Convenient and centrally sited, this modest hotel suited the needs of ourselves and our Swiss friends perfectly. The extensive (part-time?) staff were without exception friendly and helpful, and it was an additonal bonus to be able to park our car in the safely enclosed ourtyard.

This hotel is a 20-min walk from the train station or barely 5 minutes on the tram. Situated in the old part of Caen, it is in an ideal location for the average tourist wishing to explore the town on foot. A couple of grocery stores are available within 400 meters for those, like me, not wishing to take the offered breakfast ($). The welcome was professional but friendly. Key, payment, information was all dealt with efficiently. The room itself was at the back on the 1st floor, so reasonably quiet. Of a decent size, it was simply decorated (white walls and colored curtains) with basic but comfortable furniture. Bathroom was small but adequate with all that was needed. No problem with cleanliness. Good place to stay overall, in an excellent location, and reasonably priced.

A nice family friendly independent hotel within walking distance of the castle. The breakfast is a traditional French breakfast of breads and jams with cereals. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is also within easy walking distance of the resteraunt area where there is a good choice of cuisines. There is no parking at the hotel, but there is a large car park within 200m of the hotel. The Normndy beaches are within a 30 minute drive away.

My mother and I thoroughly enjoyed our 4 day break in the Hotel Du Chateau. From the lovely Cassandra’s friendly helpful welcome to the large clean room with comfy beds and automatic shutters to keep it dark and quiet at night, everything was just right and made for a very relaxing stay. It’s clean and modern but no frills (not even a tea and coffee tray). But the price reflects this for the lovely location, you could borrow things at reception and we didn’t need a kettle when we could wander out in the morning, to the view of the castle above us, for a coffee and croissant in one of the nearby cafes. We emailed to reserve one of the 3 parking spaces when we booked and it was well worth the €10 per night for the convenience right in the centre. A perfect getaway in a beautiful area of Normandy just 20 mins from the ferry from Portsmouth!

A Family run hotel with excellent service. Rooms and bathrooms are spotlessly clean. Good breakfast. Highly recommended and in a good position. It is within walking distance or the town and racetrack. I can definitely recommend this hotel.

We spent 3 nights here and were very happy with the room. The only thing missing was a kettle to make tea. But the price was surprisingly low for the quality and location. Our parking was at a 24 hour lot which was a 5 minute walk away. Many restaurants nearby. The castle was just up the hill from the hotel.

This hotel is ideally located as described by many reviews (transportation, restaurants, security and attractions in particular). The room is very clean and spacious with electric blinds and good soundproofing although the cries of the seagulls are very pleasant 😇 Photos of the rooms absolutely consistent with reality! Simple but effective breakfast and warm welcome, listening if you need advice!

Very attentive welcome by the staff (suitcase already put up in the room by the receptionist before our arrival). Room on the avenue side, well soundproofed, which would benefit from air conditioning, personalized decoration, as well as refreshing the bathroom (plastic shower curtain). Hearty breakfast, quiet.
