Very good location and service. You can enter at any time and it has very good heating. The hotel is carpeted and the free buffet breakfast is quite good and well stocked.

Such a pleasant experience at this hotel. Friendly staff, especially the restaurant staff. Very good food, and a very nice alternative if you’re not feeling for dining out. Breakfast buffet had good variety. Central location, by a road with much traffic but was not disturbed by any noise from this inside the hotel.

The hotel has reducible policy that kids under the age of 10 should sleep in the parents bed. When we ask for third bed they didnt gave us one l, we were ready to pay a abcause . They charg daily for the parking of the hotel ( they told us that just when we did check out ) all and all not a good exepirence.

I’ve been staying at this hotel for the past 10+ years and it has always been a lovely experience - especially due to its convenient location and overall ambiance, however, this will be the last time. I wanted to use the laundry services on Friday morning and called the reception at 10:30. They told me “you’re too late”. Given the “end of the world” was not announced I asked several time what he (Cristian) means by “too late” knowing that I was staying for another 2 days and that as per laundry papers in the room only on Sunday laundry services were not available. He did not know that I was ok to pay for the express service (and of course he did not even ask). Learning: a better approach (for hotel revenue that is) is to ask the client by when they need the service and then to offer options. Let them make the final choice and do not assume. After I explained all the above I asked if I could leave the laundry on Friday morning so it is send on Saturday but he said I should bring it on Saturday morning (you will see the issue later on). No thinking here about what works / is more convenient for the client. Saturday morning, given one of the guests in the room left early, I passed by reception at 5am. Same Cristian was in charge. I asked if I could leave the laundry then (to be able to sleep further and also not be late for the hotel deadline) he told me “no, you should call room service past 7am once the ladies handling the room service start work. To my surprise, when calling reception at 8am on Saturday morning, I was told there is no laundry service on Saturday & Sunday by another Cristian who was working at the reception. Confused by this all I decided I will finally use the laundry service at the next hotel where I was scheduled to stay on my journey. And mentioned I will have to write this review because it’s simply mind blowing experience (he was not aware of the entire saga - though to be honest looked very similar to the other Cristian). 5 minutes later he approached me and told me that he discussed switch room service personnel and if my choice is to use the express option, it is indeed possible to use the laundry service - which I finally took for convenience - my clothes were soaking wet since the heavy rain on Thursday evening). If indeed the 2 receptionists are different, I think it becomes clear that you should instill in them the focus on the customer and finally for your revenue as well and give them a training on the hotels’ services as well as on how to speak to the customers.

The most horrible experience ever. Nothing working in my room. Receptionist totally rude and unhelpful. They should close it. Can’t wait to leave on Friday 31. No shower gel in my room. Room and bathroom phones not working. I think it’s unsafe to stay at that hotel.

A very nice and modern hotel with a comfortable bed, very good breakfast and a well-equipped fitness room for active people. It’s near Victoriei Square, with loads of restaurant options around, its own brasserie and well connected to the city. The personnel is very nice and attentive.

Unfortunately we were informed in front of hotel that there are no parking left. In this area it is quite impossible to find a parking space. The very arrogant employee of the hotel sent us away and so we decided that this might not be the right place for us to stay the night....! We found a friendly hotel with parking in the area and had a nice stay.

Only two negatives to say about my otherwise excellent standard room. 1. View from the room directly facing other rooms situated on the opposite side of the hotel building, & 2. No bathtub but my standard room still had many positives, like Tea and coffe making facilities in the room Fully loaded mini bar Safe in the room easily fitted my laptop Nice size writing desk and large wardrobe space and same day laundry service and not forgetting of course to mention the very nice buffet breakfast included in the room rate. Hotel is situated in the Center of Bucharest about 10 minutes walk from Piata Victoriei Metro Station for the yellow M1 line only 1 stop to the North Railway Station and the blue M2 line for the Old Town and good all the main tourist sights. Also found a very large supermarket about 2 minutes walk away.

THE GOOD POINTS The hotel is beautifully appointed with a lovely reception and atrium and breakfast/terrace areas. The reception staff are all very nice and helpful (esp Christian Savu who really helped when my mum was sick and needed an ambulance to see a doctor in hospital). Cleaning and breakfast staff also very nice. The Dorobanti location is great. Impeccably clean. Good breakfast (but need proper fresh milk - in particular, decent size mugs/teapots - they had nothing when I asked, and at this point we were pretty much the only guest in the hotel!). POINTS FOR IMPROVEMENT YES! On three counts - the heating, the plumbing and worst of all, the hotel management. Unfortunately I CANNOT recommend anyone stays here after no sleep for 5 out of 7 nights we stayed - they simply do not care about their guests' wellbeing, sleep, enjoyment and experience. To take each point in turn.... The heating was oppressive - on to the max everywhere at all times and was not changeable. We could not cool our rooms. Had to switch the system off totally, and open the windows but it made little difference. It was stifling, sweaty and really unpleasant, especially when ill with a temp and gastro virus. Poor plumbing - constantly blocked sinks, poor water pressure, shower cuts out, dangerous water temperature spikes caused scalding. I took my elderly mum to visit my sister and her family of 5 for Christmas - her first time in 7yrs to see them in Bucharest and also will be mum's last ever trip overseas due to deteriorating health. It was therefore a big deal.... Sadly, all 7 of our family were in turn struck down by a gastric virus. I was in bed for 2 days sick myself. Mum was the last of us to get ill overnight as we were due to fly home and I had to extend the stay another 2 nights as she was too sick to travel. That same night from which she awoke ill, I had had to go down to reception at 0119hrs in my dressing gown due to two male guests in a room on the same floor directly across the atrium from ours. They were smoking out the window, had all their lights and TV blaring, were clearly drunk and up to "all sorts", laughing/shouting/jeering and generally behaving like animals. The receptionist said that they'd be charged for smoking in the room and that other guests had also complained. He said they'd get security to remove them if it continued (I now realise this was empty words to pacify). Thankfully the guys went out on the town whilst I was talking to reception. The next day a different receptionist confirmed there'd been many other complaints and these guys had put a sock over the smoke alarm and had actually trashed their room. He was very unimpressed. I asked had they been evicted from the hotel and he said no - the management only said to charge them for smoking?! He said they were staying another night. By this point I was deep in trying to also arrange medical attention for my now sick 81yr old mother and delay our return travel. He gave
Response from Property: Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. While I wish you had a better experience, from a feedback like this we learn how to improve our services. First of all I would like to apologize for the inconvenience and to express our regrets. While we did our best to offer you the best services and the best support, we have to treat equally all our guests. We are really sorry that you assumed that those guests had anything to do with the management or the owners which are Romanians and not Israeli as you stated. We agree that they were a bit noisy than usual but we couldn't send them out from the hotel from this reason. Regarding the heating system, I would like to explain that it is working on hot or cold, depending the season. We can't make hot and cold in the same time. We work hard to deliver an exceptional guest experience, and apparently in this case we have not succeeded. If you give us a chance to earn back your trust, I can assure you that we will do our best to offer a great experience. Thank you, Catalin Stefan

I stayed at this hotel twice because it was recommended to me and the reviews seemed mostly positive. However, my opinion is subjective and based solely on my own experience. Positive points: - The breakfast offers a wide variety of options suitable for different dietary needs. - The hotel is generally clean and maintained to an acceptable standard. - The location of the hotel is convenient, being well situated in relation to the city center. Negative points: - The first room had a noisy ventilation system in the bathroom, which would only stop after 10-15 minutes of turning off the lights. Additionally, the showerhead was broken, and the water pressure was barely noticeable. - The wifi provided by the hotel was often unstable or unreliable. A suggested tip was to use a personal hotspot connection from a phone for better connectivity. - There was a lack of shower gel in the provided toiletries, with mostly shampoos available, which was inconvenient for showering. The staff was helpful. If I could, I would rate it 3.5 out of 5.

Lovely hotel not too far from any of the key attractions of Bucharest or the Otopeni airport. Cosy rooms, very professional staff, and doesn't cost an arm and a leg! There's also a supermarket (Mega Image) around the corner for supplies.
