This fabulous eatery with rooms in the ancient village of Repton is very special. We have stayed here and eaten breakfasts, brunches, lunches and dinners many times. It is exceptional. The picture of The Boot on Trip Advisor does not do it justice. 1. The service is always excellent. The staff remember you and seem genuinely pleased to see you again - nothing is too much trouble. 2. The recently renovated rooms are quite beautiful and luxurious. 3. The food, no matter what time of day, is exceptionally well prepared and presented. 4. Finally, the wine list. The Boot serve fabulous wines by the glass. No need to buy a bottle to cover all courses, tastes and then match the food - which never works. They use a wine preserving system, so the wine does not go off. Fabulous! It is also an opportunity to try wines that by the bottle may be expensive. In case you didn’t realise, we love The Boot. 4.

We cannot fault the hotel or staff. They showed amazing care and compassion to us under sad circumstances for us. Every single member of staff was amazing, food excellent and the rooms were so cosy and homely. Thankyou for caring. We will come back. Ann and Andy

Absolutely superb, thank you to the staff, faultless service for last minute change of stay. Thank you! Food, beer & wine was amazing in the afternoon/ evening. Stay here, please! The room was fab, clean and well appointed. Considering we booked another place nearby that wasn’t quite what we expected this was a big hit.

Breakfast at The Boot - Wow - would highly recommend, lovely coffee, tasty sausage and mushrooms, staff are very helpful and polite - my friend had a lovely time as this is not a local place to her 😊 - the eggs went down a treat and we have now booked in for Mother’s Day ♥️

Positives: bed was comfortable and staff were friendly. Negatives: we paid £130 per night (last weekend in October) and that did not include breakfast. Really it is a pub with rooms and not a “hotel”. There is no reception. So you check in at the pub bar. Parking is very limited. There are 7 parking spaces and 1 for disabled, although another 2 cars could park near the log store. There are about 9 rooms. So allowing for staff and bar customers parking, space is limited. The shower had mould. The sink was a tiny cloakroom sink and not really big enough for a man to shave. The paintwork on the bedroom window frame was black with dirt and mould. As the heating is regulated by a timer, it cannot be controlled in the room. Consequently the bedroom was freezing most of the time. However there was an electric heater in the wardrobe.

Just had a night stay, evening meal and breakfast at The Boot. The room was immaculate and comfortable bed, decorated beautifully and toiletries are lovely too. Dinner was scrumptious, I’m quite a fussy eater and the menu was different, the chef clearly has some great ideas. There are also great burgers etc for the less adventurous! All the staff are really lovely and friendly. We also had breakfast again this was really tasty. Would definitely recommend and look forward to returning, thank you!

My wife and I had booked a deluxe room as a post Christmas treat. We were shown to room 5, a delightfully spacious room which appeared to have been newly decorated. Unfortunately the room seemed very cold on entry and the gentleman who showed us to the room assured us the heating would kick in shortly. It did come on but not sufficiently enough for the size of room, especially as it was -2 outside. We had a lovely meal in the restaurant downstairs but upon entering our room afterwards discovered the heating had gone off. There was a small plug in heater provided which we made use of but this did little to heat the room. After getting into bed we then discovered the TV had so much interference, it was unwatchable. It seems a shame that these issues tainted what could have been a lovely stay.
