I booked THEN read the Tripadvisor reviews and was apprehensive, but room 201 was exactly what we hoped. Clean, enough space, everything worked, a bit out of date-looking (which is not a problem for us). The man at the desk was extremely friendly and helpful, and he said the wifi might be touch and go but it was fine for us, and we rocked up to hopefully stow our luggage at 10:15am but the room was ready so they just let us in early! Very convenient! The shower that other reviews claim was mouldy has been recently replaced, definitely the most modern-looking and clean feature of the apartment. I kind of wanted a bath but you can’t have everything I guess. Make sure you read the fine print that there’s no oven in the kitchenette, I didn’t read closely enough. The hot water pressure & temperature was always fantastic. Couple tiles cracked in bathroom but who cares. Maybe the worst aspect was how echoey the hallway and rooms were, poor soundproofing, so we were all up in our neighbours’ business but we did get used to it. We were provided a sachet of laundry powder for the washing machine, and there was a whole bottle of dishwashing liquid, lots of cooking utensils – happy with these. No oil for cooking but I am not really sure about the etiquette for this. We would stay here again for the price and location; we were looking to save money on accommodation and this provided us with everything we fundamentally needed in an apartment. Thank you Inn Cairns!
