A few pitfalls to be aware of - We did not receive immediate booking confirmation. This came through the next day. (Our check in date). No further communication was received at all. No advice property would be unattended or other access advice was received. A manager is apparently only there intermittently with unknown hours of attendance. We initially went to the accommodation and spoke with the manager who said we were too early to check in and return in an hour. No problem- we did that.. only to find the property unattended and in darkness , and after waiting over an hour no one had turned up. Luckily, another guest arrived from whom we could get the property’s internet password and email the general information email on the website. After another approx 30 mins from requesting access advice by email we finally received an email telling us how to get inside. Very frustrating. The ceilings are low in the hallways and rooms. The common areas lights are movement activated. Often you need to step a number of steps into the darkness in the hallways to get the lights on. Watch the ramps in the hallways though as the floor level drops. Both a bit unnerving getting up for the bathroom in the night!

Lovely rooms at a good price. Everything is spotlessly clean and the staff are very hard-working and kind. All the rooms are a bit different, so if you want more space you could pay a little more for a larger room, but we've been fine with basic double rooms. Apodaca Rooms is in a quiet street in the lovely old part of Cadiz, but inevitably people do make a noise when walking home on weekend nights, so the ear plugs which were supplied were essential and very useful. There's an attractive lounge for watching TV or reading at night. We'll definitely return for a third visit soon.

NEGATIVE • VERY small room • very noisy • There are no sheets, you have to cover yourself directly with the duvet. Terrible pillow • There is no TV, which for those of us who don't like nights on the street, is very good. Dirty room without pillow. 4 almost flat cushions. The bed is broken, the floor is lint and the lady who answers the phone is very rude. We didn't leave to avoid losing money, but it's clear that we will never return. Everything is disastrous. I hope they change ownership

The location is a 10! It is in the center, close to bars, squares, beautiful streets and a stone's throw from the sea. The staff is great, the cleaning is also great and, despite it being a shared bathroom, everything is always impeccable. No feeling of being in a hostel sharing rooms. It is a quiet, elegant, well-kept and very pleasant hostel to stay in. Thanks for everything! The only drawback is that you cannot access the area by car, but you can park 10 minutes away.

Terrible... I don't recommend it at all, if you want to suffer from insomnia every night, a lot of noise in the street, no soundproof windows, the most horrible thing that has happened to me in an accommodation, and the mattress was uncomfortable, you went to one side. My room was N3. If you want to have a good time, stay somewhere else.

Very modest accommodation. No bathroom or toilet in the room. Expensive for what it is. No glass either, so no way to make tea. Very average bedding. It may be the standard in Cadiz, to see, but we regret having paid in advance for 2 nights

No es un hotel. No hay recepción. Las llaves se recogen en cajas con código. Habitación sucia. No hay muebles en el cuarto de baño. Nos toco una toalla que olía muy mal. En el armario también olía mal. Entró una cucaracha en nuestra habitación. Caro por la calidad. No recomiendo.
