This was our second stay at the Queens Head in under a month. We enjoyed it so much the first time we immediately rebooked on checking out. Lovely pub with a good atmosphere and great food menu. The rooms were comfortable with a great bed, excellent shower and were very quiet (didnt need the earplugs by the side of the bed) Service was very friendly, breakfast was excellent and it was a fantastic base for walking the local area

Perfect hospitality from the Queens Head on a one night stay over Twixmas 2023. We had superb service from all the staff and a very comfortable room too. Breakfast was good and all in, I thought this was great value. Ample parking at the rear of the pub with easy access for mobility impaired.

It’s such a shame when a lovely meal, lovely staff and attention to detail is spoilt but the very dodgy practice of adding a discretionary tip automatically to the bill without even asking first. Only minor suggestion is perhaps a wee bit more lighting in the restaurant, at my age I need all the visual help I can get!

We had been excited about visiting the sister pub to the Pembroke in our own village of Wilton as we like it there so much. The pub is really lovely , there’s a nice big car park at the rear and it was busy for a Thursday night. Our Waitress (possibly manager ) was really lovely and super friendly. We had the Wild turbot chowder which was tasty but a very small portion for the price (£22) 2 of us had fish and chips. The fish had been deep fried too much so the batter was very burnt (I’m surprised the waitress didn’t question it when bringing it from the kitchen ?) We also had the tiniest portion of mushy peas (which were served in a horrible little metal bowl ) were inedible as they had a terrible metallic taste. We were so disappointed. We didn’t like to tell the waitress as she’d been so nice. With hindsight we should have sent the fish back. Such a shame as a lovely pub.

Wonderfully warm and inviting pub and accommodation. Excellent food and service. The ear plug by the bed not only made me roar with laughter but also nod with practical appreciation!!! Lovely touches everywhere. Breakfast was superb: love a turmeric shot straight up, and the cooked food was excellent too. Such friendly and helpful staff and the locals clearly love it too.

Busy on arrival, lots of people eating as it was Easter Sunday. Greeted by pleasant and friendly staff that showed us to our table. Our table of 6 all choose the Sunday Roast. As we were placing our order (3 beef and 3 pork) the menu was changed as there was no longer any pork and the replacement was lamb. 3 beef became 6 and we requested that two were not served pink and we were assured that was not a problem. All six lunches came very pink and one was extremely pink and was returned to the kitchen. Unfortunately by the time it was returned to the table the other party members were nearly finished. However, we enjoyed the rest of the food and would return.

We called in on a trip to Tollard Royal for lunch. The girl behind the bar wasn't very talkative and when asked for a lemon and lime was given a glass of lemonade with a very small slice of lime. My partner asked for a soda and lime and was given lemonade.......not wonderful when you are diabetic!! The menu was limited and portions were very small, more like a starter. We won't be visiting again

This exemplifies the best of English pubs in the 2020s. They know how to appeal to the discerning guest who wants authenticity but also an entirely contemporary drinking and dining experience. The Queen's Head gives both. Friendly and stylish service, delicious food with a twist and wonderful ambience means we will be back again soon. Faultless.
