The park plaza was a last minute choice for us as we had originally booked into an extremely horrifying Airbnb but we were so lucky to book their last room! It’s in such a prime location with a beautiful view of the parliament building and tram / metro stops within a 5 min walk.
The staff were really accommodating and informative and always smiling which is so lovely to see in the morning.
The only issue we experienced was the malfunctioning AC but they tried their best to resolve it and even offered a room change and complimentary drinks to show their care.
Overall, it was a great stay and I will definitely look to them next time k go to Budapest. Thank you!
Pros: Location is best if you plan to stay out the entire day. 5 mins walk from Budapest-Deli station, with easy access to Metro Red Line (direct to Parliament building) and tram to Gellert Hill (transfer to Central Market Hall etc). 10mins walk (plus a little hike) to reach Fisherman’s Bastion for early sunrise view.
Cons: Kettle not provided, available for rent @ EUR10
Carlton Hotel is truly excellent. Its location is superb, being very close to Buda Castle, just a 5-minute walk away, and only 200 meters from the western end of the Széchenyi Chain Bridge. While not a large hotel, it is exceptionally clean, and the service is outstanding.
Despite arriving early in the morning, well before the standard 3 PM check-in time, the reception staff were incredibly accommodating and allowed me to check in at 11 AM. The room was modern and impeccably clean.
Upon check-out, Ms. Reka not only gifted me with honey but also kindly arranged a taxi for me.
Carlton Hotel truly stands out as one of the best hotels here. I will definitely be returning on my next visit.

Very good, very suitable for people like me who don't like to run around and hope to have a good rest in the hotel! On the first day, I ordered the hotel's special 30 euro menu, which included an appetizer, a main course and a dessert, which was very delicious! The hotel's breakfast is also very rich. There is a buffet area and you can also order a free coffee and a freshly made egg/ham/muffin, etc. The quality and taste are both at the level of professional restaurants!
The location is also very convenient. It is very close to the Fisherman's Bastion. You can watch the sunrise if you walk forward and the sunset if you walk back. You can take bus No. 16 down the mountain to the city center.
In addition, the mini bar is also free and will be refilled every day. The shower gel and shampoo are also good. In short, it is a perfect experience
Overall, our stay at the Mercure Budapest Castle Hill Hotel was okay as there were some areas that could be improved. The hotel front area had a warm and inviting ambience, which was nice.
Upon arrival, we requested a top-floor room, but the staff recommended keeping our current room as it offered a better view. We appreciated their insight and decided to stay where we were. The hotel’s location was decent—about a 20–30 minute walk to the city area, making it manageable.
The bedroom itself was spacious and comfortable, providing plenty of room to relax. However, the bathroom and toilet were quite small, which made them feel a bit cramped. Additionally, while the room was clean, the bathroom was less so. We noticed hair left behind, and there was little to no body wash gel provided. The towels were dirty upon arrival, requiring us to request new ones on the first day.
One frustrating experience was with the housekeeping staff. On our second morning, we wanted to sleep in, but were interrupted twice—once at 10 AM and again at 11 AM—by a cleaner knocking to check when we would be leaving. When I confirmed that the checkout time was indeed 12 noon, I didn’t understand why they felt the need to rush us out. It felt unnecessary and a bit intrusive.
Despite these issues, our stay was generally fine. If the hotel could improve housekeeping efficiency, ensure cleaner bathrooms and amenities, and provide a bit more space in the bathroom area, it would be an even better experience.
The hotel locates at a very excellent location. Many main attraction points around it. The restaurant for breakfast buffet has a very good view.
ALL the staff of the front desk is very helpful and nice.
I arrive on the morning and they help to check the availability of the room. They allow the customer to have early check in early when the availability of the room is OK.
Everything of the hotel is good. I recommend other people to stay at this hotel when they come to Budapest.
I will stay again in Hilton Budapest when I visit there again.
The hotel is located on the Buda side of Budapest, walking distance from the main attractions. Very close to the chain bridge, walking across the bridge to Pace. You can see the night view of Budapest Palace opposite.
The room is large, there is a kettle, and air conditioning.
Breakfast is full.
The hotel is on the mountain, next to Fisherman's Bastion. When I checked into the hotel, I thought it would be inconvenient to get to the city. I didn't expect that not only would I be able to see the church as soon as I left the hotel every day, but I would also be able to walk more than 100 meters to the 16/16A bus, which runs until 12 o'clock every day, so I didn't have to worry about going up and down the mountain. If you want to be the first to seize the invincible sunrise at Fisherman's Bastion, then choosing this hotel is the right choice. It only takes 8 to 10 minutes to walk. It's also very convenient to go to the Budapest Castle. You don't have to go down the mountain. You can get to the castle in two or three bus stops because it is parallel to the Fisherman's Bastion. The room is not big and it is a bit stressful to open two luggages. The breakfast is average and there are few categories. But the food in the hotel's restaurant is very good. Reservation required. There is no socket on the dressing table. You need to stand in the bathtub to take a shower. The partition glass is very narrow. Every time I take a shower, the bathroom floor is filled with water. I don't like these two things.
Comfortable and clean apartments with kitchens. There is everything you need. Fast Wi-Fi, air conditioning.
There is an elevator in the hotel.
Our windows went out into the yard, it was quiet.
The bus stop right next to the hotel, in a pedestrian accessibility of the city center. In 5 minutes walk the big supermarket.
Breakfast is not too diverse, but quite delicious. Swedish table.
The location is superb, leaving us the best viewing position, huge floor-to-ceiling windows! We can stay in the hotel all day! It is very clean, the room is large, and the breakfast is delicious!

LLudmila and Winston from AustraliaOutstanding Gold Standard Hotel.
We stayed five nights in the hotel, and from the time we arrived, we enjoyed the most outstanding professional and welcoming hospitality of the hotel staff. To our suprise, most of the staff communicated well in English and were always welcoming, professional, and friendly. The superior studio provided a spectacular view of the Danube River and the majestic Chain Bridge. The view of the city was absolutely magnificent, especially at night time. Everything in the room was of high standard, and having stayed at many hotels around the world, we could say without hesitation that the soundproofing in the room was Gold Standard. For the first time, we were not disturbed by any external noise from the hotel or from traffic noise from outside the hoìtel. This made our stay enjoyable and memorable. We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone in the hotel for making our stay in Budapest spectacular!
CCoocolabThe room is beautiful! And there is an exclusive private area, but the main building is a 17th century monument, it is half a reserved area, so there is no elevator, the luggage is not friendly, and the air-conditioning is very weak, so if it is a friend who is afraid of heat or a friend who wants to come in summer, you can avoid it. But winter is very suitable, it is a romantic room! Breakfast is also paid, no extra payment! The experience is great except for being too hot!
NNazha2000The location is very good, just a 3-5 minute walk from the Fisherman's Bastion. The Buda Castle area is not as convenient as Pest. I suggest you stay in Pest and visit the castle area for a day. Download the Bolt taxi app, bind your credit card, and you can take a taxi as easily as Didi in China.
SShenzhenxiaolaowuThe hotel is in a very good location, right on the Danube River, with the Parliament building just across the river. The surrounding buildings are very tall and grand, and the famous Fisherman's Bastion is on the mountain behind. The hotel is quiet in a busy area, the rooms and facilities are very new, and although the breakfast variety is not particularly large, it has everything you need.
Hhopeo1Super good, just below the Fisherman's Bastion, close to the chain bridge, all kinds of convenient travel, free public playground at the door, very suitable for children to play, the room is super good, breakfast is simple but the horns are super invincible! It is the best horn I have ever eaten! I still remember it! The only fly in the ointment is that there is no elevator. If you live on the fourth floor, you will get a little tired every day.
