Stuub Hinterzarten

There was a hiccup at check-in as we could not activate the room card. So we had to call for help. The remote "receptionist" provided help and we could finally access our room. The room was large and clean; the shower was a bit small. The breakfast was adequate with a decent selection of bread, fruit, cereals and other items. We were a little apprehensive to book Stuub as it is not the usual type of property we stay at (without a reception desk with a human you can talk to). Overall we enjoyed our stay and would possibly stay at another Stuub. We did see staff on site but apart from the "breakfast lady" who smiled and talked to us (despite the linguistic barrier), they did not acknowledge our presence and did not show any interest in customer service.

We were here for a transit. The area is beautiful and we were actually sorry to leave in such a rush. It was easy to access the hotel with the code provided in the email. Check-in and check-out was done with a tablet. There wasn’t anyone present on site to assist. This wasn’t an issue for us, but other guests were looking to use amenities (which were advertised), and were unable to reach anyone. We booked the XS room, which was fine because we only stayed 1 night. For longer stays and 2 people, I’d advise a larger room. The room was mostly clean. The bed was made and there were clean towels. However, someone had left us an opened bottle of wine, which seemed a bit sloppy.
