a box breakfast, most welcome at 5am. On my return from my trip to Karumba we found that my booking had been made incorrectly a week further ahead.on arrival at 7pm , very tired,I was very grateful that the duty manager was able to put me into a very nice room for the night, and I was able to have a delightful meal and catch up with the gorgeous Shoni who welcomed me back even though I looked and smelt like Robinson Caruso, would definitely go there again.

Llluulei2After hearing our angry complaints, the Japanese guy at the front desk helped us adjust the room and transferred to the room that matched the photo of our order. Although the area of the room did not reach the 39 square meters described on Ctrip's website, and there was no exhaust fan, it was very ventilated. The air is very good and the view is beautiful. It’s not mainly the aisle balcony. When we left the store, the attitude of the old gentleman at the front desk was also very good, but the attitude of the female staff was extremely bad.

TTraveller354“Resort” very out of the way compared to the things to do in town. Luckily we got a car and were able to go back and forth for relatively cheap, but can imagine the cost would rack up if you were to use Uber the whole time.
24h front desk service and we got an extra towel when we asked for it.
The outside area and pool looked really nice. This is clearly where the money has gone, though because of the weather we weren’t really able to make use of it. The rooms were very basic and rather old. Nothing impressive. Made us second guess why it was called a resort.
Finally, I’d you get a room overlooking the pool, you’ll get a beautiful view but quite a trek to get to the room as you have to walk around the entire building (room access is on the outside) .

GGuest UserThe personnel is helpful and friendly. The location is perfect and the bar/club is always busy. You can eat, drink and party all at the same place.
The air conditioning in the rooms was a bit too strong, and there is no controller to modify it. It's a centralised system.
The bed has to be done by yourself when arriving. Finding it done would be appreciated. A shelf and individual light in the bed would be really useful.
The building is very big and has enough room in the common areas and kitchen (which is busy at any time).
Services are fine overall.

The hotel staff was very polite and upgraded us to a mountain view suite. Both the bedroom and the living room can see the mountain view. It is very beautiful. It has 2 outdoor pools and spacious air-conditioned apartments. COMMENT In June 2023 We found our apartment 205 for 10 days to NOTt to be of 4star standard at all. PRO: The bedlinen and bathroom towels were very clean and of good quality. The air conditioning worked. The ceiling fans worked. The apartment was spacious. The fridge worked but bottom of door shelving missing. Inconvenient if you wanted to store water bottles etc. CONS: ” Each unit at the Edge has a flat-screen TV”., which was NOT working and had to be re-connected by guest. “Free Wi-Fi” NOT available in unit 205 – we were informed by office unless you wanted to stand outside of office area to connect. Apartment was dark, - lighting in all rooms inadequate and woefully dim and outdated. Lighting in laundry area was badly positioned – and here there were no instructions on how machine worked. *Vertical Blinds in poor state and need maintenance or replacement. *All doors (screen and glass sliding) need maintenance to run smoothly. *The furniture was inappropriate (apart from 2 leather sofas) and badly arranged. *The ambience was noisy. The decor throughout the apartment – wasn’t.!! Except 2 pictures hung almost at ceiling. – 1 small mirror in dark hallway., and a wall clock. (All 15 years or more in age) *No rugs or furnishings to soften the décor or the echo sounding throughout the apartment. *Coffee table in bad state. *Dining table satisfactory but serviced by 2 different types of chairs. *The bathroom needed maintenance/upgrade (and pictures I have taken show much damage to outer base of shower, mould along the wall.) *The kitchens come equipped with very basic essentials. A microwave and dishwasher., utensils for cooking on very old worn stove. “Some units have balconies with sea or mountain views”, others, like ours, at 205 had overgrown foliage with NO views. The Edge Apartments Cairns has an outdoor entertainment area with barbecue facilities and free on-site private parking. *The Rain forestation Nature Park is 11 miles from The Edge Apartments. Kuranda Scenic Railway and Skyrail Rainforest Cableway are only a 10-minute drive away.

From the time I entered, friendly and welcoming. Quick well organised checkin. The information provide was helpful amd clear. Ample parking off street. The hotel itself is very close to Private hospital, city centre and great coffee shop. The room was spaciouse, very clean and very well maintained. A relaxing stay.

GGuest UserThis was my second time staying at this hotel. The first was a much better experience. It seems it all depends on the room. This time we got room 101, on the corner of the building and next to the entrance gate and more importantly, next to a street intersection. It was quite noisy all night as trucks and busses accelerate from the intersection. I asked the desk clerk when we checked in if we could have a different room and he refused, even though other rooms were available. I couldn't quite figure out his reasoning. Anyway, this room also sufferers from a very weak air conditioner and is a little smaller than the last room we got (room 119). Basically, the hotel is fine, but your experience may differ based on the specific room.
