My husband and I are high risk but needed to make this trip. I did a great deal of research on which hotels claimed they were following all the guidelines that had been put into place due to covid-19. I was especially impressed with this chain of hotels because when doing the research I found they followed something called the ”IHG CLEAN PROMISE ” I had never heard of that but was very impressed by what I found when I went to their website . I called the hotel a week prior to leaving for Butler and explained our situation to the woman at the check in counter who answered my call. I told her about both my husband and I being ”High Risk” The young woman who was very polite and seemed to understand my concern assured me that the staff and ALL guests must wear masks and that the rooms were given special attention to cleaning. I mentioned that when we arrived I would be happy to leave a very nice tip for the individual who cleaned our room and if they could just spend a little extra time making sure it was done well. I followed up with a second phone call 2 days before we left home and spoke to the same young woman at the front desk to see if the person who was in charge of cleaning our room had been asked either by the front desk or housekeeping to take a little extra care when cleaning the room we would be assigned to. She assured me it had been taken care of. After checking in and entering our room, just for extra safety, I immediately started wiping down door handles and the T.V remote. I then went into the bathroom to wipe down the vanity around the sink. The very front of the of the vanity was fine BUT as soon as I wiped down right behind where the faucet was , it was filthy!!! So I wiped down a few other areas and found the same thing. I was levid!! When I was finished wiping stuff down I took the disinfectant wipes I had used that were filthy from just the bathroom, put them in a plastic bag and brought the bag downstairs to show the manager at the front desk. I knew the manager was a man, so I realized the woman at the front desk had no control over the cleanliness of my room. The woman at the front desk said the manager would not be back until 7 the next morning. She saw how filthy the wipes were and apologized at great length and said she would call the manager and let him know. The next morning when I saw the manager he had a very cavalier attitude and simply said he was aware of it, would I like a different room and that he had notified IHG. I mentioned to him that I had called the hotel several times prior to our arrival and explained to him that the young woman I spoke with both times assured me our room would be cleaned well and given a little extra attention. The manager just stated the rooms are deep cleaned 6 times a year and they don't have the time to spend extra time on a particular room. Lovely, clean, cool, hip, nice amenities hotel that to me was a “no brainer” place to stay in Butler! Staff was awesome! Free breakfast was adequate nothing great but healthy choices & muffins were good! If I were ever to come back to this area this is where I would stay no doubt! Not much shopping around, nice library & art exhibit on the Main Street was nice.

Stayed for the second time and loved home2. I have lived in Cranberry Town before. There are facilities for family suites, bringing back meals from Chinese restaurants in town, refrigerators, microwave ovens, and utensils, very convenient. Also close to Jiahui Supermarket. Breakfast is standard American and it's better than clean.

While this isn't technically a 5 star hotel, the service we received for the price we paid makes this an excellent property. The check in was seamless as was check out. The free breakfast was ample and filling and the room was clean. We had our dog with us and the staff were friendly and welcoming of him. The area surrounding the hotel is good for walking the dog, too. While this was not a full service hotel, we would definitely stay here in the future as we have family in the area and this is convenient, clean, and reasonably priced.

We booked our room here at the Holiday Inn Express in Kittanning for a friend’s wedding for April. Due to Covid-19 the wedding was moved to July 11, 2020. I have been in contact with this hotel five times in the last two weeks, and not once was a check in time mentioned. Earlier this week the hotel called to see if we were still coming with the pandemic going on. After saying yes, we asked if we could check in around one to get ready there and the shuttle for the wedding left at 3:10. They said yes. We got here today a little before one and were told we could not check in until three. Even though we had blocked rooms off and the shuttle left at 3:10. The front desk attendant was extremely rude in how he handled this. We would have been alright just leaving to go somewhere else or waiting a little, but his attitude was unprofessional and frustrating, hence why I’m writing the review. We called another hotel nearby and asked if they had a room available now and they said yes and we could check in now. We returned to the front desk and asked if we could cancel our reservation, they said no because they were completely booked and would charge us. We then checked and saw that they were not sold out and did in fact have rooms still available. So we told them we would be going to the other hotel and canceling our reservation. And immediately after that, we magically had a room available for us to go to now. After giving us our room key, we were told this was our mistake because we did not book a room Friday and Saturday night. We only needed the room for one night, and were told a check in around one would be fine. So we have been lied to repeatedly and treated not very hospitable by the front desk attendant. Also no one is wearing masks here or practicing social distancing. Even though IHG’s main website says they’re taking the pandemic seriously. I would not have written this review if we were treated with some decency and a little respect. But the behavior of the front desk attendant was the worst experience I have ever dealt with at a hotel.
