Very friendly staff, with comfortable rooms (if slightly dated), with lots of plug sockets which is always a plus, but a very small TV. The vegetarian breakfast was delicious, and the restaurant nicely laid out. The only real downside was noisy floorboards and slamming doors as other guests moved round throughout the night - it may be worth investigating in some soft-close doors!

Very comfortable & tidy rooms, staff were so friendly & the food very good. Plenty of choice for breakfast & all tasty. We also had an evening meal which was very much enjoyed. It is on the main street & the beach is just a walk away, but lots of other things to do.

We called into the Station Hotel for lunch on Monday. It's a real find. So friendly and traditional. I had the combo, ham and cheese toastie and the white onion and rosemary soup. A toastie, it was the best one I've ever had. I can only suggest you try it if Portsoy is on your map. The soup was delicious. We will definitely be going back on our next trip to Portsoy.

We went for the second time in a year this week and had a wonderful stay. The hotel is a really traditional Scottish place with superb hosts. The owner Susan remembered all our names and was very accommodating and friendly. Food is excellent and the service is efficient and very friendly. The bar and bar staff is very nice as well. The rooms are comfy and clean, as are the bathrooms. The location of the hotel is wonderful, and the countryside surrounding it is beautiful. We'll be back for sure!

The welcome on arrival was warm and friendly and the young gentleman showed us to our room which was up two flights of fairly steep stairs. We are both in our70’s and reasonably fit but it would have been a nice touch if he had offered to carry my partners suitcase. The room (9) was clean and spacious and the twin beds provided a comfortable nights sleep. The complementary bottles of water on arrival were a nice touch. We reported a loose toilet seat but it had not been fixed by the time we checked out. We ate dinner in the hotel on both nights and the quality and presentation of the food was excellent. We like to take our time over a meal but even for us 50 minutes from taking our order to the starters being served was very slow. We enjoyed our stay and would certainly visit again but a bit more attention to detail would have enhanced our stay.

A kind of mixed up place. Rooms upstairs were fine. Restaurant food was very good. Service in the restaurant was really slow. The bar area was just not suitable to go into as it was packed out with youngsters, a few who the manager explained had had too much to drink all day that saturday and we "probably dont want to go in there". When we booked we looked forward to the hotels comments, come and use our bar and meet the locals. Normally we would do that but quite impossible that night anyway. So it was either have a walk after the meal or go up to the room. I think everyone did the latter. Disappointing. Need to sort that out if you want visitors to stay.

This place was Extremely disappointing, the suite we booked had 2 good sized "clean" rooms, which at first seemed great, Fab big Telly, good drink selection, but later discovered the window in twin room was broke and wouldn't close, blocked draught with towel but was still so noisy, couldn't sleep. The shower was pathetic and hardly produced water and when it did, it was hot and cold. Staff were friendly, but despite booking our meal for 6.15 we didn't get it till 7.20pm. the food was Superb but unforgivably late!! Breakfast was a bit of a disagornised shambles too. Parking was outside the pub, if you could get a space. Very overpriced and badly run. Extremely disappointed after paying £153 for one night. Plus £47 for the meal. Felt robbed of £200.00. sorry but cannot possibly recommend.
