Hilton Houston Westchase

Westchase Houston|2.89km from Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church
I recently was a guest from Friday September 30-Monday October 3, 2022 at your Hilton Westchase Property in Houston, Texas. After reading other reviews of this property, and having it be recommended by the bride and groom for the wedding we were attending, I booked without hesitation, since I am a Hilton Honors member, and know the normal quality of the Hilton brand. Our first impression of the room that it was extremely dated, and had a lot of damage around the baseboards, and bathroom area. Additionally the front door of room 317 appeared to have been kicked at the bottom. Despite these flaws, we decided to continue our stay. Unfortunately, we were unable to fully relax because of the extremely thin walls, and neighbors from several directions playing loud music, and engaging in loud conversation and door slamming. These extra disruptions continued into the 11:00pm hour, at which point I attempted to use the room phone to call the front desk so they could address the noise, which did not work. I could hear the front desk agent, but she could not hear me. I ended up using my cell phone and calling the hotel and explaining that it was me in room 317 and the phone did not work. The next day the music stopped earlier, however, we were able to hear conversation and snoring, which a guest in another room should not be able to hear. The final moment which was the pinnacle of the horrendous events was when my friend saw several roaches on the bathroom floor on Sunday morning. She killed one without examining, but when she saw several, she identified them as roaches. We immediately went to the front desk and said we needed a new room, which we received along with 50% off of our last night’s rate, however, the desk agent was not shocked when we let her know about roaches in the rooms. The new room we moved to on the 8th floor, had a running water pipe noise constantly happening, which also contributed to an unrestful stay. Finally on check out, the front desk agent (different than the one who handled the original roach debacle) asked us how our stay was, when I let him know it was horrible, and told him about the pipes and roaches, his response was asking if they were big or little, because the big ones they are just around. This is unacceptable! There should be NO pests present in a hotel room, and the nonchalant attitude of the staff, has made me never want to patronize a Hilton property again. I am beyond appalled and disgusted at the run down and revolting condition of this property. I paid the full amount of my bill, primarily because I had a flight to catch, and no time to engage management regarding this situation.

Houston Marriott Westchase

We stayed one night at the Marriott Houston Westchase in a 1 Bedroom Suite, 1 King, Sofa bed, City view. My husband had surgery that day and we spent the day and night camped out in the room. He slept for most of it. I spent it watching tv. For the most part our stay was good but not what I expected from Marriott. Everything was clean and neat. However, I think there are some things that could use attention. (I worked hospitality many years ago, so I apologize if this seems long and nit-picky.) Let's start with the parking. Valet signs everywhere. We waited. no one came out. My husband took his bandaged face into the lobby only to find out there is none. Half the parking lot up front was closed to public parking. He was told to park where the front desk could see it so it would not get tampered with. As I made my way around to park there were some shady characters sitting in a car at the back of the lot near a service entrance. I parked as close as I could to the front. We arrived mid-afternoon (2pm) and did not realize that there was no food service of any kind until dinner. (From 1-4pm!) Not even a snack machine available. There was no menu in the room for room service. Nor was there any number on the phone to dial for room service. So, I went for a food pick up and on my way back, asked the desk for a menu. They pointed out the QR scan code to order. Sorry - but some of us older folks are cell phone challenged. Just give us the room service number on the phone in the room and a menu in there! (Like it used to be.) Plenty of good restaurants near by. Shady characters still in the parking lot. No sign of security patrol. The little corridor off the main one to our room was very dark. A brighter bulb would be better. (Had I been there alone, it would have creeped me out.) The TV in the living space was at an awkward angle from the couch. It made it uncomfortable unless you were sitting sideways. There was only one water bottle in the room and one robe - for 2 people. We called down and quickly received one more of each. The ice bucket top was warped so the ice melted rather quickly. The coffee bar only had 2 sugar packets, plenty of fake sugars and three cream in it. Not really enough for 2 cups of coffee. (Those coffee packets made really weak coffee.) Was also surprised that a Marriott was using plastic glasses instead of real ones. The bed was lumpy. It needs a mattress replacement. Bedding was not anything special. Was also not a fan of the feather pillows - they are flat. Would have preferred 2 regular pillows and 2 feathered. I spent most of the night in the bedroom chair and it was not comfortable. Later that night, I got really hungry and ordered room service. I felt awkward that there was nothing to sign - so I could tip this really nice Asian lady who brought it up. (There was no where on the final bill that I could put a tip for her either. And I didn't have a dime of cash! She must have thought I was a cheapskat
