Was ok but there was a problem at the last day of my stay

This hotel is a hit or miss. It can be really nice but it also can have 6 lightbulbs that don’t work in your room. Breakfast is all cold or dry not warm meals. staff can be very nice but also very rude. Over all a 2.5/5

Don't even think of staying here! The whole hotel smells like smoke. Holes in the sheets, plus weird stains. A pair of women's underwear under our mattress. Cracks in the toilet, bathroom mirror, counter; holes in the ceiling. I saw a used q-tip in the stairwell. No one cleaned our room during our stay. This hotel has pretty much single-handedly turned me off Choice Hotels.

The staff was pleasant, the bed and shower were nice that that's the extent of the positive things for this hotel. First of all, there were many areas of disrepair in the room (I attached photos). Second, we were jarred awake due to someone trying to get into our room at 1:30 am because the manager had messed up the room numbers. This didn't get resolved for over half an hour as the manager even came up and tried to get into our room. That whole thing was alarming and unsettling. Then we stayed awake until 3:00 am due to a bar next door closing at that time of night and everyone coming over to the hotel parking lot, right below our window, where they all parked and they were extremely loud and rowdy (couldn't tell if they were celebrating or fighting!). The manager was sympathetic the next morning when we explained all of this but he didn't offer any kind of refund to make things right.

This hotel rooms were ok to a point that it was reasonably well kept however, a number of rooms were being renovated which didn't lend itself to a clean quiet environment. There is an elevator and a coin laundry. There used to be 24hr coffee, when reception quizzed about it, they said that new owners dispensed with the practice. There is still a breakfast of sorts supplied. There is a Denny's nearby and an African Restaurant adjacent to the property, which didn't appear to be very popular and that appears to be the only food outlets in the near vicinity.

The room had visible wear and tear. Something was removed from the wall and then never repaired. Chair had so many tears, not worth sitting in. No desk chair and no hangers in the closet. But the room and sheets were clean. The rate was reasonable given the conditions.
