Great hotel for views and I recon would be even better during the summer. You get the view of the Nawal Sagar lake and the city palace. Unfortunately bathroom faucet at sink was slightly loose so had to be careful. But overall comfortable stay and had a balcony directly facing the fort. We only had breakfast here and I could have asked for more Indian style breakfast but had a lot of the buffet. Pasta is lovely. Masala chai also lovely - not sweet which is what I like. Customer service - Ravi is very accommodating.

A Disappointing Experience at Nawal Sagar Palace I recently stayed at Nawal Sagar Palace in Bundi and was thoroughly disappointed by the unprofessional and rude behavior of the manager, which overshadowed the charm of the property. Here are the key issues we faced during our stay: 1. Rude and Arrogant Manager • When we inquired about the check-out time, we were informed it was 10 AM, which is earlier than many other places. When we mentioned that late check-outs are common in cities like Jaipur, the manager arrogantly responded by saying, “In Jaisalmer, guests are kicked out as early as 6 AM.” Such remarks were uncalled for and unprofessional. 2. Unfulfilled Promises for Bonfire Arrangements • Before our arrival, we were assured that all arrangements for a bonfire would be made. However, upon reaching the property, no preparations had been done. When we approached the manager, we were told to arrange the seats and wood ourselves. To make matters worse, we were instructed to clean up after the bonfire before returning to our room. This was highly disappointing and completely against the concept of hospitality. 3. Overcharging and Poor Service • No mineral water bottles were placed in the room, which is a basic expectation. Instead, the bottles were charged separately. When we pointed out that some bottles remained unused, the manager flatly refused to take them back, stating they had already been billed. Instead of resolving the issue amicably, he handed us a challan for the payment, further adding to the inconvenience. The unprofessional attitude of the staff, particularly the manager, ***** with the poor service and unmet promises, made our stay unpleasant. While the property itself might have some charm, the management’s behavior and lack of customer service ruined the experience. I wouldn’t recommend this property to anyone looking for a hassle-free and enjoyable stay in Bundi.

The hotel is probably one of the best in town, with a bit of sprucing up it could be really nice. It’s set in a lovely old property alongside the lake with great views back to the palace and fort. Our room was reached by a complicated route across balconies and up stairways. It was a good size with stained glass windows opening to views of the lake. The bed was large and comfy with a good duvet. The bathroom was large and modern for India, it even had a separate shower section so the floor didn’t flood. Breakfast was included but was uninspiring- served in the drab restaurant with packet coffee, stale bread with a 1990s toaster, bananas, boiled eggs and rice. We were offered omelette but didn’t have them. The restaurant seems a bit neglected- we ordered a bottle of beer and it was served warm. We didn’t fancy eating a meal there. I believe there was once a rooftop restaurant but this is long gone. I believe it opened as a hotel around 2000, and it must have been quite opulent then but feels like it hasn’t had any refurbishment since then. If a little money was spent on it, they could market themselves to a higher market and probably get at least treble the current nightly rate. The staff are helpful and the manager speaks good English. Another quirk is that they bolt the outside gates shut and lock internal doors around 10pm (anti monkey measure!). If coming back after this time, let them know or you will be locked out! We slept well though there was some noise from a temple across the lake and as it was wedding season, one night there was a procession with drumming, horses and fireworks right outside until 1am. Bundi is a nice little town, a few good little restaurants, though the palace and fort are over priced at 600r. I’d say this is one of the best places to stay in town- good position, nice room and a bit quirky!

We have come back again to meet Ravi the owner of this simple but very comfortable hotel we fell in love with hotel and bundi last time we were here the garden beside the lake is pleasant place to eat and the staff are always helpful. Bundi is a small town that has kept its old world flavour here you won’t find mc Donald’s but small intimate streets leading down from the palace that looms high on th hill behind the hotel. Kiplings India still breathes in those small streets and alleys
