The room was very clean. There was a ********* lady at the front desk who could speak Chinese. The hotel has a special menu every day. When we arrived, it was steak night and the steak was quite big.
There was room cleaning service. The environment was very quiet.
It was very close to the pier and it was very convenient to eat around.

All the other things are really nice, but the wifi cannot be connected in my room. I asked help from the reception, after they checked the wifi connecting conditions, they kindly changed room for me. However, when I came back to the room at night, the wifi cannot be connected again for the rest of the night and the morning after. Also, there are no provides for stuff like shaving kit, body cream. But their service is good and kind.

The 2 bedroom apartment suits us (2 couples) very well. It has more than enough space. The apartment was well equipped. The location is also good, very close to supermarket, also not too far from reef terminal (20 mins walk).
However the wifi was terrible, very bad. The beds were just about okay. Also the tiny quantity of toiletry supplies bothered us as well.

Quiet and good location hotel. All rooms are recently remodeled with comfortable bed and a fridge. Room is spacious and clean. Big smart TV. Nice small swimming pool. WiFi connection is not very stable, on/off. Front desk staffs seemed nice. Overall a good experience.

The service was helpful and efficient particularly Paul.
The bedroom 100 was an inner one with no window as such. But there was a window to a wall with 2 plants hanging down. It was a perfect place to sleep a bit like a cave in a way perfect just to sleep.
As far as I could see there was only one elevator coming and going also to the roof bar. So there was a wait here. Stairs would have been preferred.
The restaurant was fine too on the top floor with excellent views.
Location excellent with close proximity to the lagoon for swimming and of course the esplanade.

Rooms are nice and clean although We wanted single large bed but we offered two separate ones
They are very particular about check out at 1000
Most of the hotels at least give one hour relaxation but they were adamant at 10
No room cleaning was done on the second day and the lockers did not work
Breakfast is quite standard nothing exceptional
Overall a comfortable stay but I really wish to check out at 1100

Great hotel and room. We stayed in the King executive room which was very spacious and had a big balcony. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The beds were little unfortunately but overall I had a great experience.

I arrived at the end of November, the beginning of the rainy season, and arrived at 4am in the pouring rain, and arrived at the hotel at around 6am. I was wondering what to do when the hotel was closed, but someone staying there opened it for me.
The hotel was clean and very relaxing.
They allowed me to check in early and were very accommodating, but there were almost no amenities, just a bar of soap, shampoo, and one small bottle of conditioner.
No towel changes or additional amenities for the first 7 days...
I thought it was humid in the summer, but I thought it can't be helped because towel changes are rarely done in Australia (due to water shortages and to protect resources).
I thought the location was about 10 minutes from the main area, but it was quite far with a stroller.
Considering the hotel staff's attitude and cleanliness, I think it was pretty good.

This was my second time staying at this hotel. The first was a much better experience. It seems it all depends on the room. This time we got room 101, on the corner of the building and next to the entrance gate and more importantly, next to a street intersection. It was quite noisy all night as trucks and busses accelerate from the intersection. I asked the desk clerk when we checked in if we could have a different room and he refused, even though other rooms were available. I couldn't quite figure out his reasoning. Anyway, this room also sufferers from a very weak air conditioner and is a little smaller than the last room we got (room 119). Basically, the hotel is fine, but your experience may differ based on the specific room.

JJIANYINGIt was a surprise after checking in. 2 super large viewing balconies, and 180-degree floor-to-ceiling glass in the living room provide sweeping views of the sea and surroundings. We have a complete set of kitchen appliances, such as a washing machine, a dryer, and a very pleasant New Year's Eve. The location is also very good, very close to the pier, and the surrounding supermarket restaurants are very close. This is an apartment we lived in Australia so well, s 4 is awesome, highly recommended

GGuest UserA well positioned Hotel on the airport end of the esplanade. Room was spacious & comfortable, bathroom was clean & had great shower. Food both at breakfast & the bar menu in the evening was delicious with a good choice, would recommend the steaks + there’s no a good wine selection in accompaniment.
Staff are all very welcoming, knowledgeable & helpful with local tour advice. We had a thoroughly pleasant stay here & wouldn’t hesitate to come back.

PPHILLIP JAMESThe Mantra Hotel has outstanding location. It is directly in front of the Woolworths supermarket - the best option in central Cairns. It's also virtually opposite (the esplanade side)the lagoon public beachfront swimming pool. Finally it's just a 5 minute walk from Cairns Cruise Terminal, with outstanding day trips to Green Island, Fitzroy Island and the Reef. I booked a sea view room. When you enter the room, you don't see the ocean, but a building across the road. However, the view from the balcony was amazing. The balcony overlooks the main features of lagoon on the sea front. During the day it is great view - the lagoon pools and sea in the background. At night you cannot see the sea (as to be expected) but you have the amazing lagoon lights, which makes it very desirable and even romantic. Our room was at the end of block, which overlooks a shopping mall (no car noise) - looking right from the balcony is the lagoon view and looking left is a mountain view. However, from 2:00pm to 6:00pm the sun comes directly into the balcony area, which means it unusable until sun sets. Of course if you don't mind baking in the sun on the balcony, this is not really a concern. The room itself is pretty basic. The mini fridge of OK and TV has domestic channels only - no cable TV for BBC/CNN. The bathroom is of a good size. There is combined shower & bath. However, when using the shower, it can slightly flood this bathroom. A shower curtain may be desirable because the glass panel is not sufficient enough. At $225 per night this hotel was not cheap and you can better deals by coming in the off-season OR going bit further down the esplanade, and choosing another hotel. The Mantra does have its own pool and it is wonderfully heated, with normal deck chairs you would expect at 4 star hotel. However, the pool gets very little natural sunlight, because it of its location between 2 buildings. Overall, the hotel has amazing location, and it is still recommended, despite the shortcomings mentioned. My final note: When we checked in, I was impressed with the level of service provided by the receptionist. She had a very welcome attitude and a wonderful personality.

ZZperanbThe reception staff are helpful. I stayed in a bungalow room this time, but in Cairns where prices are high, the price is quite reasonable. The beds were comfortable. Shower is shared. There is a laundry and a place to hang laundry on site. There was a pool but the water was dirty. Many campers were stopped. It takes less than 10 minutes on foot to the nearest bus stop, and it costs about $ 3 to the city in about 5 minutes from the bus stop. Walking to the city, but less than an hour. There are no shops around, so you can shop at a supermarket in the city. Drinks are sold at the front desk. Be careful as the walk from the bus stop is dark at night.

GGuest UserClean and tidy, complete facilities, and a good location. However, the front desk is not on duty 24 hours a day, which seems to be the case for local express hotels. If you need to store your luggage, it is inconvenient. After 4 o'clock, the front desk will not be able to take it out. If there is a one-day tour on the day of check-out, you need to plan the storage of your luggage carefully.
In addition, we booked it for Chinese food, but the Chinese restaurant was closed from Sunday afternoon to Tuesday morning (I can't remember the exact time), so we didn't eat it anyway. It is recommended to indicate the business hours of the Chinese restaurant in the hotel introduction.
