Le Chateau

Tonight was to be a rather special event, a "Wedding Anniversary", so decided to go somewhere special for Dinner. My Starter of Garlic Mushrooms was excellent, my Wife decided against a starter in order to leave room for Crispy Duck, while I ordered a Steak, hopefully "rare". It did take some time to arrive but we were in no hurry, so no problem. Her Duck was excellent but my Steak was very disappointing, it was TOUGH. During the Meal I was hoping I might be asked the usual question "is everything all right", this did not happen. Franky I could not cope so 75% was left untouched and when the plates were cleared I expressed my disappointment that the Steak was not rare and was very TOUGH! I normally eat anything and do not like complaining in Public. I was told the Chef maintained it was rare but no comment was made about it being TOUGH although in fairness I was offered another piece of Steak which I declined. Sorry but it was too late, the problem could have been so easily avoided had the table been visited soon after it was served. basic service in a Restaurant A very disappointing evening!

Great place which was super quiet. Lovely couple who run it. Nothing was too much trouble. Continental breakfast was really good. Room was comfortable and had everything I needed. Bathroom was modern and super clean. I wouldn’t hesitate to come back.

First visit to this restaurant but definitely not our last. We both chose from the weekend 3 course menu. Starters were ample and really tasty. We both had the trio of fish which came with plenty of vegetables Dessert again delicious We were really pleased with the service and price Thank you

100% recommended. Really lovely room (room 4), comfortable bed, and good facilities. Clean, tidy and quiet. The owner and staff were really helpful and friendly. We stayed for one night but wouldn’t hesitate to visit again. Breakfast was delicious, and the evening meal we had was also really lovely.

Great family run hotel, very friendly staff. Delicious freshly cooked weekend breakfast. Location was perfect and with free parking meant we could get around very easily.. Good access to all walks and locations nearby. Also great restaurant on site

Great place really nice rooms times ment we couldn't try the bistro unfortunately but owner n staff was great bar was nice and breakfast was superb thank you le château for nice stay will be looking forward to another stay in august this year around the bank holiday time

Had not seen family for a really long time so wanted a meal and peace to talk so family could catch up, well the Bistro Retaurant fitted the bill. The food was great,menu catered for all tastes, staff caring and helpful and so enjoyed having the set price as I wanted to treat everyone. Thank you all for a lovely meal look forward to visiting again soon.

A retirement do with 20 guests The team were excellent from the initial enquiry through to the actual evening . All queries or questions answered. Menu choices very good. On the night the private room was lovely and light and a lovely atmosphere Staff couldn’t have been more attentive and professional Easy payment for everyone at the end and a great venue
