Ty Castell Guest House

Location & Accessibility: The property is centrally located near Caerphilly town centre, castle, and train station, with free on-site parking and a quiet, residential neighborhood.

We stayed at Ty Castell for 1 night. We chose this b&b based on location and reviews. We wanted to stay outside of, but close to, Cardiff. It was easy to find and lived up to the reviews. What we expected is what we got. Ty Castell was very quiet. It's on a quiet street, in a residential neighborhood and with only a few rooms to make it quiet inside as well. This is our most important considerations as i'm a very light sleeper and avoid large hotels and city centers. We stayed in the cardiff castle room which is on the back of the house and very quiet. It was also spacious with a huge bathroom. We didn't use the large tub but did enjoy the walk-in shower that had plenty of room. Our friends stayed in the coch castle room which was a bit cozier and had a heated towel rack. It was also at the back of the house and so quiet. Steve had kindly pushed the beds together which he doesn't usually do for a single night. Breakfast was full welsh or continental if you preferred. It was served in a cheery front front room with large bay windows and plenty of light. Steve was very friendly and personable. The reasons I did not give a 5 star review is that there was no one to greet us when we arrived so we had to fend for ourselves. We had hoped to get some good restaurant suggestions. Also the rooms were clean but a bit worn (eg: a small bit of peeling wall paper in our room). That being said, we would stay here again if in this region and would have no problem recommending it to others.

A beautiful large old house, perfect as a guest house. In a perfect location close to town. Clean, simple lines not too ‘fussy’ but with a lovely homely feel. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable with an en suite. We had everything you could need in the room. Steve, the host was fantastic, making all his guests welcome and gave he first class service. A good hearty breakfast to start the day. We would definitely recommend Ty Castell to anyone travelling to Caerphilly and if we visit the area again will stay there again.
