Stopped for a roast dinner, I sat outside as I had my dog with me. Food was great, service at the bar was nothing spectacular, the food was brought to me by a boy in a tracksuit relatively quickly in two visits, I was confused until the meat arrived as i am not a vegetarian and presented well. The outside area is littered with cigarette butts and stinks of wet ashtrays. Otherwise the other reviews I’ve read sum the pub up quite honestly

Really good food but the week night we picked was very rowdy with lots of men talking and swearing so loudly that we couldn't hear what our friends were saying. I'm not sure why the landlord didn't ask them to tone it down a bit. As I said the food was exceptionally good but unfortunately we wouldn't go there again as there was no ambience whatsoever.

Would not advise families to stay here! We arrived to a busy pub on Saturday, full of drinkers, not a very family friendly atmosphere. No lift had to carry bags and babies up to the rooms. Our room had just a double bed, which was meant to cater to me my partner and our two babies, we had no offer of a crib. We asked if there was a family room, as this is what we requested but this had been given to someone else. We wish we had been warned about the live music prior to arrival!!! Blasting until 12pm which was so loud that our room was shaking, there was no way to sleep through it. I don't get what part of the pub is suitable for families.

We arrived around 6:30pm and the bar was busy and lively. The car oark was full but qe managed to get a spot a bit later having parked initially on the road. Friendly barman showed us up to our room. Room was a very good size, double bed and a single. Large en suite with a waterfall shower and bath. Very clean and looked like it had been recently refurbished. Went down for food and the bar was still busy with locals but no issues at all. Food was excellent and a real surprise! There is clearly a very talented chef working here. That was confirmed at breakfast, which was exceptional. All the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. A great place to stay and eat at Thoroughly recommend 👌

I would give it a 5 for quality of food,4 for the room and 1 for the service/ staff. On the Friday evening 20 of us had a meal and it was top notch as was the brekky on both days. Unfortunately the staff don’t know how to engage with guests. They either stare blankly and make little or no effort in making you feel welcome. Such a shame as it marred the weekend. If they improved in these areas it would be really good all round.

Our second stay here as we also came over Christmas which was brilliant. After a long drive the management and staff were absolutely fantastic in making us feel welcome and relaxed. The rooms are tastefully decorated and super clean with plenty of tea, coffee and hot chocolate supplies which was great! The locals are very friendly too with a great sense of humour so we really did feel we was home from home! We had the full English in the morning which was as good as any we have ever had, this place really is a goldmine for anyone visiting the area and the fact it is dog friendly was just the cherry on the cake! We really can't recommend this place any higher other than we would struggle to book again once the secret is out!

Arrived very late on the Friday to a very busy pub. The lady that showed us to our room was lovely and showed us where everything was. The room was satisfactory and we were impressed with the daily tidy up. We were given 2 bottles of mineral water a day due to unsafe drinking water in our room. The breakfasts were amazing and extremely hearty which kept us going until teatime. We ate one evening meal there was was lovely too and the cheese and pickle sandwiches were legendary!!!! The location was perfect for us to venture around the coastline of Cornwall. All in all we had a great time at the Bugle Inn and it was extremely good value for money however the pub was very busy most evenings with locals and it didn't close until 11.45 so this made our evenings in the room quite noisy and eventually invested in ear plugs. This would have been no issue if we had been drinking downstairs as well but as we weren't, we were glad of the peace once everyone had gone. However, overall a good stay, lovely food and great value for money.
