"Beautiful building combining modern and old architecture, small but clean room with facilities and amenities (even a big bottle of body cream!), superb view to the river and Parliament even from bed (ask for the rooms with balcony, it's a plus!). Can't comment about breakfast because we didn't have"
"Great Property. I liked the room, very spacy and it has a desk. Clean and quiet too. Breakfast was nice and it's in a great location. Supermarket, metro, tram, bus directly outside the building.
Only thing that could be improved is the gym, it's mostly cardio. But you can go to ”4% Candy gym” next door, it's good and they have daypass for a reasonable price."
"Awesome place to stay. Very cooperative staff.. specially Soroush who explained me how to reach airport during mid night. And during checkin i was well briefed by a lovely receptionist in glasses and blonde hair. (dont know her name) she was so helpful to inform me about the activities and amenities available at the hostel. Location is also ideal visit various locations in Budapest. Highly recommended for solo travellers."
"The hotel boasts a prime location, just about 400 meters from both the metro and bus stops. The rooms are quite small, certainly compact. Conveniently situated in Buda, it's a short distance from Fisherman's Bastion and the Castle."
"Excellent location, right in the city center, and surprisingly quiet despite being street-facing. The room was clean, spacious, and quiet. It featured a shower, complimentary shared restrooms, and paid laundry service was available. A big plus was having considerate roommates."
"I had an excellent stay in this hotel, is very well located. The room was extremely comfortable. Had an issue with the Safe and the TV and both were promptly addressed and solved. Also the breakfast with great variety and in reasonable hours."
"The hotel was well positioned close to St Stephen’s Basilica, with all local amenities on the doorstep including a Lidl supermarket around the corner, plus restaurants and bars in short walking distance. The staff were helpful and friendly. The rooms were basic and even double beds were actually two single beds together but reasonably comfortable, the rooms were also pretty compact with an open plan bathroom with a curtain. For our weekend away it was fine and for me personally I got it at a reduced price booking last minute but others paid a lot more, so for similar price I would personally prefer some of the 4 star hotels located closed by. The breakfast was included which is a bonus, and had a selection of hot/cold food/drinks, served until 10.30am, and you can order a packed breakfast, it was basic but something for everyone. Also there is scaffolding outside of the hotel, so may not be as easy to see the name for when you first arrive."
"The location is strategic near Keleti train station and from there, it connects to Budapest's places of interest via tram, bus, metro and taxis. It is also a hub connecting to other parts of Europe via trains. It's also walking distance to Arena mall and the many shops around Keleti Railway station.
Checking in and out was smooth with friendly staff. Room was reasonably large, clean, good air condition, strong water pressure and WiFi connection.
Breakfast was nice with breads, fruits, meats and coffee from machines."
"Awesome. Our family stayed for 1 night.
It’s not far from the airport bus, I had to live on the return trip but there was no room.
He has a small terrace where he prepares his own breakfast very well
The whole family is very satisfied"
"It is bigger than we thought, and we loved the layout of this room. The location is great, metro stations are within walking distance. It feels safe with 24/7 reception."

Amazing
GGuest UserVery friendly and helpful staff. They offered us a complimentary upgrade. Great facilities at the hotel, including billiard and gym room for free. The room was spacious, the bathroom was gigantic. The toiletries they offered are from penhaligons. The breakfast was fantastic with a great variety of choices. A very exceptional experience. Will definitely come back.
AAnnKooGood location for connection to airport or train station Keleti. The central market and the Liberty bridge is only 3 minutes walk away. Very convenient to explore Budapest with the tranport pass. Lots of eateries nearby.
Room is very clean and tidy and the staffs are all polite ànd easily approachable. We really enjoyed our 3 nights stay with the delicious breakfast.

Great
AAnonymous UserCarlton Hotel Buda Castle - A Location Lover's Dream!
My recent stay at the Carlton Hotel Buda Castle in Budapest was largely defined by its absolutely awesome location. For anyone looking to immerse themselves in the historical heart of the city, this hotel is a fantastic choice.
Being just minutes away from both the majestic Buda Castle and the picturesque Fisherman’s Bastion was a huge plus. I particularly appreciated the convenience for early risers – those who wish to view the stunning sunrise and enjoy the area before the crowds arrive (potentially with free entrance before official opening hours) will find this hotel incredibly convenient, as it's just a short stroll away.
Furthermore, the hotel's location also allows for a pleasant walk to the viewing area across the river from the Parliament building. Seeing the illuminated Parliament at night from the opposite bank was a memorable experience, and it was easily accessible on foot from the hotel.
The room itself was cozy and comfortable, providing a welcome retreat after a day of exploring. The bed was comfortable, and the room had everything I needed for a pleasant stay.
However, there was one notable downside: the soundproofing could be improved. I occasionally heard noise from neighboring rooms and the hallway, which sometimes disrupted the otherwise peaceful atmosphere.
Overall:
Despite the minor issue with soundproofing, I would still highly recommend the Carlton Hotel Buda Castle, especially for travelers who prioritize location above all else. Its proximity to key attractions like Buda Castle and Fisherman’s Bastion, along with the easy access to sunrise views and the Parliament panorama, makes it a truly convenient base for exploring the best of Buda. If you're a light sleeper, bringing earplugs might be a good idea, but the unbeatable location truly makes this hotel a strong contender for your Budapest stay.
Ttongtong.333I stayed at three wombats on this trip (Munich and Vienna ) and this one is the best!!! There is air conditioning inside the room!! Can’t complain!!! I visited in summer time and it’s grateful to have A/C. Besides there is a little fan every bed just like in wombat Vienna. The bath room is great, lots of space to put your stuffs, with hair dryer as well. Room is big, full size mirror is a plus. Guest kitchen is big too and three big fridges with enough space to store food. Great location easy to get to metro/ airport bus. Most importantly affordable price!! Love my stay thank you ☺️
WWarlie Zambales DiazHotel President Budapest exceeded all my expectations! The cleanliness of the rooms and common areas was impeccable, making for a truly comfortable and relaxing stay. The breakfast selection was outstanding, offering a wide variety of options that catered to all tastes, and everything I tried was delicious and fresh. The hospitality of the staff was exceptional—they were incredibly warm, accommodating, and attentive, ensuring that every aspect of my stay was perfect.
The hotel’s location is another highlight. It is within walking distance of major landmarks like The Parliament and St. Stephen’s Basilica, making it a perfect base for exploring Budapest. There are also many great restaurants and other tourist spots nearby, making it easy to enjoy the city without the hassle of long commutes. I highly recommend this hotel for its quality and convenience!

Very Good
SSoh KTVery very troublesome. Trip.com tried to contact me few days before my stay asking for my email for the hotel to send me instructions. Need to download app etc. Very late check in at 4pm for me. Waited since 12.30pm with my luggages. No luggage storage. Not just me, outside the hotel there were 4 other groups of people waiting and keeps refreshing their email waiting for the check in. Check out at 10am, I have no idea why 3pm still can't finish cleaning. During my 3 day stay there were no cleaning at all so what are you busy with?
LLEI CHI IOThe rooms were fine, but the service in the restaurant was perhaps some cultural shock for us. Only one person was set to take orders and when we wanted to place a second order, that person just ignored us however we hand signaled him. We were not sure if second order was not welcomed or if there were some other reasons. We had some problem paying with a credit card (we didn’t know that card couldn’t be used at that time) and we had to try with two other cards, but that person showed us he was not pleased by throwing the card machine down to the table.
GGuest UserExcellent choice in Budapest. Very convenient and well located. Clean and cozy. The apartment was very well equipped.
The check in and out process was difficult because the instructions were contradictory, some instructions indicated the use of app and virtual key and other through real key and case. The check out is too early. 10:00h. 12:00h is the usual time for checkout.
GGuest UserWhen I arrived at the hotel before 7 o'clock, I was nervous because the entrance door was closed, but when I looked around the intercom, there was a call code on it, so I just had to press it. I went inside just as the other guests were coming out. All the staff were kind and greeted me with a smile, making me feel at ease. A bottle of wine was included in the room and it was delicious!

GGuest UserReading the reviews, overall I was expecting worse. The room was a little dated but clean, the bathroom ditto. Clean sheets and towels. On the other hand, the pillows offered are really uncomfortable, the mini bar is not working and the breakfast is very poor and without a sweet proposal: I went on for three days on bread, butter and jam. The staff were friendly enough and the location was excellent for getting to the center by public transport.
