Berwick Lodge

Stayed in Zeguma for two nights to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary. The room was very cosy and full of character, with a lovely balcony overlooking the side garden. We were lucky on our first day to see both deer and house martins. The room is stocked with tea, coffee, and Bramley toiletries. My only gripe is that there’s no dressing table or mirror near a plug socket. We had to take the mirror off the wall and balance it on the sofa to use the extension lead by the coffee machine. The food was amazing, with a good choice for both breakfast and dinner. We opted for the taster menu on our wedding anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed it. The grounds are fab, with a lovely outdoor area with tables and chairs; we enjoyed a drink here before dinner. We didn’t partake, but the afternoon tea appeared to be very popular. We loved our stay here. The room is a little tired in a few places, but I think this is reflected in the price. Overall, we found it to be an excellent break to celebrate our special day and great value for money. All the staff were amazing and certainly one of the main reasons we would return. Sarah, the owner, was also present much of the time. We would definitely love to return.

Check in was fast and easy even though I arrived late in the evening. I had the best nights sleep at Berwick. The room was wonderfully styled and had everything I needed. The breakfast was delicious and had a good range of choices. I was photographing a wedding here for the first time and I was greeted by friendly staff and the wedding coordinator was so approachable and knowledgeable about the couples day. I would love to be back at Berwick and would recommend to any couple getting married!

A wonderful place where all the staff were brilliant.The place itself was magical and we had an amazing time. Our evening meal was delicious and nothing was too much trouble. Sitting in the cosy lounge after finished off a wonderfully evening.
