Calhoun House Inn & Suites

Excellent restored place.Greatly enjoyed orient point suite.Lots of hot water and rain head shower.Electric fireplace was very nice on chilly night.You can’t go wrong here.They provide some nice basics.Excellent beds…………………….’.’.

We stayed at the Prairie edge suite it was meticulously clean. The kitchen and the appliances were well stocked and like new. The jetted tub was amazing with a tiled shower. The bed was firm and had a soft pillow top extremely comfortable and like New. The decor was Southwest Indian, cabin type furniture extremely comfortable and gorgeous. The living room also had a nice recliner, which was great. The view on the sitting porch out front of the suite was amazing to see the mountain range. It was very quiet there and peaceful. The owners were friendly and extremely helpful with letting us know the area information. The continental breakfast was just perfect along with many selections of coffee for the Keurig. We have stayed at a lot of hotels and cabins and I must say this is the best experience that we’ve had! Cleanliness peacefulness, and accommodations were outstanding. We definitely will be booking again there very soon

Our first time in Bryson City and we will be back. When we do we’ll definitely stay here. Artfully decorated, spotless and all the comforts of home. On our weekend getaway a chair on the front porch with a view of the local mountains . The only downside we could only stay two nights.

Ed and Shirley went above and beyond to give us a wonderful experience. From the Liz Clairborne sheets to the apple fritters for breakfast to the well-equipped kitchen and beautifully decorated suite. Everything was top notch and exceeded our expectations.

Lovely inn in a beautiful location. The suite was surprisingly spacious with everything needed for a comfortable stay, even the fridge was well stocked with breakfast items, soft drinks etc. The bathroom had plenty of clean towels, bed and bedding was great. Relaxing porch with furniture from which to enjoy the view!

Our stay felt like visiting family. We had everything we needed and more. Ed made sure we had all the information we needed as well as excellent directions prior to our arrival. He greeted us upon arrival, showed us to and around our suite . Location of the home to activities and stores is excellent. Truly a beautiful part of our country and a great place to stay to take advantage of all that is there to see and do.

This was our third stay at Calhoun House Inn & Suites. We love the view of the mountains, sitting in a rocking chair on the porch with a cup of something hot to drink, the cozy fireplace, the easy walk into town for food, and the quick drive to scenic hiking spots. There are thoughtful modern updates in this lovingly restored historic building, and we also love the owners!

When you pull up you immediately see what looks like two apartments with stuff and trash cans and things just sitting out on a porch. No cars just you and then a really nice guy walks up to tell us that the place is fully stocked when you walk in, when I asked if they had somewhere to grab coffee or something it had been 5-hour drive. He was right when you walked in they had everything from breakfast cereal to Coco anything that you want. Even went out and bought a couple donuts and had milk in the refrigerator. So it's hard for me to say this is average especially since I travel globally. But then we had to go to a closet and pull out sheets in a blanket to make up a sofa because there was only one bed in the 3 room suite. It was just us and two small kids. It's just one of those things where they have taken lipstick and put it on a pig and did a very good job by the way but when you're paying almost $400 after taxes for one night.. It's impossible for me to give it glow in reviews.. just woefully overpriced for a one bed place to stay for night even though it had cereal and coffee milk and the other things I stated. In hindsight once we got there and we went for the polar Express, their places we couldn't stayed for a third of that that would have done the trick. So I'm not saying this is a dump by any stretch, it's an old either hotel or apartment complex that they made into a What looks like five or six room hotel. And again they put a lot of neat personal touches and Ed the owner seem to be a really nice guy... But when we read the reviews we got a very different impression so I just have to give you something else to consider you make the judgment when you get there...

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Calhoun House Inn and Suites. Cozy, and comfortable, and the porch sitting is the best. Easy stroll to downtown, the train station, and restaurants. Ed and Shirley are friendly, helpful hosts who enjoy chatting and sharing their insights on the area. A great stopover between Gatlinburg and Asheville. Highly recommend staying here.
