San Mateo on Broadbeach

The property is in an excellent location, clean & tidy. It suited our family well.

Our room was on the 7th floor, which had good views of the beach, however these views will be blocked when the 26 floor building on the other side of the road is completed, (this will be a while away, have only started the ground works). Our room double bedroom unit had multiple balcony's. The kitchen was remarkably well stocked for self catering, plenty of knifes, forks etc, bot the 2 or 3 sets you sometimes get. The single glazed unit was fairly quiet, but we did hear people above from time to time, this was probably because some of the floor coverings were a hard surface - tiles. There a an small convenience store a block way, the store was probably a little on the pricey side.

I would definitely stay there again. They were able to accommodate my out of hours check in which was such a relief. It is a convenient location across the road from the beach with a stunning balcony view to chill out and watch the ocean. As the building was well secured I felt safe. Which is great, particularly for a woman on her own. What’s more the off the street parking was a bonus. My only qualm was there were a few issues with the TV reception where it kept cutting out, which was a bit of a bummer on State of Origin night but it didn’t affect my overall holiday. I would definitely recommend this place and hope to be back again soon.

Great place to stay. Very clean and tidy, beautiful appartment close to the beach and transport and the staff was so nice, couldn't have asked for a better experiance . I will be staying here again for sure next time we are going to the GC.

Unit was good, close to the beach. Everything I wanted was in walking distance. Wi Fi wasn’t much chop though.

This is a quite well located but dated apartment building with a pool and a spa, within 2 minutes walk form a nice beach, 5 minutes from a small supermarket a a couple of restaurant, 20 minutes walk from the centre of Broadbeach. That's all the good things about San Mateo. Reception was not open for the whole 7 days we stayed there. The whole apartment is dated. The welcome pack for the entire week contained washing powder for one wash, one use of the dishwasher, and one packet of dishwashing liquid, 2 rolls of toilet paper. Bowles and plates were chipped, towels were not changed. As none of this was mentioned on the website, we were very much surprised. The place charges like a hotel, but does not provide any service. The lounge furniture are dirty, dining chairs are rusty, the bedside tables are aged and worn out, the carpet is torn. Fans were and there was mould on the laundry ceiling, which was sprayed with exit mould when I mentioned it to the manager. The internet provided run out after 2 days, and none of us were playing computer games. The place and service was very disappointing. We paid hotel prices for an accommodation I can only rate at 2.5 stars– never again.
