"Hotel is located 1-2 minutes from the market hall, and right next to the pedestrian zone, and maybe 1-2 minutes to the river abd bridge. So the location is very good. An airport shuttle bus station is about 10 minutes walking distance, very convenient.
The hotel was very nice and helpful. The room was clean and big enough for a single traveler. The breakfast buffet was decent and everything looked and tasted fresh and good.
In total, I really enjoyed my stay there and would come back anytime."

"I was left with mixed feelings
We had a deluxe room, but the ventilation was broken — it was humming in the bathroom non-stop, it was incredibly annoying
When we asked to solve the problem, the manager replied that he couldn't do anything and offered a room of a lower category, but this didn't suit us, so the problem remained unsolved
The room itself is spacious, the bed is large, the pillows are really cool (low), the mattress is comfortable/comfortable for sleeping, but the decor is tired — stains on the chairs, unwashed curtains, the walls are dirty
Little storage space
Probably not 4 stars, but weak 3
Buffet breakfast — normal
I can't recommend it, for this amount, I think you can find more interesting options
I definitely won't go back"

"This place was an amazing find! We got the standard apartment, and it was a loft with 2 double beds. There was also a mini kitchen and a dining table. Just what we needed, wish we spent more time here! Service staff were also amazing and so nice. Location was also good with easy transport and food options near us!"
"The hotel is not worthy of 4 stars at all. The standard room is already ruined: the door to the bathroom is sagging and may soon fall, the doorframes are broken from below, the walls are stained in places, the sofa is also not the first freshness. A standard room with one bed is 2 single beds placed side by side, covered with one sheet. Only the beds are on wheels and move apart, so there is a problem if you sleep together, only in your own half. No water, only in the minibar for money. Breakfast is buffet, but it’s the same every day, and if you stay for a long time it can get boring. So I give the hotel a maximum of 2-3 stars. There is no kettle in the room, it turns out you have to ask for it at the reception."
"The hotel is very good, although it is a cheap hotel, but the facilities are very good, the hygiene conditions are also OK, the breakfast is also very good, the price is very close to the people. Budapest is not expensive to take a taxi. In fact, you can walk to some attractions, all two or three kilometers. The hotel's breakfast, there is an egg white fried bread, very delicious 😋. The hotel has a large water pressure and the bath is very comfortable."
"The location is right in the center and very convenient. The house for us is 1 storey, very dark, cold, not very ventilated, the sun is shining outside, some people wear short sleeves, and we have to wear down jackets in our house. The air conditioner charges 10 euros a night, and the small air conditioner is only in the living room, and it is impossible to get to the inner room. The service is really speechless, the booked triple room, a double bed and a sofa bed, the double bed is normal, the list on the sofa bed is new, the quilt is the one that comes out of the cupboard, and at first glance it is not a clean quilt and The pillowcases were asked to replace them. They said they were new. Finally, they let them smell. The taste is the kind of taste that has not been changed for a long time. It is also new, and it is very speechless. In the end, I have to lose my temper. The tone of the two sides is already very bad, and I will give it a set."
"Beautiful hotel in the centre of the city and very close walking distance to St. Stephen's basilica. We came for the Christmas markets, and the hotel was in the perfect location to explore them. We were upgraded on arrival to a suite, which made our stay extra comfortable. We had a fantastic suite with ample space to relax, and lovely little touches such as slippers and dressing gowns, lots of choice of hot drinks, chocolates and toiletries. We ate breakfast in the hotel restaurant and the food was fantastic. Lots of choice and freshly cooked. It seemed to be just as popular with evening diners too. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We will definitely book again when in Budapest."
"The hotel room is really big enough, large and small suitcases can be unfolded at the same time, the bathroom is separated into dry and wet areas, and there are Chinese-style charging sockets in the room, which is very considerate. Chopsticks are provided for breakfast, which is rare in European hotels."
"Overall, I was satisfied. The breakfast was disappointing. The quality was disappointing. The bread, fruit, yogurt, and other foods were not diverse. In particular, I think that coffee and tea, not only in the Masteri Hotel but also in all regions of Hungary, need to be improved in the future. I think that dessert coffee and tea should have more potential for development. The hot springs are pretty and I want to use them again. It was small, but I recommend it to anyone who wants to take pretty pictures. I recommend going with a couple."

Amazing
GGuest UserVery friendly and helpful staff. They offered us a complimentary upgrade. Great facilities at the hotel, including billiard and gym room for free. The room was spacious, the bathroom was gigantic. The toiletries they offered are from penhaligons. The breakfast was fantastic with a great variety of choices. A very exceptional experience. Will definitely come back.
GGuest UserCarlton Hotel is truly excellent. Its location is superb, being very close to Buda Castle, just a 5-minute walk away, and only 200 meters from the western end of the Széchenyi Chain Bridge. While not a large hotel, it is exceptionally clean, and the service is outstanding.
Despite arriving early in the morning, well before the standard 3 PM check-in time, the reception staff were incredibly accommodating and allowed me to check in at 11 AM. The room was modern and impeccably clean.
Upon check-out, Ms. Reka not only gifted me with honey but also kindly arranged a taxi for me.
Carlton Hotel truly stands out as one of the best hotels here. I will definitely be returning on my next visit.
SSatyaprakash ChauhanI absolutely loved my stay at this hostel! It was incredibly clean and spacious, which made a huge difference. The shower in the 6-bed dorm was surprisingly great — definitely one of the best I’ve experienced in a hostel. I only stayed for one night, but it was a really positive experience. The location is perfect, with multiple supermarkets nearby and everything easily accessible. Highly recommend!
RRoxyThe park plaza was a last minute choice for us as we had originally booked into an extremely horrifying Airbnb but we were so lucky to book their last room! It’s in such a prime location with a beautiful view of the parliament building and tram / metro stops within a 5 min walk.
The staff were really accommodating and informative and always smiling which is so lovely to see in the morning.
The only issue we experienced was the malfunctioning AC but they tried their best to resolve it and even offered a room change and complimentary drinks to show their care.
Overall, it was a great stay and I will definitely look to them next time k go to Budapest. Thank you!
GGuest UserAbsolutely great location. Customer service is top notch. Had to wait around 20 mins for check in though but would say that the hotel is great if you want to stay in the centre

Very Good
--Nancy-Overall, our stay at the Mercure Budapest Castle Hill Hotel was okay as there were some areas that could be improved. The hotel front area had a warm and inviting ambience, which was nice.
Upon arrival, we requested a top-floor room, but the staff recommended keeping our current room as it offered a better view. We appreciated their insight and decided to stay where we were. The hotel’s location was decent—about a 20–30 minute walk to the city area, making it manageable.
The bedroom itself was spacious and comfortable, providing plenty of room to relax. However, the bathroom and toilet were quite small, which made them feel a bit cramped. Additionally, while the room was clean, the bathroom was less so. We noticed hair left behind, and there was little to no body wash gel provided. The towels were dirty upon arrival, requiring us to request new ones on the first day.
One frustrating experience was with the housekeeping staff. On our second morning, we wanted to sleep in, but were interrupted twice—once at 10 AM and again at 11 AM—by a cleaner knocking to check when we would be leaving. When I confirmed that the checkout time was indeed 12 noon, I didn’t understand why they felt the need to rush us out. It felt unnecessary and a bit intrusive.
Despite these issues, our stay was generally fine. If the hotel could improve housekeeping efficiency, ensure cleaner bathrooms and amenities, and provide a bit more space in the bathroom area, it would be an even better experience.
MMing886The hotel is in a great location, with easy access, and is a five-minute walk from the airport bus station. The room is simple and elegant, and it is very convenient to go anywhere. I will choose to stay here again next time.
AAbbeyLocated centrally within a short walk to a number of good bars, restaurants and cafes however it can get noisy until the early hours of the morning. The apartment was compact but big enough for 2 people however the bed was a very small queen. There was only 1 coffee capsule for 2 people staying and although there were lots of electrical sockets, they were all for European plugs and not one had a USB connection which would be far more useful for most travellers. The bathroom mirror was laughable - I’m 5ft 2” and could just see the top of my head in it!
Instructions to gain entry were emailed on check-in day, which also included downloading an app. This would’ve been useful to know prior to travelling.
GGuest UserWhen I arrived at the hotel before 7 o'clock, I was nervous because the entrance door was closed, but when I looked around the intercom, there was a call code on it, so I just had to press it. I went inside just as the other guests were coming out. All the staff were kind and greeted me with a smile, making me feel at ease. A bottle of wine was included in the room and it was delicious!

SSavannah DVery good location, but you might need to bare in mind that it is in the city centre so it will be loud during the night. It located just right next to St. Stephen’s square. Walkable distance to the river.
