A beautiful setting for a simple, cozy, friendly lodge! Rooms are cheerfully decorated with local art and feature decks overlooking the property and pool on one side and the crater lake on the other. A few steps down from the lodge is a terrace overlooking the crater lake, the perfect place to have a bountiful English breakfast before starting out on the day's adventures. The parlor/bar inside is a casual setting for pizza and conversation upon your return. Mark, the lodge manager, was a professional and knowledgeable host, whether finding guides for each day's activities or a good spot for lunch, and his colleague, Rudyard, was an excellent and courteous driver. Bella Vista is a great base location for those planning to visit Queen Elizabeth National Park, the Kazinga Channel and Kibale National Park, etc.

It's a beautiful place with lake views and tranquility. Hot water. Ambient. Clean. Friendly service esp the receptionist called jammy and another called mugenyi. Place is goof for that quiet time after game drives and intense touring. I recommend it . You check out late. You are given time to fully sleep 😴 😆 Breakfast was okayish not the best limited options but hey its the least of my worries . Will surely go back

We had a lovely time there, the view is great, place is peaceful and calm. Perfect for vacation and get always. I totally fell in love with the place. The mornings are my favorites waking up with a lake view. The meals are wonderful. My favorite was the barbecue. And Mark was of great help

We spent a weekend at Bella Vista. Fantastic place. Beautiful scenery and views. The customer service is excellent and the proprietor is very hospitable! The swimming pool is icing on the cake. Thank you.

I have been to Africa many times and am quite willing to make compromises in terms of service quality, but what happens here at the Bella Vista Lodge is amazing! Guests are just a disruptive element that keeps the staff from playing around with their cell phones all shift long. The kitchen doesn't seem to be able to prepare 10 meals unless you order half a day in advance. You have to tell the staff that you have to put beer in the fridge beforehand, otherwise it will be served at 35°C, assuming there is any at all and someone is willing to bring it to you. In general, there is a large crowd of service staff walking around here, but they all seem totally disinterested and creep around like zombies. That's why we called it the "hotel of the undead". The only thing that is great is the view of the lake, which saves a second star. The rest of the hotel is completely forgettable.

Fantastic view of the crater lake with a frog concert at night. Unfortunately, the staff is not at all interested in providing good service. There were ants, millipedes and lizards in the room. We stayed there for two nights, the beds were not made on the second day. In one room the hot water tap was broken and nothing was done about it despite asking. Mattresses saggy, pool full of flies. Good pizzas, very big. Staff don't understand English well. When asked which part of the pork comes from the grill: pork. Which vegetables are in the soup: vegetables. Staff eat themselves in front of the TV during service and have to be disturbed every time. No WiFi. We wouldn't stay there for more than one night.
