I had a room located on Fitzroy St. However, it was extremely quiet and no noise could be heard from the road or the other rooms. The staff were friendly and efficient. Checkin and checkout were smooth and fast. The room was quite large with sufficient furniture, desk space, etc, to allow me to work in comfort in the room. The shower was suitable for tall people, however the bed was a little old with the mattress suffering severe depression. The airconditioning was quiet and effective given I was staying there with 38deg days.

We were a group of 4 family members having a 5 night stay in a 3 bedroom apartment. Bedrooms were of an ample size and there was a large bathroom however the ensuite was a tiny bit small. There was nowhere to place your toiletries other than 1 shelf above the basin. Not a deal breaker at all though. Beds were comfortable. Water was hot. Airconditioning in the living areas was more than sufficient and there was an extra unit in the main bedroom. The size of the lounge/dining/kitchen area was more than ample. Netflix was a bonus as was free Wi-Fi. Can highly recommend. Close to restaurants, cafes, supermarkets, bottle shops, etc. We will definitely stay again.

My sister and I had the best time at Base St Kilda! It’s an extremely sociable hostel and we met some of our best friends here that we have continued to meet up the east coast! (The bingo is a must do!) While we had some a minor issue with our booking for an excursion with Happy Travels, it was resolved and we are super grateful for the both teams for accomodating and helping us sort it all out! Highly recommend staying here, especially if you’re solo and want to find some friends for life! Thank you Base!

Hotel was clean and the rooms were large, giving enough room for two backpackers. The hotel staff were amazing at dealing with an issue with some guests next door and even came and found us again the next day to explain what had happened. The gym was fine to use for us too!

I stayed two nights in Feb 23. I stood behind the world's longest check in for demanding guest. Said guest returned to reception within 2 minutes with photos of his room and demanding a change. This made me a tad concerned but no need. Reception staff were very polite. My room was as expected. It was neat and tidy and the bed was wonderful, great linen. TV was modern and excellent. Air con great. Bathroom is out of date, but clean and no issues. Meals are good. Good vibe on the hotel ground floor with a bar which was well frequented. Clearly the hotel is overdue for a refurb and the prices could be lower to reflect that but it is still worth staying at. I would stay again.

For $400 a night - there are issues. The room lights were so high tech that we could not turn them off or control them in any way we wanted. We were not drunk btw. A lovely person from reception came to turn off the lights so we could sleep. The lights also randomly turned off when we weren't moving enough in the room. Silly to use this system in a hotel. I would get breakfast in the Shop Centre next time. the hotel can't cope with the numbers and it's a very strange crowded food set up with average food. Luke warm lattes. Waited 15mins to be seated at breakfast table, when pre-paid, so they knew the numbers coming. Its very much a family destination, which is great, but the pool on this weekend was full of kids at 7.00pm. I don't think a quiet swim with a view is an option on weekends. It also seems weird that we had to pay for parking when we had shopped all day in the centre. Food and drinks are well priced - I would go again, but will wait for a cheaper deal to make up for the cons.

I booked 10 nights at Pullman Albert Park, and got upgraded into privilege room. It was a pleasant stay. It shares the same facilities (restaurant, gym, pool etc) with Mercure, but it felt more like you're in Mercure than in Pullman. The hotel is a short tram trip to CBD. The tram stop is within walking distance, so it was convenient. I love that it is facing the Albert Park lake, such a vibe! The building is a bit old, but the room was still comfortable. The service was very good, everyone was really friendly. The only downside was that they looked understaff. I had to carry my own luggage when I left, and not many staff were present especially in the restaurant. But, everyone was very helpful! This hotel offers good value for longer stay. It's a perfect place if you want to explore more local activities such as: visiting the markets, exploring the surrounding (you can go to Royal Botanic, National Gallery of Victoria, Shrine of Remembrance), or going to the beach. The Como Hotel is an institution in Melbourne. It has steadfastly stayed true to its mantra of ‘give from the heart’, therefore everything they do is from the heart, from the warm welcome, room service, housekeeping, the brasserie and reception, every staff member is attentive, helpful and supportive to your every need of your stay. The warmth, the kindness and care shown is exceptional. The spacious rooms, with large box full length windows bring in the natural light and are full of quality fittings and fixtures, the beds are heaven and are dressed with beautiful bed linen, pillows & covers and the bath towels are soft and ever so fluffy, most rooms have a big spacious bathroom and a deep spa bath which entices you in every time along with the quintessential must have blue duck. Then there is the roof top pool, a small gym and sauna too. It’s our home away from home!

This is the second time for me at this hotel. There are many things that make it suitable, certainly for me. Firstly the location is good, close to St Kilda Junction and trams to the city and elsewhere. There is a bus that runs down Barkly St that will take you to St Kilda proper. Secondly, the rooms are good value, spacious enough, good modern bathrooms with plenty of hot water flow, heating (aircon), good wifi, and they are clean and quiet. They have a comfortable bed which provides good sleep. The only downside is the location does not have too much nearby in the way of places to eat, although the Crest Hotel next door does have a restaurant and coffee shop. There are no close places like a 7-11 to get drinks or snacks, the nearest is a 10 minute walk. The only other thing I can fault on this stay was the room was in need of some TLC with a few minor repairs needed. Other than that, this is a good priced hotel offering most of what you will need.

Excellent place very friendly staff, great location easy to walk to Fitzroy Street. Car park underground spots are a little bit tight for parking. Safe location, easy check in, lovely bottle of wine for hubby's birthday
