Karungi Camp is your home away from home! The team is so friendly and the quality of the service is 5 stars. The rooms are spacious, the beds are comfortable and the shower is the best one in Uganda. I was planning on going for one night and stayed for three. I was the only guest on site but I never felt alone as the team is so friendly. The camp is close to town so it's easy to go explore, to grab a bite or a drink. There is also a place to play pool, ask Gordon we had a great time there and he is a great coach. I was initially there for the gorillas but there is much more to do, I recommend to visit the community, visit the cave and walk in town to taste de local food. Yoly and Gordon helped me from the start with the gorillas permit, transportation from the boarder of Rwanda, organizing activities in the area and even Benjamin (Gordon's brother) brought me to Kabale and waited with me for my bus to Kampala. Don't miss out on this gem, it is really the best place to stay. Little secret not so secret anymore : they have the best chef in town!

Absolutely wonderful place - although it’s listed as 3 star accommodation, the service is 5 star. Gordy and Yoly arranged everything from our Gorilla permits to our transfers from Kigali. When we arrived at Karungi we were welcomed with a warm refreshment towel and fresh passion fruit juice. Our rooms had everything we needed - comfortable beds with a mosquito net, the best hot showers in Uganda and a little veranda for chilling out. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were delicious - portions are big, so you won’t go hungry. There are camp fires every night to sit around and enjoy a chat with a cold beer. Best of all is the service with a smile. Karungi Camp is family / community run and the staff go above and beyond to make your stay special. Nothing is too much trouble. They are incredibly kind, honest and helpful. We loved our time here and would recommend staying here when visiting Bwindi National Park.

Excellent location for doing a gorilla trek. Staff was very friendly and the food was excellent. Only complaint was that the bed frame was kind of bowed like a bowl and made sleeping a little uncomfortable, but not so much that I wouldn't recommend staying here.

It’s the perfect place to stay when you are up for a gorilla trekking in Bwindi . Amazing food and people ! Couldn’t recommend more. Very cosy to have dinner close to the fire place. You get the opportunity to buy hand made souvenirs from locals

What a lovely place to stay! We loved the ambiance of the place, the friendliness of the staff, and the trips and ideas they offer to make your stay great. The driver Gordon was great, he picked us up from the border coming from Rwanda. Everything around gorilla trekking was organised very well. We also did a hike with a guide the next day, which was a lovely way to experience the area. All in all, very happy with the value of this place.

Firstly I would love to thank Gordon our point of contact for his impeccable consideration to our comfort and satisfaction. Gordon is kind, helpful, hard working and considerate. Without him we’d have had a very different experience in Bwindi. Now to the camp itself - Virtually a little pocket of forest paradise. Comfortable, affordable and in a stunning location. The staff are welcoming, warm and attentive. A huge bonus here is the food from Chef Daniel. My friend and I are both experienced chefs and the food cooked at this camp far exceeded the standards at other camps that we have experienced throughout Africa, whilst on tours of similar nature. So we give a fitting 5 stars for this establishment and once again thank you to all for being a part of an unforgettable journey for Jesse and I.

This lovely getaway near Rushaga gate for Bwindi NP has it all. It starts with a warm welcome by yason/gordon or the two kind ladies, followed with every day advice and tips and lovely self home made local foods by chef Daniel. After that chill out with wine at the campfire on cold evenings, while you’ve been Gorilla trekking. The houses have all you need. Thanks for feeling like a king and queen lovely staff!! We will miss you!

It was one of the best decisions to select #KarungiCamp for our #Ugandan wildlife holiday. Yolande and Gordon have been very communicative and responsive in helping us plan and execute our dream wildlife experience. A few highlights - - The whole karungi team is very helpful and polite , we had a warm welcome with freshly squeezed juice and comfortable stay at the site. - Accommodation is basic but clean, hygienic and safe, very pretty and rustic, with bestest hot shower, amazingly fresh local food and fully stocked bar. They have rustic wooden log sofas in the outdoors on which you can lounge around. The best part is the premises - green and peaceful, they also light a heartwarming fire in the fireplace, when it gets cold - Gordon, the manager went out of his way to make us feel at home, he personally accompanied us through our trip, acting as driver and recommending and arranging local experiences, from the Gorilla trekking to safaris in QENP, to accompanying us for the chimp experience ! He has great contacts and team and is your go-to person to experience Uganda up,close and personal. Most importantly, the team went above and beyond their actual jobs (it is a resort and not a tour agency), by helping us plan and execute our itinerary. We kept asking them loads of questions, and they patiently guided us with their local expertise right from itinerary planning to local suggestions. This was important since not much information was available online. It would be a mistake not to book them and experience the warm and expert hospitality @ Karungi Camp ! Must-book if you are planning to visit Uganda !
