Bus 783 (cost 6 RON) from the airport to Piata Victoriei & then a 5 or 6 mins walk to the hotel. A quick & friendly check in by Daniel who, with my room key card in hand, also showed me to my 3rd floor room. A nice sized room & even though I was travelling solo it was easily spacious enough for 2 people. Clean with a walnut laminate floor, luggage rack, large wardrobe, safe, extra towels, coat rack/hooks, work desk, tv, 2 armchairs, coffee table, fridge, double bed, smoke alarm, radiator, aircon & 3 spare electrical sockets. A small window & a door & panel (to nowhere, no balcony) meant an abundance of natural light, blackout curtains kept the room dark in the morning. No issues with noise from outside or inside the hotel. There was no kettle, tea or coffee in the room. There was no iron in the room but when I inquired at reception, I was given one & an ironing board immediately. Wi-Fi was password protected, quick to connect to, consistent with fast speeds & auto reconnected instantly. My bathroom was a nice size, clean with tiled floor & walls, bidet, towel radiator, hairdryer, mirror, 2 small bottles of shampoo, wall fan/vent, towels, basin & unit, shower cubicle with shower head & hose on a riser rail, easily controlled shower valve with plenty of hot water & very good water pressure. I went down for breakfast (07:30 – 10:00) at 09:10 & it was quiet. Table service only, ordered from the menu with fried eggs, omelettes, salami, yoghurt, cheese, toast, bread, jam, butter, melted cheese, sliced tomatoes, tea, coffee, orange juice, water & milk. The bar was very quiet & far from expensive with Ursus Romanian lager costing just RON5.00 for a 330mls bottle. I had a great conversation there about Romanian history with David who spoke fantastic English & who covered the reception, the bar & breakfast. The hotel has one lift & there is a shoe buffing/shining machine in the foyer. There is very little in the way of restaurants, bars, cafes, shops etc in the immediate vicinity of the hotel but the close by Calea Victoriei has a multitude of all of those. No more than 10 mins walk from the hotel on Calea Victoriei I found a great courtyard bar & bistro called Green Hours. Great staff & a chilled out atmosphere with 500mls tankards of draft Ursus lager costing RON12.00. It took me 25 mins to walk from the hotel & down Calea Victoriei to the old town, stopping several times on the way to take photos. Gare Du Nord station is the first stop from the nearest metro to the hotel. As I had loads of time & the weather was nice & dry, I walked to Gare Du Nord & that took me 20 mins & it was an easy straight forward walk. I must add that all of the locals that I asked for directions were more than helpful, friendly & generous with their time as language difficulties did occur often.

I stayed at this hotel twice because it was recommended to me and the reviews seemed mostly positive. However, my opinion is subjective and based solely on my own experience. Positive points: - The breakfast offers a wide variety of options suitable for different dietary needs. - The hotel is generally clean and maintained to an acceptable standard. - The location of the hotel is convenient, being well situated in relation to the city center. Negative points: - The first room had a noisy ventilation system in the bathroom, which would only stop after 10-15 minutes of turning off the lights. Additionally, the showerhead was broken, and the water pressure was barely noticeable. - The wifi provided by the hotel was often unstable or unreliable. A suggested tip was to use a personal hotspot connection from a phone for better connectivity. - There was a lack of shower gel in the provided toiletries, with mostly shampoos available, which was inconvenient for showering. The staff was helpful. If I could, I would rate it 3.5 out of 5.
Marshal Garden Hotel

We had a family event organised there and all went great. It was during the pandemic and one of the main reasons we chose Marshal Garden, is the fact that they are very strict in respecting all the legal safety requirements. It is all very clean and even the most risk adverse guests told us they felt very safe. We appreciated that the offer included all we needed, from welcome drinks to the tasty cake, outsourced to Armand confectionery. The fruit bar was a surprise, as we did not expect it to have such a lovely design, with sculpted melons. Also, it was great that it included forest fruits. They were much appreciated! Should you organize a wedding there, you must know that having 2 rooms included in the offer is a huge plus. It makes everything much more easier. Last but not least, we appreciated their flexibility in offering solutions to various requirements we had and also in solving certain administrative aspects that arised. All in all, I recommend this hotel.

Usually I would give this hotel 3 out of 5. But after cycling around Romania for a week. This place was lovely. Staff were friendly, WiFi worked very well, room was large and they had a fridge. It was on a very busy main road & not walking distance to old town. You had to get the metro which was 3 stops away. Not much in area so If I was travelling with my husband I would not book this hotel and stay much more central. Drink at the bar were very expensive. Glass or wine was more expensive than getting out of mini bar!! (Not sure how that works!) it was quite expensive to even get a soft drink. (Hotel was charging 4 x the price of anywhere else we had been for drinks) although they were cold & you could get ice If you asked. I don’t do breakfast but I did pop down for a coffee which was very nice. If I wanted to eat breakfast it looked like they had a large selection. I found the staff to be very helpful so at the end of our cycle trip found this place lovely. They had a lift (which most places don’t)

The hotel room was all necessary and the size was normal. The bed is very comfortable. They also serve a breakfast in the morning, where you can find a variety of buffet-format products. The hotel staff were very good. The hotel is not near the centre, but the bus stop is 2 minutes walk from the hotel. Also, if you come from the airport, you have a good location. I would repeat it again. Very recommendable.
