Good central location, room clean and tidy. Staff were excellent, especially in concierge and reception, who gave superb customer service. The experience was ruined by some irritations which could easily be fixed. In the bathroom, I was pleased to have a bathtub as well as a shower but there was no soap or shampoo for the bath: I had to walk backwards and forwards to the shower to get soap and shampoo when I needed it. I had to leave a note to ask the housekeeping staff to leave me a bar of soap. No shower attachment in the bath for hair-washing or bath-cleaning. Water temperature in the shower highly variable (other guests reported this too). The elevators were slow to arrive: sometimes a very long wait. The card readers in the elevators were temperamental, lots of guests struggled to make them work. In the breakfast area, decaffeinated coffee was not included: had to ordered separately and pay extra (expensive too). The omelette chef was never there and had to be summoned. Odd arrangement where there are no stairs for those that want exercise or dislike waiting for slow elevators or dislike elevators altogether. Even the one floor down from reception to concierge can only be travelled by elevator. Some attention to detail please Marriott: your staff are great but I wouldn’t stay again because of the other issues above, unless they are remedied.

Kookaburra Inn

The environment is good, the boss planted a lot of green plants in the courtyard, very ingenuity. The surrounding area is quiet and on-street parking is also convenient. There is a kitchen where you can buy your own ingredients to make three meals. 10 minutes walk from the train station and 5 minutes walk to the big supermarket, very convenient. The only downside is that the room door lock sounds crisp, but fortunately the quality of the accommodation staff is very high, pay attention to light closing, no feeling noisy.
Holiday Inn Express Brisbane Central, an IHG Hotel

Very happy with this hotel. It is located about 6-8 minutes' walk from Central station where the Airtrain stops and many other regional trains stop as well. Also striking distance from the CBD with many dining options during the day, though the area becomes quite quiet come 7pm or so. Room is clean, of a decent size. Breakfast, which I believe is included in most rates, is also fairly good, with at least 3 hot dishes on rotation and the usual continental breakfast options (the croissants they procure are really good!) Recommended if you get a decent rare (A$160-180 is a good rate).

The views were incredible from our apartment, close enough to see the fireworks from the Ekka and close to public transport options. Next door was a Woolies and Subway, so convenient. I loved having a soak in the bath and being fully furnished, this would suit a family,
The Manor Apartment Hotel

Our first stay at Manor Apartment Hotel in July/20 & again recently from 31/08/21 to 10/09/21 for 10 nights. We stayed in room 23 on level 4 & was excellent in comfort & recently renovated & updated interior looked fabulous, views down Queen St towards Post Office Square. The room was self contained with modern kitchen appliances & most importantly all the rooms were spotless. Complementary breakfast served each morning by friendly staff on level 4 with an excellent variety of food from the menu choice. Staying at the Manor is so convenient to Queen St Mall, a 5 min walk to Central Station & other means of public transport + many tourist attractions close-by. Fast complementary Wi-Fi is very good. I'd like to take this opportunity in thanking Management Robert & Paula for making us so welcome & a big thankyou to Andrew & the Manor Team. We hope to stay again in the near future.

Yan went above and beyond to make me feel welcomed at the hotel. I also observed that his interactions with other guests were just as warm and professional as mine were. Yan made a 4 star hotel feel like I was getting 5 star service. Well done.
Oaks Brisbane Lexicon Suites

The hotel is conveniently located, it only takes about five or six minutes to walk from the city center, and there are many bus stops nearby. It is an apartment with 1 bedroom, 1 living room, 1 kitchen and 1 bathroom. The living room and bedroom each have a large balcony. It is very spacious and suitable for a family. The kitchen utensils are complete, and you can cook by yourself after shopping. Room service is available every day. This price is suitable for a family to live in, and if traveling alone, it is a bit expensive.
