What You Can Expect (aka LIES): - Be cheated and forced to pay 21% in addition to your quoted room rate. They argue that all foreigners are required to pay the 21% VAT, when the reservation clearly states that foreigners are exempt from this. See other reviews that warned you the same. Wilfred will tell you to get refund from airport Customs (Aduana). Don't be fooled. Hotels don't quality for VAT reimbursement. - Photos are all lies. Pictures of hotel front view, rooms, interior, are all photo shopped or owner Wilfred got them from somewhere else. It's a very old/dilapidated motel-style with attempted renovation on some parts. Only real photo that we can confirm after staying there is the one with the bed and breakfast room (renovated). - The rooms are so old (think 1920) that furniture is falling apart. “Kitchen” has no pots, pans, appliance. Rooms so LOUD from outside traffic noise. - Location is right on two very busy streets where buses zoom by all day/most of night. Even with sliding patio door closed AND heavy duty ear plugs, it wakes you up as if you're sleeping on the street. - Seriously, would you stay in this place for free? Let alone be forced to pay 21% more than you're quoted? Worse, where we booked the hotel that started with a B...com didn't help either. It clearly states in the B...com reservation confirmation that VAT does not apply to foreigners. Instead, B...com sided with hotel, which feels like we're stabbed twice. Don't book from this hotel nor B...com. Voice of Reason: - The only good thing about this motel is the location that is central to many things. But then again, public transport is so easy and inexpensive in Buenos Aires, you can stay anywhere and still access where you need to go to. - The breakfast lady is super nice. We forgot her name. Fresh squeezed OJ. Breakfast is simple. Toast, coffee, juice. - Wilfred (hotel owner? at front desk) is responsive and nice, but watch for the dishonest overcharging of 21% VAT. He'll ask you to pay in cash too (forced) because his wonky machine that charges credit doesn't work properly. If you pay in cash, there's no recourse. Your best hope is that you can fight it with your credit card company. No thanks to B...com to help us. They are just as bad as the hotel. Never answered our question of why B...com does not honor their own policy stated in reservation that foreigners are exempt. Can't talk to manager. Uploaded all the documents (only allowed one at a time). All to be shot down each time. Never again to either! Going to competitor of B…com where I experienced good customer service when there is a booking/billing issue. Bottom Line: RUN!!! You can find a better hotel anywhere even for this price. We were shocked upon looking at our room how different it is from posting. Not to mention that overcharging. ALL LIES! You've been warned.
