Azur Byron Bay

Gorgeous villa. Bali vibes! Owner was very accomodating. Spa was lovely and less than a 10 min walk to town, no need to drive! Pool was a lil cool and only enough space in car park for 2 hours. OSP was free and lucky we got a park there :) Would stay again.

Stayed for 5 nights. Good location - short walk into the town and beach. The villas are spacious with good bed & bathroom. All open to courtyard with small pool. No housekeeping service during 5 day stay. I had to ask for clean towels & toilet rolls - bins never emptied or bedding changed. MAJOR building work next door - 2 houses being build & definitely not near completion - beware as they start early! Definitely spoilt our stay as you couldn’t really use outdoor space during the day.

We stayed in one of the villas and the room was incredibly comfortable, and the bed heavenly. There was an incident with the managers absconding the day after we arrived, and left no breakfast out as per what's on offer. But the owners brother was there and did everything he could to make sure we were ok and looked after despite the issues that were unfolding. The location of the property is perfect, a short stroll to town and the beach. The pool looked lovely but it was too cold to swim unfortunately. It was our first time in Byron and we loved it. We are hoping to return in the summer months. I wish the owners and the new manager the best of luck with this property as it really is a gem!

I booked this place for a March 2022 stay. As I was about to jump in the car to the airport with my husband the Manager called me to confirm I was coming. To which I was like um yeah! He then rang back again to tell me he didn’t see how I could be coming as the Airport was under water and evacuated due to severe flooding and severe weather warnings. Nenad insisted on knowing if he could make our room available as he said he had a foyer full of people desperate for accommodation. After on selling our room, he said he could give us a credit voucher. I asked if I could please have a refund to which he said he would get back to me. He never did. I emailed again in March and after numerous calls, texts and emails from both myself and my husband he said he understood that our circumstances had changed and would provide a refund. Now he is saying we will never get a refund we can only have a credit voucher. DO NOT BOOK THIS ACCOMMODATION. Natural disasters, and changes in circumstances will not be taken into consideration. Once they take your money they will not give it back. They have no scruples and no fellow feeling. They do not care, just pure greed and dishonesty. I have begun proceedings with Consumer Affairs.

I was stranded in Byron Bay area because the pacific highway was flooded (2022), having driven three days from Melbourne, the last day in treacherous conditions. I was cold, wet and fatigued. Many other travellers were also stranded and I was faced with no vacancy after no vacancy; I was desperate. The care that staff/management at Azur Villas took with me when I was feeling so vulnerable was so appreciated. They let me have the room early (within the hour) asked if I had had something to eat and then said “you wait here, I’m going to fix you something” and brought me a delicious spread of cheeses and biscuits. I can’t thank them enough. It made a stressful time significantly easier for me. It also came on the heels of a very rude hotelier in a different town who decided to price gouge and who was dismissive to my being so worn out saying “everyone has had a bad day”. (While that is true (and I spent time with people whose homes who had been flooded at the evacuation centre), it’s horrible to hear someone say that to you when you are clearly exhausted and desperate.) If you want to feel pampered in a luxurious room with superb service from staff who actually do care - if you like the sound of all this - and a beautifully tendered room - then this is the place for you.
