Although I had clearly indicated I needed, for medical reasons, a room without carpets, rugs etc., such a room was not available... Later I could move to such one, but much smaller. There was confusion about prices, although I had the same breakfast every day, five different prices showed up, some items on some days not available.

We had a lovely two night stay in room 6. It had a super big bath in the bedroom and the room had an en-suite shower room with matching hand basins. Huge mirrors were part of the design as well as a modern four poster bed which was super comfortable. A comfy two seater sofa, practical desk and chair and useful coffee table added to the well appointed furniture. It all added to making for a relaxing and enjoyable 60th birthday treat. We had breakfast each morning which was fine and we ate in the pub on Friday night when it was super busy. The staff were very helpful , cheery and polite. The Fox Inn is in a great position, opposite the entrance to the Abbey Gardens which are beautiful. All shops, amenities and attractions are within short walking distance. Well worth the stay.

We went from 28 th November to 30th November for 3 nights, this was our first visit and we loved it, the drinks were a reasonable price and we got 20% off our food bill each night which made it exceptional value for money, the food was lovely and we left full every night, staff were lovely and friendly, atmosphere was very nice. We had room 4 which was very nice, clean and quiet, we had a lovely sleep every night and awoke to go to an exceptional breakfast choice, it was fresh and filling, one of best breakfasts we have had anywhere. We will be back.

Welcomed by friendly staff who shew us straight to our table. Drinks were great and food served in good time. Food was very good. Pub easy to find with good car parking facilities. Seating in the pub perfectly adequate for couples or large parties. Better to book.Would highly recommend to others.

Four of my family recently had Dinner at the Fox in Bury St Edmunds. We were meeting my Niece from Australia whom I had only recently found and had not seen since she was a baby. As she was staying with her partner at the hotel we all decided we would eat there as I was given to understand that the food was good. Well to say disappointing was an understatement. We all had something different and all meals were really not good. Apparently this was the new menu. There was only one other table with people eating. As it was such a special occasion and We were paying for our special guests from Australia we did not like to complain. We had several drinks but as I was driving I asked for lemonade and was told sorry we do not have any lemonade. Never heard of a pub with no lemonade before. So all in all a very big let down for what should have been such a nice evening which we tried not to let it spoil, but with hindsight it really did.

We stayed at the Fox Inn having been relocated from their sister hotel, the Dog & Patridge, due to a refurbishment taking place. The Fox do not normally allow children, but they made sure they could accommodate us and our 15 year old son at no extra charge. It was very much appreciated and we were not disappointed - the room was gorgeous; delightful in every way, exceptionally clean, and had everything you needed for a comfortable stay. The staff at the Fox were extremely polite and helpful, and the breakfast was delicious too. This really is a charming place to stay. The pub itself is steeped in history and a short walk from the Abbey ruins and Bury St Edmunds Town. Thank you to the Fox for making us so welcome. We will definitely come back soon.

One night stay, with breakfast. First visit. Stayed room 3. First impressions, were one of WOW! What a really lovely room with en-suite. Very pleased. Unfortunately air con wasn’t working, but we had two fans going. It was very hot I have to say and the bathroom hotter still. Although it could have been a deal breaker, it wasn’t because we received a warm welcome, the room was beautiful and clean and the bed was so comfortable, yes, ideally proper air con, but we dealt with it and obviously they had thought to put fans in. Breakfast in the morning, again lovely greeting, food was excellent, pub was great and nice vibe to it. Would definitely stay here again. Nice short walk into town and only across the way from Abbey gardens. A really nice stay overall
