Beautiful hotel, lovely room and stunning bathroom. Room had adequate storage, ironing board and iron, hairdryer, tea/coffee facilities. Breakfast was lovely, good quality food and plentiful. I would absolutely stay here again should I be in the area.

From the moment we decided to celebrate our Golden Wedding anniversary at Burythorpe House Hotel, we have been delighted with the friendly professional attention we have received. Organising the event, where we booked out all the hotel rooms and arranged a special dinner, was made so easy with Alison, the General Manager's assistance. The function itself was spectacular, amazing, friendly staff and wonderful food, nicely presented. The bedrooms were warm and welcoming, and almost every guest commented on how comfortable the beds were. Altogether, our Golden Wedding anniversary will be remembered by all our guests and ourselves as an outstanding and delightful success. Thank you to all the team at Burythorpe House.

The hotel is set in a lovely area with easy access to the beautiful countryside. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and the food (breakfast and evening meals) are excellent. Alison manages her very efficient and helpful staff very well. Overall it was fantastic value for money. It was a pleasure to stay there and I can thoroughly recommend this hotel.

this was a last minute reservation, thus I think we got a slightly cheaper price than normal. It was fancy. A quite large Georgian house. We felt like frauds staying at a place that was clearly usually for more wealthy people. However, it was hot and we were on the top floor—no AC. We left the window open all night and had the fan going to keep the air moving. Very peaceful location in the countryside. Breakfast at Burythorpe House was included and quite fancy. My wife had the smoked Whitby kippers and poached egg for breakfast, while I had the traditional full English (with a huge portobello mushroom instead of the smaller traditional ones). It was great.

We had an excellent stay at Burythorpe House. It is situated in the heart of the countryside but only 20 minutes from York or Malton and less than an hour from the coast. The staff are very good indeed ,friendly and helpful at all times. Our room was very comfortable and the food was of a good standard. It was lovely and quiet during our stay but is possibly busier during weekend wedding parties.

We had our mums 80th birthday meal here on Sunday. 24 of us in the main dining room. Alison, who is in charge is so obliging and helpful and friendly, as are her staff. The food was fabulous. It was tasty and hot and would we definitely recommend. Thank you to everyone for making it a lovely afternoon for us all.

A wonderful country house hotel in the heart of Yorkshire, where we were fortunate to hold our intimate wedding. Alison and the whole team were fabulous, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The setting was perfect, allowing us exclusive use for the wedding, incredible food and the relaxed atmosphere we were looking for.

Burythorpe House recently hosted our intimate wedding and what a venue it is, the setting is lovely and the house is cosy and welcoming. Alison and her whole team were amazing, nothing was too much trouble. The food during our stay was exceptional and Hayden really saved the day with an emergency replacement wedding cake. We would 100% recommend Burythorpe, although we’d also quite like to keep it for ourselves.
