Hotels near Józsefvárosi Helytörténeti Alkotóműhely in Budapest

Currently here at the moment and tbh I’m disappointed! Not like the reviews say. It’s a good 45 min walk to the centre of Budepest. The breakfast is lack lustre at most! Luke warm hot drinks, only one side of the toaster works and very basic buffet. Rooms have no tv, or hairdryers! The amenities it says are here simply aren’t, rooftop bar closed, pasta shop never open, spar next door is very limited hours and the staff are rude. If your wanting somewhere to stay with things around it don’t stay here it feels like your in the middle of no where. Nothing much around it so do expect to be walking quite a way to get to anything. I comply understand it’s geared towards student but even these must be bored to tears with the lack of amenities around the hotel, not even anywhere to grab a bite to eat within a good 10 min walk. Would I stay here again? Absolutely not On a plus note the reception staff are lovely

Our daughter booked us this hotel as part of a 3 night trip to Budapest as a Christmas gift. After visiting Budapest herself, she thought we’d love it so booked us the trip. I don’t normally write reviews, but I thought the hotel had been served an injustice with lots of the other reviews we’d read. We’d read lots that said it was in an awful and unsafe area. The hotel is on a side street, in a city away from the centre, no different to any side street in a city we’d seen before. We saw one homeless person in a doorway, and sometimes people gathered chatting outside the Spar shop at the top of the road, and the other shops…not much of a problem. We didn’t feel unsafe or find the street to be noisy. You are a little bit out of the centre, but the bus stop and metro are conveniently located just around the corner. We used the bus which was very cheap, or free, as sometimes we were just waved on. Once inside our room we heard very little noise, from within the hotel itself, or from the road outside…only the occasional siren. The towels and sheet’s were good, and the room clean, pillows also nice quality and extras in the wardrobe. Room a comfortable temperature. The beds are low to the ground, and the mattresses firmer than we are used to, but after a 12 hour day sightseeing, and a few cocktails/beers we slept reasonably well. Little ******s with the room, a kettle with tea/coffee making facilities would have been nice for a morning cuppa before heading out. There is a small bar in the reception area where you could get coffee though, and plenty of cafes on the main street. The hairdryer overheated quite quickly and cut out. But only minor issues. The staff were not particularly chatty (us Brits love a chat!) however, helpful and courteous when needed. All in all a good stay and a good base to explore…what do you do from a hotel room? For us to sleep and shower 🤷🏻‍♀️ Budapest is an amazing city, so much to see and do, we absolutely loved exploring, enjoy!

We loved our 5 night stay here, we opted for a 1 bedroom apartment. We were amazed at how big, clean and well equipped the apartment was (there were even a couple of laundry pods to do washing if you wished). The staff at reception were really welcoming and happy to help giving great advice. Location is fantastic as close to all the main sights with the metro, tram and bus stops at the top of the road. Close to some brilliant restaurants like Mozel Tof, Ghetto Goulash and Pork and Prezli (make sure you book) Really handy that the direct airport bus stop is just a 5 minute walk too. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again if coming to Budapest.

Convenient location just across from train station, friendly and helpful staff, clean room, breakfast is good, and included, beds are a little hard for us but others preferred hard so it's just personal preference I guess. Overall very good value.

Very nice stay experience, surprisingly it has a well equipped gym for no reason to skip workout! Free parking! Clean room at detail, overall satisfied, definitely will come back again! Breakfast was acceptable but could be better

The hotel is very beautiful and modern and the staff very welcoming. not knowing the city, they do not hesitate to advise me on places to visit and explain to me how to get around with public transport. The room was very comfortable and modern corresponding to all my expectations. The only small negative point that I could cite is the restricted opening hours of the restaurant and the bar. Taking into account the neighborhood (8th arrondissement), I would have preferred to eat at the hotel than to have to go out or order. In summary, a great stay and can't wait to come back!

This was our first time in Budapest and this hotel was the perfect location, just a block from St. Stephens Basilica and walking distance to everything. It was sparkling clean, had friendly staff and was everything we needed at an affordable price. We paid the extra small fee for the breakfast which was an easy way to start the day.

The location is perfect (2 mins walk from Deak Ferenc terminal where the 100E airport bus terminates and central to all of the major sights. Staff at the hotel are amazing! Nothing is too much trouble and when we had what was a minor fuse box problem in our room, it was resolved within 5mins and with no complaint or prompting from us, a bottle of bubbly was nonetheless delivered to our room as an apology for the inconvenience. What a great touch. Standard rooms are very small, but if you upgrade to a Superior Room, they are modern, spacious & comfortable with a large bed, a spacious lounge area and a nice bathroom. Breakfast is very good too. One criticism I have is the lack of in-room tea/coffee making facilities, which seems strange given rooms do have a fridge. However, reception arranged for a kettle in our room, so problem solved! Another criticism is the position of the TV, which is fine if you're watching on the sofa, but difficult to see from the bed. One final criticism is no drawer space at all.b Bedside cabinets have no drawers and clothes storage is open plan. However, there is free security safe for valuables. Overall, we would thoroughly recommend The Roombach and we would definitely stay here again.

This hotel was the perfect location for a one night stay when I had to catch a ride the next morning from the train station. It was basic but had everything I needed. The only downfall was that I was absolutely exhausted- had been traveling from across the world and been awake for over 24 hours but I had trouble sleeping because I could hear EVERYTHING happening in the hallway and in my neighbors rooms. Paper thin walls. I was on the ground floor. But breakfast was very filling. (Photo showing how super close it is to the train station. This is a nice little hotel, set just outside Budapests center. We arrived early evening and were given a room on the first floor over looking the courtyard. The room was nice and quiet, but as soon as you open the window you can hear the noise from the road. The room was adequate, nice and clean. Beds comfortable, well stocked fridge with tea and coffee. Breakfast in the morning was sufficient for us with Toast, cereal, pastries, fruit,scrambled egg, tea /coffee, fruit juice etc. But if you're looking for a full English then you will be out of luck! Hotel is situated about 100 yards from a square and shopping centre. The square has several restaurants, Italian, Mexican, Chinese, Vietnamese, pizza, burger restaurants. So you can easily find something to eat. It's a good 35 min walk into the city centre, which if you're exploring all day makes for a long walk back. On our second day we discovered the tube station around the corner. Turn right out of the hotel, right again on to the main road and walk 2 mins to the cross roads where you will find the Corvin Negyed station. 3 stops along to Deak will bring you out close to St. STEPHENs Basillica and the Ferris wheel which are pretty central in Budapest. The tube fare was about £1.25 single per person. Tivket machines can be put into english. Far better than walking! Over all the hotel was comfortable for us and we would stay here again.
