"Basic facilities are good, only there is no hot water when taking a shower
Overall good
The front desk staff is friendly and willing to help guests solve their problems
The surrounding environment is comfortable and not noisy in the morning"
"We have stayed at this hotel twice now and will again. The hotel is in a great location and it has everything you need. The one thing that was disappointing was the bed. They had put two singles together so there was a massive dip in the middle. It was a bit weird. Other than that we will go back next time we are in Melbourne. "
"The location of the hotel is only one street away from the downtown area. At night, it feels very different. There are a lot less pedestrians on the road in front of the motel. But the benefit is relatively quiet. The parking in the yard is free, enough parking, breakfast is not available. The facilities are quite comprehensive and they are old. The little brother at the reception actually said a few simple Chinese."
"The manager was very nice, the hotel rooms are located at 2/F but he is willing to help with the luggage carry even without request.
The hotel location is fantastic, only 20-30 mins to Melbourne central (one tram only after you get the skybus from airport as well).
supermarket, restaurant, cafe, gelato shop around as well.
Clean, big room, nice toilet&restroom, nice kitchen, nice laundry.
Highly recommend that hotel, definitely my priority choice if I come to Melbourne again.
The only bad side is the room at 2/F that you have to carry your stuff up and down if you buy lots of things. And watch out especially in rainy day as it’s a metal stair."
"Very general hotel, not as good as the Internet said. First of all, the hotel room is very small, no difference from the youth travel. Secondly, all aspects of health are not in place. When we arrived in the room, there was still water in the kettle (water from the last guest). There is no hand sanitizer.
Overall, the price is not high, and there are many choices at the same price in the city center."
"The Elgin Carlton Studios was small but perfect for a single or a couple for a few nights. Well located near to many restaurants with an enjoyable walk through parks to zoo precinct and easy tram return. Hot water wasn’t available but I’m sure the helpful team at the studios jumped onto that."
"The facilities are very good and clean, the disadvantage is that the surrounding environment is a bit scary. We stayed at night so we were a little scared at the time, mainly worried about public security. But with the arrival of the day, there are many concerns that have decreased a lot."
"Simple Little Hotel, Clean and Tidy with friendly staff. Handy to restaurants and groceries.
More signage as to where to park/go when checking in with a car would be handy as it's on a Very Busy street.
Traffic noise was not a problem"
