I saw on Facebook that this hotel had new owners and was keen to try. In all the years we've visited Brixham it looked awful so it's great to see it's been brought and by lovely proprietors who really care. We thought we would try somewhere new for Sunday lunch and so glad we did. We booked online a while ago and added a request for our little girl who has learning difficulties. Emily phoned to confirm they were happy to accommodate. I had to phone with a couple amendments and again neither was an issue. Emily greeted us on arrival and made us feel very welcome. All the staff we met were very professional with great customer service skills. There is Sunday lunch and there's Sunday lunch...this was exceptional. The food was organic and the flavours were amazing. We chose the sirloin beef sharing platter and my daughter had chicken. The trimmings consisted of red cabbage, carrots, broccoli stems, cauliflower cheese, roasts and Yorkshires. The food was that good despite being full we had to have a desert to see how they compared and we wasn't disappointed. This is a new business venture ran my a lovely couple, I'd honestly recommend you give this a try.

Called in for drinks last week, and booked a table for a meal. Great decision. From walking through the door, to leaving, the service was phenomenal. Nothing was too much trouble. Great menu. The Argentine grill gives a beautiful ambiance. Food was exemplary. Hubby said it was the best cooked steak he had ever had, and my sea bream was superb. Emily and Mark ensured our evening was without fault. An excellent addition to the Brixham dining scene.

Lovely welcome by staff. Facilities are pretty poor, the door takes a good push for latch to go down, no signal on TV , WiFi password not given and 4G is very poor here. Nearly empty tiny shower and shampoo tubes. Light above mirror in bathroom not working, dirty mirror and vast amounts of mould in grouting in shower. Bed was very clean and comfy. So not all bad. One major thing …the door at bottom of stairs leading to the rooms opens outwards and unwittingly when leaving the rooms we opened door catching a member of staff waiting on. There is no way of seeing if anyone is passing or stood the other side of this door as you open it which is not great.sadly things got worse when the shower was a dribble of water and sink wash was the only option. When bringing up these issues the owners response was “ water pressure is not always great, given 10 minutes it comes out hard and hot” I was just lost for words… perhaps iinformation of this should be passed on to guests?! My friend in a separate room had similar problem however with the bath, and the TV and the WiFi. The owner did not offer any explanation why these facilities were not in working order … there was no fire plan poster on the door.. to which his response was oh it must have fell off… nothing more … breakfast we were informed after asking for a menu that there is no menu it is a cooked breakfast or granola … however no hashbrowns or black pudding are offered. I am amazed at the owners response to the issues we bought to their attention. This establishment has got a lot of improvement needed to warrant the price they are charging

Complete disaster. We had booked to eat in the restaurant before arriving as the menu looked nice and we were looking forward to it. When we got there we were told the restaurant was closed. We went into town to eat and thought we could have a night cap in the bar before going to our room. We got back at seven thirty to find everything closed. Think the owners couldn’t be bothered and went home early. We went up to our room to watch tv. The tv didn’t work. Called the number given as there was no one around. They mumbled something about wi fi. Nobody came to fix the problem. The room was small and the bathroom needed cleaning properly. Not worth the money it cost us. Needless to say we won’t be staying again.

Lovely historic pub with comfortable, clean accommodation. Downstairs has been refurbished into a stylish restaurant and bar. They light an Argentinian style grill (hot coals for grilled meats) and serve locally reared Dartmoor beef - we had the Tomahawk and it was absolutely delicious! Loads of other dishes available.

The public areas of the hotel were pleasant and the staff helpful. Location was fine (Brixham is only small and easy to walk round). Breakfast was ok although a very limited menu of only two options; the tea was weak and tasteless. My single room was very small and in dire need of redecoration and upgrading. Very tired and cheap looking furniture and bathroom fittings. No toiletries provided. No information for visitors. No emergency information on display. The owners seem to be running the place on a shoestring. Overpriced for what it was.

The hotel is in an excellent location, especially if arriving by bus as I did. Easy walking distance to harbour and the many great restaurants of Brixham. Breakfast was of very good quality, excellent ingredients and cooked to order. All the staff, reception and serving, were very friendly. The hotel bar is a nice space to finish off the day. Two minor niggles, which didn't impact me seriously. The shower in my room was rather idiosyncratic - took a long time for hot water to appear and I didn't find the controls very user friendly. Mine was a single room, but quite spacious and I feel it would have benefitted from the addition of a small armchair - there is certainly space for one. All in all, I was very happy with my stay and would certainly return.

I don’t really like leaving negative reviews but can’t find much positive to say about it really we stayed here with our mother in law we had room 14 a double which was very small and very basic albeit was clean it’s right next to extraction to cooking so smells terrible, tv not working at all , and the noise is just full on so not much sleep at all if you were paying £70/80 pound a night you would live with it perhaps , but at £165 per night it’s just not justifiable our in-laws single room the same tv not working and very noisy and basic the rooms are clean but small and very basic vastly overPriced Breakfast was no menu just very basic and not that good the staff are friendly and nice but the hotel for what they charge needs major upgrades not a pleasant nights stay at all will not stay again
