The suites are located on southern beach ***** of the island, accessible by 2 buses or a taxi from the ferry port. Staff was very friendly, although not always aware of things when we asked some questions, but they did endeavour to find out. The bathroom does not have an exhaust fan, and needs some work and the rooms could do with some fresh paint. But overall very nice and comfortable, clean large outdoor pool, plenty of send beds, and umbrellas and beds directly on the beach with lifeguard on duty. The breakfast was tasty too with plenty of options. Would stay again

Best thing about this hotel is the location but it unfortunately gets let down by the reservation and front of house team in particular. Very unwelcoming, couldn’t seem to care less and do not bother informing the guests about any of the restaurants or facilities and policies at check in. After confirming a sea view room twice I arrive to be told we don’t have one. Spent 45 minutes going back and forth with my elderly parents and tired toddler waiting to only then eventually get the room I originally booked. They still list facilities that no longer exist or are closed for renovation and do not inform you of this at the time of booking. We were not able to have dinner on our first night or lunch at the pool on our last day because no one informed us that you had to make a reservation for both the day before a certain cut off time. Breakfast is very basic and again staff need to be promted to clear dirty plates and cups. All is all apart from the location this hotel experience left much to be desired.

We booked the hotel and paid online. Afterwards got an email which said restaurant was closed for renovations. I explained to them that my husband is a 100% disabled veteran and we can’t go 600+ meters to restaurant. They offered me to cancel and won’t change. They absolutely charged me and now playing a game. Very sad to have make money with people’s disabilities. I can not recommend.

I am currently enjoying my last full day at the hotel with my family. It was the ideal location and hotel to spend family holidays with a 3-year old toddler. The hotel itself is conveniently located a few meters away from the beach. The apartments were renovated recently and are well equipped with 2 lcd big screen tvs and AC. The bed itself is super comfortable and there’s a sofa bed which is handy. All of the ambience is super relaxed and calm. All of the staff at the reception, bars and restaurant is very friendly and welcoming, always doing their best to accommodate their guests. Just to give one example, one of the pool bar attendants went to the breakfast kitchen (which was closed in the afternoon) just to get a yogurt for our toddler. We also had an issue with our room and were promptly given the option to move. The meals are one of the best things in this hotel. Every lunch there are freshly grilled fish and meat options by the pool. They also have other a-la-carte options throughout the day. Dinner is superb, every night a different 3 course gourmet meal, served at the restaurant. They cater different meals for the kids as well, if necessary. The all inclusive plus option is definitely worthy, because it gives us access to all of this and much more, like access to the spa, sun beds at the beach and late checkout (still to be seen tomorrow). For those who look for more animation and fun, there’s full access to the Vila Baleira Hotel which is at a walking distance. I definitely will recommend Vila Baleira Suites to my friends and family, and hope to return in the future.

Me and my family stayed at Vila Baleira Suites in an 'All Inclusive Plus' scheme, between the 14th and the 21st of August. It was great. We give 5 stars to the reception support and to the waiters at the restaurants in Vila Baleira Suites. Dinners at Restaurant Grão, with 'Menu Degustação ' were absolutely supperb. Some parts of the hotel have been redecorated and look great. Corridors and bedrooms still need to be improved. In any case, bedrooms are acceptable with minimum confort.

The hotel is in an excellent location. However, wheelchair access is via ramps that are too steep, both to the restaurant, pool and beach. Furthermore, it is incomprehensible that, on an All Inclusive basis, it is necessary to purchase another package to use thatched roofs and sun loungers on the beach, which can only be accessed via the beach or through the hotel itself.

We stayed at Vila Baleira Suites in July 2024 for 15 days on the advice of the travel agency, telling us that it was a truly beautiful hotel, worthy of a 4-star hotel. Never was a statement so wrong. The only positive thing is the location directly on the sea with a splendid beach. Let's get to the sore points, the restaurant breakfast space was not adequate, i.e. the room could not contain the guests, in fact for a few days we had to wait for some guests to finish and then sit down, we showed up early in the morning to find a place. For lunch, the restaurant by the pool (you could have opted for the restaurant at the Vila Baleira, but we skipped it because you had to leave the building where we were and walk about 300 meters on the road, and because of the queues both to get in and to get the self-service food, not to mention the confusion) by reservation, 2 shifts at 12.30 and 13.30, woe betide you if you arrive 10 minutes late and then eat quickly to leave your place for the next guests and only covered by glass plates that did not protect you from the sun or the heat, with a menu that you could not choose (either eat this soup or skip the window). Instead, for dinner, you could choose whether to have lunch there in the bar reception area, always by reservation, or at 19.00 or 20.00 and with a fixed menu with no choice of starter, first course, second course, dessert and while you were having dinner, guests coming up from the sea or from the pool would pass you by and always with the idea that you would have to leave your place for the next guests. English: We gave up and had dinner at the Vila Baleira, enduring queues of about 20 people in front almost every evening and subsequent queues for the self-service, crazy. Not to mention the cleanliness, food on the floor and sometimes it seemed like we were skating on the dirt that was there. As for the bedroom, it was really large, with very dated 70s furniture, bathroom without a window or fan so you can imagine... cleanliness beyond approximation, sheets changed after 13 days, air conditioning broken and after our complaints (4 days to get a response) we were offered to change rooms, or a portable air conditioner, we opted for the second one as we had a sea view on the top floor and they would have given us another one without a sea view and on a lower floor, (to add insult to injury) In the seaside area with a truly beautiful private beach, shame that when we arrived and for about 5 days there were 15 umbrellas which later became 60 so the calm and tranquility that were there before was lost. In my opinion, Vila Baleira suites does not deserve four stars but not more than 2 stars.

Definitely a nice place but with a lot of room for improvement. First room above the restaurant ... a little noisy. Second room on the road where there is work in progress and ants. Extremely helpful staff as long as you don't arrive 5 minutes early at the restaurant where your table is already free but they kick you out. Rather monotonous cuisine and not very comfortable to move from one structure to another (also forced to reach the various meeting points). Both Italian and Portuguese entertainment poorly organized for kids. Only darts and bingo tournaments. No volleyball or soccer field. Paddle for a fee and the same for the umbrellas on the beach. Something rather unusual in an all-inclusive village.
