Hunter's was such a disappointment. It is stated on the website about being friendly and welcoming. This was definitely not the case. We saw no one from when we arrived until we left after our 2 night stay. We booked breakfast for 8.30 and left our order choice on the entrance desk along with the choices of the other 6 guests. Arrived down for breakfast at 8.30 to find no one there and our orders still on the desk. Phoned the number at the front door and explained the situation. I was told the 2 members of staff were ill. We went out for breakfast, as did 6 other guests who were also waiting. There was no communication about breakfast being available the following day, we all went out again. The cleanliness of the guest house is questionable. A deep clean and refurbishment would certainly improve the initial look. The balance of payment was taken from my card without permission and with no email to confirm this. Sadly we can not recommend Hunters.

I am a pensioner and paid half the cost in December It was stated the balance was due pn arrival May 21 for 3 nites However I am now home and my Mastercard was charged 150 pounds on May 17 I told Mitch the owner I planned on paying cash Apparently this is common practice and shame on them In addition the one day I had breakfast I was served by Greg after a party of 2 then 4 Not recommended for solo travelers

Location is excellent, 2 minutes from the ferry. Host was very welcoming. Room was huge, with a settee in front of the huge window with the most fab view if the sea. Bathroom was also very large. Bed was comfortable, could have done with dusting the room and the hallway. No breakfast included in the booking but was available from the cafe downstairs and there was a great baker 100 yards away. Good restaurants nearby.

Arrived at Hunter’s B&B and was allocated room 7. The room is possibility the dirtiest and run down room we have ever stayed in. We found ***** hair in the shower, around the toilet and in the bed. The carpet was dirty and definitely hadn’t been vacuumed and there was staining on the bed sheets. I would question whether the bed had been changed since the previous people in the room. The fixtures and fittings were in a terrible state and needed replaced. There was also a dirty old plastic plant on top of the wardrobe. We cancelled breakfast due to the obvious lack of hygiene around the b&b. I had my bike with me and was told that the bike rack was round the back. In order to get my bike secured I had to move a pile of rusty chairs and several wheelie bins. I spoke to the owner Mitch who was apologetic and blamed his room maid for the state of the room. The tariff for the b&b is very expensive. Avoid this b&b at all cost as there is much better places in Brodick.

Shabby, questionable cleanliness, carpet and bed linen shoddy. A dreadful room in need of cleaning and refurbishment. I kept my socks on at all times to avoid touching the floor. Unhelpful owner, the man working for him clearly trying his best.

During a recent day trip, my wife and I found ourselves trapped on the island due to cancelled ferries as a result of high winds. We were fortunate enough that Mitch was able to put us up for the night. We had room 5 around the back. Bed was comfortable if a little too small for my liking (I prefer a king size), tv on the wall was a little small too - other than that I had no complaints and were very glad for a place to stay. Bathroom was big, had a lovely warm shower in the morning before heading off. We didn't arrange breakfast with the property as we didn't know what we were doing with regards to ferry home in the morning. Left early in the morning to catch the first ferry so just left the key on the dresser as there was no one about. Thanks Mitch!
