Pueblo Bonito Rose Resort & Spa - All Inclusive

The staff was AMAZING. I couldn’t have asked for a better location. I got home yesterday and I’m already planning my next trip!

Nice rooms. Great views. Comfortable beds. Food options were average, buffet wasn’t the greatest.

Used to be a nice property years ago. In need of an update. Property is in need of attention.

Our vacation started off with what seemed like a nice upgrade — we were offered an oceanfront suite at the Rose Resort for an extra $65 a night. Unfortunately, it quickly turned into a frustrating experience. The room had a strong, unpleasant odor — a mix of dirty mop water, mildew, and mold — and was located directly next to a construction site at the neighboring resort, so we were subjected to nonstop hammering and drilling. While the view was beautiful, the stay was miserable. We reported the issue to the front desk early on, and they allowed us to check out another room. Sadly, it had the same musty, damp smell. Eventually, we were offered the option to transfer to their sister property, the Sunset Resort. We took a taxi to check it out (since the hourly shuttle was fully booked) and found it to be a much cleaner, more modern resort. The front desk staff at Sunset were helpful, but informed us we’d need to go back to Rose to coordinate the transfer. Back at Rose, we spoke to the supervisor, Maria, who told us we wouldn’t be able to transfer until the next day and to come back at 9 a.m. We ended up spending most of that night outside on a chaise lounge because of the smell — uncomfortable and unpleasant, especially when the construction noise started again promptly at 8 a.m. At 9 a.m. we returned to the front desk and were thankfully able to transfer to Sunset. I had a great room with ocean view. I could also see the pool. It was a very pleasant experience. I plan on visiting again.
