Already the second time at this hotel. I like it because it is I midst of nature and in summer cooler than other places. Beds are big and quite comfortable. There are several buildings and according to the price you get a new room or an older one. We had one in the old building but it was big and nice.

Very good stay. The room was spacious and very clean. The balcony overlooked the estate and the infrastructures and buildings, pleasant to contemplate. From the hotel, many walks are possible, including the magnificent gorges of the Ravana. Many visitors come to stroll around the estate and the various shops scattered in several buildings. We recommend a stay in this hotel.

I'll start from the end. This is our second time staying in the hotel and I hope not the last. The place is amazing, the location is great and the staff is kind. The only downside to review is that you have to ask for room cleaning a day in advance ,sometimes you forget and there is no air condition. But this should not spoil the overall experience

I highly recommend the Hofgut Sternen hotel in the Black Forest, near Lake Titisee where we stayed 3 nights half board which included a day at the wonderful Nirvana like Spa. On the same site as the hotel there is an old church, which we accessed when given a key, an enormous functioning cuckoo clock, a decorative glass factory and shop and another beautiful shop selling clocks, mugs, and wooden ornaments. All energy is generated on site too. Viking Tours brought in coach loads of tourists everyday day with a great itinerary

Hofgut Sternen exceeded our expectations! Our family travelled from the Alps via train and arrived tired and in need of fresh air. We checked in to our rooms; they were scattered in the Glass House, Ravenna House, and the main building. All were very satisfactory. The best parts of our stay were the trails in the woods, (we were ready for some exercise after a full day of travel) and the delicious dinners. Breakfast was a nice surprise, we didn't expect as many options. The road adds a little noise, but not enough to disturb too greatly. Thanks for an enjoyable stay!

It's a very charming hotel. We stayed 3 nights and was very pleased with our room, the staff, and the half board option. We wanted to stay somewhere close to Titisee and the Badesparadies Spa that was a little more quaint and really soak in the Black Forest. This fits the bill perfectly! The breakfast buffet was really plentiful and had basically anything you could want. The shopping onsite was truly a bonus! Dinner was fun, the staff was super helpful.

My husband & I were part of the trafalgar group that visited recently. We were made to feel like we were an inconvenience. This is specific to the dinner and breakfast dinning. We were constantly told “sorry, that’s for the house guests”. We were also paying guests. The dinner that was a set menu was horrible. The pork was as tough as. The servers were rude and rushed. Plates were literally slammed on the table. No offer if we would like to order drinks aside from the drink options given (beer, house red or white). We were more than happy to pay extra for a different wine. The wine came in tiny goblets , but the house guests were given standard glasses. I would never go back there via a bus tour. The accommodation was clean. The people in the Cuckoo shop and Glass gallery were lovely.

Came on a Trafalgar coach for an overnight stay on 2 Oct 2023. Treated like crap. Rude waitress at breakfast summed it up: sit here! House guests are coming now!! Oh, and she nearly walked into me twice as I tried to navigate my way to my designated "non house guest" table each time rolling her eyes. Arrival set dinner comprised of petrified pork (oh ... it WAS hard to cut with a serrated knife), cold Spätzle, undrinkable house wine (in tiny goblets, unlike the "house guests" who had actual wine glasses) and even colder service. I was happy to drop a couple hundred Euro on some wine for my table of 4 but was never approached unlike, of course, the "house guests". Rooms are dated. Water bottles provided required a bottle opener which, of course, was not provided. I can do on by why bother.

The hotel has good location in the Black Forest, and if you’re interested in glassmaking there is a museum/factory/store that is quite nice. Unfortunately those are the main positives. There is also a decent beer garden. There is no air conditioning, and something about the building materials makes the rooms here greenhouses and saunas. It was so hot we couldn’t sleep. The furniture is old and creaking, and it looks like it hasn’t been renovated since Marie Antoinette famously stayed here. Some other rooms where friends stayed do have modern furnishing and beds, and it’s completely unfair they are priced the same as our room where the mattress was so old and shapeless it hurts to lie down on it. Our soap dispensers never had soap. You have to beg them for fresh towels and when they bring them they are too small for adults to use. They never take out the trash even when you make special requests to clean the room. We had to take out our own trash. Our room had no fridge. Other rooms had fridges that didn’t work. We couldn’t have cold drinks at night. We had to go bring buckets of ice from the restaurant and each time they gave us less ice, till in the end they only gave us a few cubes. Apparently it’s too much to ask to have some ice when your room is too hot to sleep in and there is no AC. Service is terrible. They never do anything without making a face at you, and they never once go our of their way to help. We had 3 small kids with us who couldn’t fall asleep because of the heat.

Comfortable, clean and huge family room. Lovely breakfest and very friendly and helpful staff. Nice location and easy accessible by car. The place offers both a restaurant and a bierhouse and also glassware locally produced. An interesting and beautiful place that surprised us when we stopped over for the night.

Loved the large room, view from the balcony, listening to the creek all night, the grounds, stores, breakfast, glockenspiel, and the hike up Ravenna gorge. The hike was better than Triberg Falls. The wifi was nonexistent in the room, it was even intermittent in the lobby. We had to turn it off because it kept messaging us every few seconds that we were disconnected. The breakfast hostess was very welcoming and remembered us, there was a large selection of food and drinks, and the rooms were warmly decorated with pine and Black Forest themed artwork.

This historic location was once a waypoint for Black Forest travelers and has since been expanded to three buildings to accommodate the busloads of tourists who stop each day. There are three upscale gift shops that include a large selection of coocoo clocks, blown glass, jewelry, and toys. The rooms are comfortable, the restaurant offers a very nice breakfast buffet, and the second restaurant offers a very nice menu with delicious food and desserts.

My family had an amazing time at Hofgut Sternen. The staff was amazing. The rooms were large and very clean. Being able to enjoy our morning coffee or evening beverage on the balcony while watching trains roll by on the old stone bridge was perfect. The breakfast was absolutely incredible! Best we have ever had. It was also so cool to be able to enjoy a burger and beer in the Biergarten that’s right outside of the hotel. We didn’t get to eat at the restaurant, but the food and atmosphere looked incredible. My kids will always remember hiking up to the waterfall. It’s such a beautiful hike up through the forest. It’s a nice quiet location and I think it was the perfect start to our Germany vacation. I almost wish we had ended our vacation there, like save the best for last kind of thing. Absolutely no regrets staying there.
