Casa Kuaa

So glad we chose Casa Kuaa for our 3 week vacation I did have an opportunity to meet the owner. She is kind, inviting, and engaging. This attitude is reflected in all of the staff, especially at the beach bar/restaurant, Yamil, Lulu, and Naomi. Genuine Mexican hospitality! This hotel is right in the heart of La Punta Zicatela. Great location to restaurants, amenities, and entertainment.  Though the main street is busy and loud, the location of the hotel is extremely quiet and all you can hear at night is the sound of the waves. The beach is pristine and goes for miles. The hotel offers the absolute best loungers with umbrellas on the beach and by the pools. The most amazing sunsets each night right from the property. Beach Restaurant/Bar Offers an array of breakfast and lunch items. Excellent food and drink options. Very good wifi, we were able to stream sports games, do some work from the property or our rooms all day and night. We had a main floor room, plenty of fans and ventilation. Two air conditioners were provided for additional comfort. Rooms had a minimalist boho vibe. There were 3 cats on property that were very well taken care of and brought joy to us each day.

Nice hotel and nice location beach front. But you have construction works on 2 of the other sides including one really big one. It means noise of hammer, drilling, metal cutting or trucks from 7:30 AM till 5 PM with a lunch break. I was not aware of this and this somehow ruined a big part of the holiday mood… And this for more than 300USD per night. So go there if you don’t plan to stay much at the hotel. Otherwise look for something else or come in 1 year.

First time I've ever wanted to make a post about a stay at a hotel. For context, my wife and I have been to Mexico 16 times over the past 10 years. We stayed at Casa Kuua for three weeks. Staff I did have an opportunity to meet the owner. She is kind, inviting, and engaging. This attitude is reflected in all of the staff. The deepest relationships I formed were with the beach bar/restaurant, Yamil, Lulu, and Naomi . A plus plus, kind, helpful, and always laughing and smiling. Genuine Mexican hospitality! The front desk and supporting staff were equally amazing and hospitable. Location Right in the heart of La Punta. Great location to restaurants, amenities, and entertainment.  Though the main street is busy and loud, the location of the hotel is extremely quiet and all you can hear at night is the sound of the waves. There is an option if you want to take an umbrella to sit closer to the water! The most amazing sunsets each night right from the property. Beach Restaurant/Bar Wide array of breakfast and lunch items. The drinks menu is vast, and the staff make the drinks look as delicious as they taste. Very good wifi, we were able to stream sports games, do some work from the property and our rooms all day and night. Pools; There are two moderately sized pools on the property surrounded by lush greenery and perfect loungers. If you want to escape in a tranquil surrounding. Rooms We had a main floor room, plenty of fans and ventilation. Two air conditioners were provided for additional comfort. Rooms had a minimalist boho vibe. There were 3 cats on property that were very well taken care of and brought joy to us each day. Casa Kuaa is very warm, inviting, and not busy. That is our preference. We are so glad we chose this hotel for our holiday

quiet, relaxing and nice hotel! we really enjoyed our stay, the hotel is small and comfortable, we stayed at the suite with 2 bedrooms and 2 baths, it also has a kitchenette and 2 great balconies. beachfront with a small yet lovely pool. there are a lot of walking distance shops and restaurants.

Pros · The location was excellent, walkable to many local restaurants and of course the beach. It was a beautiful area and a beautiful hotel with two small pools and lots of greenery. It had a beautiful view of the ocean. We loved the size and decor of the room we stayed in. Having an induction cooktop, refrigerator with a small freezer, and filtered water, made our stay better. We were able to keep our water cold and cook some meals. The staff were all very kind people and we had only good interactions with all of them. The housekeeping staff did an excellent job keeping our room clean. It was a 15 minute drive to other beaches where you could get boat rides, snorkel, etc. Cons · We stayed for one week. Our suite was one large open shared area, so we couldn't sleep privately if the other person wanted to be up. The little air conditioning split unit did okay to cool the area of the bed, but it didn't extend to the full suite very well. The king-sized bed was hard and uncomfortable as the mattress sat on a cement base. The seating area was similar in hardness. The room became very bright in the early morning. At around 6 am the room would start to light up since some windows didn't have curtains, and those with curtains did not keep much light out. Our bed faced a window with privacy film on it (no curtains), directly facing a window from another unit with no curtains. That unit kept its light on until the early hours of the morning. So we had darkness in our room for approximately 3-4 hours each night. On top of that, the suite was full of unsealed windows with large gaps, so we had lots of flies and small insects in the room. We could hear sounds from other units, from the pool (we heard conversations, children crying and screaming, etc.), and of course from the major construction (they are building a hotel) across the small street that began around 6:30 am every day except Sunday. We understand that was not the fault of Casa Kuaa, it was just an unfortunate problem that was escalated due to the lack of sealed windows and the close proximity to the construction. We slept very poorly here, unfortunately. Due to these things, we would not return to this location. We came home more sleep deprived than we've ever been, even though we chose what was one of the nicest hotels in the area.

This is the sort of review I hoped I would never have to write. I arrived at Casa Kuaa expecting a relaxing stay but that was not my experience. There is a lot of noise from building work nearby and from other guests around the pools at night. The staff do their best but the owner/manager is really not interested. Shame because it is right on the beach and the grounds are very attractive.

The staff is all very nice and make you feel at home.

Looks can deceive. The location & decor are good but the poor service, dirty pool, bad food and noise from the nearby building site meant the hotel was not worth the money. Owner very abrupt and not interested. Shame as could be great but very lazy.

What we loved: -amazing location: walkable to everything in la punta, and a very quick cab ride to Zicatela -new facilities with stylish décor and furnishings -great access to a private area of the beach with minimal peddlers -comfy beds -working AC -they had our room ready for us and decorated for my birthday even though we arrived very early (seriously this was so appreciated) -security and maintenance staff were very friendly What to keep in mind: -service at the beach bar was slow and inattentive -there weren't any "do not disturb" signs to put up, so trying to sleep in got interrupted by housekeeping trying to come in and clean the rooms
