Best Hotels near Biserica ＂Sfântul Spiridon Vechi＂, Bucharest

Decent given the price paid, though the rooms could do with some TLC. Good location and quiet at nights.

The location of the hotel is good, right in the city center, but the parking is inconvenient, there is not even a parking space for taxis, and you can only get off on the side of the road. The hotel equipment is a bit outdated, and there is no cover for the water outlet of the washbasin. The room is small, with a double bed of 1.5 meters. Breakfast is simple. The service attitude of the staff is good, but the hardware is flawed. Still cheap, but we moved to a more comfortable hotel.

The location of the hotel is great, right in the city center. It is a relatively famous youth hostel with eight beds in one room. If your budget is to travel Europe on a budget, then you can choose this one. It's clean and hygienic, and the bath water is very hot. There were people in the room from all over the world.

Marriott upper-scale properties, such as their Autograph Collection &/or Tribute Portfolio brands, continue to miss the mark. Weak management seems to plague many of these properties & consistent delivery of Marriott's Bonvoy Program only exists in the minds of HQ Executives. The experience of Bonvoy Members is something quite different in reality, since members NEVER know what to expect until they check in. Just finished 12 nights in 6 different European Marriott brands in 3 countries & only 1 even bothered to acknowledge our lifetime elite membership status. Otherwise, we received the same treatment as a guest staying at a Marriott property for the 1st time. The Marmorosch is indeed a beautiful property -- or at least the exterior & lobby area are. The rooms themselves are more more like Fairfield Inn properties in the US. Basic to the extreme & poor housekeeping was evident throughout the property. Trash that littered the floor on arrival was still there 3 days later, as were the blood droplets on the bathroom floor, & one has to question what type of housekeeping would leave a bed in the condition of the one in the attached photos? Only 1 side of the huge hand-pull drapes worked & could be opened, so we called to ask that someone be sent to fix the other side. A pleasant gentleman promptly appeared to tell us that they could not fix the drapes because a separate company had to be scheduled to do the repair. We subsequently learned from an honest employee that the non-functioning drapes issue has plagued the property since opening & is well known to owner/management. The property was previously a bank so there is a bar in the lower level Vault area, which one would incorrectly assume to be a beautiful & sophisticated location for cocktails. Unfortunately, as you descend the stairs to the lower level the loud & pulsating disco music immediately lets you know that your expectations are incorrect. We looked in the door & decided to not even bother entering & returned to the beautiful Lobby for drinks, but left after 15 minutes when no one arrived at the bar to offer service, & others who were waiting when we arrived were still unserved when we departed. Breakfast was a manic mess since the room where it is served is not capable of meeting guest needs if the hotel is more than 75% occupied. Many of the food items that should be hot are cold & unappetizing. Never saw a breakfast menu on a table in the first 2 days of our stay, & only after asking about cooked-to-order items that were being served around us on the 3rd day, were we given a menu with several options that are, in fact, available for breakfast. Check-in was the biggest fiasco we have ever encountered at ANY Marriott property. A full 50 minutes to check-in with only 2 employees manning the 4-5 positions & the Bonvoy Member sign on the front desk was completely meaningless. A fantastic hotel in a superb location close to restaurants and bars. We unfortunately had an incident on arrival when our bag was stolen from the Bolt cab and I just want to say The Hotel manager and all his staff were very supportive and helped us through this.. we stayed extra nights whilst our passports got sorted as we felt very safe in this hotel..it’s clean, friendly staff,well maintained and within walking distance to all amenities .. please do not let our incident put you off travelling to Bucharest.. we will definitely come again and recommend to others.

Excellent hotel, clean, well maintained. Very convenient location. Near the metro, bus to the airport. Excellent responsive staff. Very tasty breakfasts. We will definitely come back here. I recommend.

Spacious, quiet, clean and tidy room, serviced every day. Excellent breakfast with multiple choice including waffles :-) and provided a take away packed breakfast when we had to leave early for an excursion. Dined in the restaurant - food excellent staff very friendly and attentive. Hotel is situated on the edge of the old town and is only about 100m from the 783 airport bus stop and Metro. Excellent value all round.

Its not a bad hotel this, the decor is retro circa 1960/70's but the matching furniture does not make for a comfortable seat. However, the room was spotless, comfortable well provided for and well equipped, There are extensive facilities within the hotel. The problem was that we were there on a package tour for one night and the food provided as part of our deal was pretty awful. I say this because the restaurant looked good as did the menu but our meal would have been determined by the travel company as would the budget for it. Unfair to judge therefore.

Located in the center of Bucharest, it is very convenient to go everywhere. You can walk to various attractions. Free parking is available on the side roads of the hotel. There are also vacant spaces in the hotel’s underground parking garage. It should be charged. The facilities are fully equipped and the rooms are fully modernized. Breakfast is on the 6th floor. Very comfortable with balcony and large living room, overlooking the old town.
